Rating: Summary: The Firm is yet another spectacular blockbuster. Review: Mitchell mcDeere is a new lawyer at a new firm. He believes that he had found the perfect firm. His suspicsions are aroused when he stumbles across something he shouldn't have and then he realises that he is about to discover a shocking secret which could cost him his life. Very well written with a lot of suspense. A must read.
Rating: Summary: Grisham - the fictitious version of Bernstein/Woodward Review: If you get excited of stories/0thrillers about the cold war in buisness - The Firm is a must to read. Attacs or defences in buisnes-wars are often much more genius and dramatic, than trite dogfighting in the middle-east.
Rating: Summary: GREAT!!! EXCELLENT!!! Review: The movie was a disappointment, but the book is probably one of the best books I have ever read. It made me late for work because I just couldn't put it down, so instead, I stayed up and read the book all night.
Rating: Summary: John Grisham's most suspensful book!! Review: I've read all of Grisham's books, and "The Firm" was my very favorite! It is full of suspense--a real page-turner! You CANNOT put this book down!! A "must-read"!! The movie however was such a disappointment. It's only reeming factor was Tom Cruise as Mitch McDeere.
Rating: Summary: Why bother? Review: Sure, sometimes you want "beach reading" and sometimes it's okay to read something that reads like a screenplay -- like when you're reading a screenplay. But here, the least our author could have done is give us more than a conclusory "they made it" to finish the BIG CHASE SCENE. Hollywood was smart to throw all that out, start over, and come up with something better.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Wonderful ! Review: I'm usually not interested in books of this genera, but ever since I got it, I've been unable to put it down! It's great!
Rating: Summary: Ugh.... there must be a silver lining somewhere? Review: I didn't like this book. It must say something about the reasons people read. As pure escapist reading for someone who has worked 55 hours and needs an undemanding book, I guess it has its merits. A simple plot. An okay premise. A menacing corporation. It's like settling in to television after work and watching a bad drama. Maybe television can explain the success of this book. Heaven knows, I know plenty of respectable people who ENJOYED this, and found it "intriguing." But I don't get it.
Rating: Summary: An Okay Book Review: This book was okay. I'd recommend it to anyone who has time to kill.
Rating: Summary: A pleasure to read. Review: The book was fascinating, it brings out thr reality of corruption in some law firms that look too good to be true. I believe John Grisham is a sympathatic person and mostly writes about situations that could occur in everyday life, but is a little too far-fetched. His books are a pleasure to read over and over.
Rating: Summary: IT ROCKS!!!! Review: This was my first John Grisham book, and it makes me want to read more of his books. Mitch McDeere is a great hero to root for and Grisham fleshes out his characters so wonderfully. I can just picture how Avery and Tammy look in my mind and even characters as small as Kay and Nina. I know this is a cliched phrase, but this is truly a 'must-read.' The only thing that drags this down is the ending, which is kind of flat. But it does leave you with a smile on your face because Grisham gives you a tease on the second to last line. I haven't seen the movie, so now I'm going to go out and rent it, so I can make my comparisons. Highly recommended!!!
