Summary: You would like if you could relate
Review: In my opinion,I think this book was very interesting. Omar Tyree had alot of detail. There were alot of things that I could relate to and I am 18 years old.I would recommend this book to teens.Teens would more likely understand what is going on than more than an adult.Adults shouldn't put the book down because they do not understand it. I don't mean understand the words either! There are alot of pressure on teen girls that parents dont even no about that his book talked about. Parents that don't like the book most likely doesn't understand there teenage girls either. The book is excellent. It is well written as well as well thought about. Flyy Girl is a page turner and I couldn't put the book down.

Summary: This book was a big disappointment
Review: This book was a big disappointment. I was certainly expecting an adult book not something written for an eighth-grader. The characters were so one-dimensional that I truly did not care what happened to any of them. I wouldn't even recommend this book for a teenager because I personally hated the common depiction of young black females as greedy, manipulative, sluts - happy to trade sex for gold trinkets and clothes. After going at a snails pace through the most tedious details of Tracy's amoral life, Omar Tyree tries to wrap everything up too quickly at the end. Tracy comes across, cold and shallow and the book as a whole was very unrealistic. The most amazing thing about this book was that I actually finished reading it.

Summary: A 15 year old teen who loved the book
Review: This book reminded me so much of what I go through. I really want to thank omar Tyree. So much of my time goes to school, work, and other thing that its just good to sit down and enjoy a good book. I'm 15 and I know what Tracy is going through I don't think I will enjoy "For the love for the money" as much because she can't relate to me. Anyone who has read this book and enjoyed it should read "The coldest winter ever". This book told the life of a young lady who does some of the same things that I do today. We all go through that. Omar was just being real and if you don't like it then o'well.

Summary: Thoroughly enjoyable read
Review: This book is like the "Coffe will make you Black" for the 80's. It took me back to gold chains and earrings, and girls named "Mercedes". This book will remind you of basement parties and hanging out at the mall, and watching guys play basketball at your neighborhood park. The most impressive thing about this book was that it was written by a man. Omar Tyree shows surprising insight on what it's like to grow up as a girl, when there were images of sex and materialism all around you, while you're just trying to make it among your peers but still cling to being yourself. As Tracy (the main character) grows up, I was right there with her. She reminded me of the girls I used to hate when I was in school (she's the epitome of the light-skinned black beauty), yet I was rooting for her throughtout the story. Definately read this book, particularly if you like April Sinclair and Terri McMillan.

Summary: the worse
Review: this book is easily the worse that i have ever read. It was poorly written and all of the characters in the book were described in one sentence. for example: he had a dark brown face and thin eyebrows!!! that's only about 1 million young black men in Philly. i would give this to my 13 year old niece but I would never recommend it to an adult who reads a lot. i hope his other books are better than this....

Summary: Dissapointed
Review: This story had a lot of potential, but it was poorly written. It read almost like a day planner. If you are fans of Eric Jerome Dickey or E. Lynn Harris or even Shaneska Jackson, you will not enjoy this or any other of Tyrees books. I gave A Do Right Man a try. It was written a tad better than Flyy Girl but he has no pizzazz whatsoever. The whole book was about who wore what and who was sexing who. It was very hard for me to finish. I don't recommend this book to anyone.

Summary: it was o.k
Review: i brought this book because everybody was talking about how good flyy girl is. if you are still in high school and like to hear about how hot girls and boys were back in the 80's then this book is for you, but if you are like me and like books with drama that has twist and excitement then you probally wouldnt enjoy this book very much. but in all it wasnt too bad

Summary: I can Relate to this Book!!!
Review: This book was really interesting. I love to read books about teenagers and different things they go through since I am one my self. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys books they can't put down. I read this book in exactly twelve hours. Although I think it has too much sex I really enjoyed it.

Summary: Great on plot, bad on technique.
Review: Okay, for the sake of the story, this book gets a 10 for character development and plot line.

However, I have to give it a 3 for writing technique. There were typos in the text, copyrighted names spelled wrong, and more things that a good editor would have caught.

Now, this may not matter to you if you are not a literature buff, so if you just want to read an entertaining and enlightening story about a different type of girl, this book is good.

Summary: The worst book written
Review: This is about a girl name Tracy who basically is going through the ups and downs of being a teenager. When I started reading this book I thought it was o.k. As I got further into the book I wasn't enjoying it at all. Tracy is such a slut. Every guy that she approaches she has sex with. The story wasn't realistic. I wouldn't recommend this book at all.
