Rating: Summary: Judy Blume NEVER wrote a bad book!!!! Review: "Wifey" was my first take on adult fiction. I loved it sooo much I had to buy another copy after my friends all were finished reading it. Great book, but read it BEFORE "Summer Sisters."
Rating: Summary: Read this BEFORE Summer Sisters Review: I am ecstatic when it comes to Judy Blume's books! But I read Summer Sisters first, knowing that Wifey was her first adult fiction. I should have listened to my instinct. Summer Sisters was amazing, I felt that Wifey was little dry and not as good as expected from Judy Blume. OK reading, just read it before Summer Sisters.
Rating: Summary: I could not put this book down! Review: I have read Judy Blume ever since I was a young child. This by far is her best work yet! The plot was interesting and yet very unpredictable.
Rating: Summary: A spunky easy to read account of a household gone bad Review: I've been reading Wifey off and on since I was about 11, I really enjoy Blume's easy to read style that she is so famous for, this book contains slightly black humor, Norman the jerk husband says things that I cant imagine a man I married would say to me. In the novel, however, Sandy retorts very clevery at times. Read this book especially if you are in the same situation-that of a restless housewife
Rating: Summary: Shallow Review: I read "Summer Sisters" first and found it to be very enjoyable. I thought "Wifey" would be just as good. I was wrong. The characters were underdeveloped and superficial; the plot predictable and anti-climatic.
Rating: Summary: did not satisfy!!! Seattle, WA Review: I was excited to get this book because I like most of Judy's word. This book was a quick read, but the ending was very disapointing and I found very little depth to it. A good, quick read, but if you are looking for something to really dive into, I recommand her new book, Summer Sisters much higher than this!
Rating: Summary: Light Entertainment Reading Review: I found the characters and the plot entertaining, but felt that sex was too much a motivating factor. The characters had so much to offer with their differences, thought there could have been other focuses.
Rating: Summary: Blume's books are always a must read! Review: I once read Judy Blume when I was in second grade..."Iggie's house" will always be my favorite. In "Summer Sisters", Blume triumphs in the way she describes every feeling, every scent, every moment...brilliant! Her stories are wonderful in that her characters are always colorful and unique. She has a style that is unparalleled in fiction. "Summer Sisters" tugs and pulls at your heart, what a rollercoaster ride for your emotions...an excellent read!
Rating: Summary: Humor, suspense, plausibility -- this book has it all! Review: Wifey was Judy Blume's first attempt at adult fiction, and I think it's among her best work. Even though I'm a guy, I was completely engrossed in the story of Sandy Pressman. It's so refreshing to read about real-life situations and real feelings, and Judy Blume is a master at making the reader feel an emotional connection to her characters. First-rate dialogue...likeable characters...what more could you want from a book? Read this book! You won't be sorry.
Rating: Summary: Great book if you wanna kill time Review: The book is pretty basic. I didn't find that much excitment, nor debth or checter nor loyality. I did find a trashy weekend reader. It's down to earth, and shows what life really like. Not everyone has the romanic of a lifetime....
