Summary: Review from the ~"Association of Teenagers"~
Review: The book was FANTASTIK!~I loved the comic sensation this book had. It was written in such a unique form (letters) that made it *totally* stand out and that is one of the reasons that made me like it soo much! I read it within two days, now that's what I call a good book. I have nothing bad at all to say about this book. I am a teen and soI can really "relate" to what the book is about. I just finished the book right now and my friends have already asked me if they can borrow it since I've been raving about it!I recommend this to all teenagers everywhere*~!!~

Summary: what a pleasant surprise!
Review: I had read an excerpt of 'Feeling Sorry for Celia' in a magazine and thought it was worth a deeper look. I'm so glad I took the chance to buy my own copy. Jaclyn Moriarty creates some of the most relatable, entertaining, and realistic characters I've seen in young adult literature. While the characters are somewhat eccentric (particularly Celia), I felt like they were more real than so many stereotypical characters I've seen in other novels. Elizabeth sounds like a normal high school student and deals with normal issues, such as her stepfamily, the ending of an old friendship, and the beginning of a new one. I thought that telling the novel through letters was engaging, particularly the use of 'helpful' letters from different 'societies'. What a unique idea! I absolutely loved reading about Elizabeth and her friends; I can't wait to see what Jaclyn Moriarty will do next.

Summary: I don't feel sorry for Celia at all
Review: While this debut of Jaclyn Moriarty is stunningly original and offbeat to my liking, it hit far too close to home for me. The character, Celia, reminded me of my "best friend" in high school. Her selfish ways and unfeeling nature towards Elizabeth are a huge reminder of how horrific my teen years were. Celia runs away more times than we care to remember and this time she's joined a circus. Quickly forgetting the friend she had in Elizabeth, she cares only about her own stupid stunts and goes so far as to steal the guy Elizabeth liked first.
Elizabeth, however, rises above Celia's insensitive ways and starts fresh with Christina, her new pen pal via her latest English assignment. Unfortunately for me, my "Christina" never happened back in the day, but I do currently have a similar relationship with an email pen pal I've met. It's great that these are real letters and that Moriarty hasn't succombed to the technology of email. It keeps true perspective in this letter format story.
Does Elizabeth really "feel sorry" for Celia? If she does, she is a fool. Christina becomes Eliz's best bud and they stick together like true friends should in all the chaos around them in this quirky turn of the Young adult form.
I see myself in Elizabeth in so many ways, just wanting a truly best friend, and never really felt like I had it. Meeting someone via mail is a real way to get to know someone on a whole new level. Christina and her are meant to be friends. Too bad things didn't turn out this good for me.
I finished this book in a few days, and had basically read it because I am an aspiring YA novelist. I have only read YA novels lately, and some are extremely better than any other novel I've read lately. Moriarty is a fascinatingly fresh voice in the genre, and I hope to follow in her footsteps.
Thank you for this great addition to literature, Jaclyn! Keep up the good work.

Summary: The Best book Ever
Review: "Feeling Sorry for Celia was an excelent book.I loved it. I would recommend to to anybody. I think that a girl might like it better then a guy would. Jaclyn Moriarty is a great author. The book was a fast and easy book.
It was about Elilizabeth Clarry's friend Celia who keeps disappearing. This time Celia runs away. While that is happening Elizabeth is recieving letters from imaginary clubs like the Clod Hard Truth Association. The Association of teenagers send her a letter about how much of an embarrassment to teenagerhood.
This book is very funny. In some letters i began to laugh. One of the funny parts is when The Association of Teenagers told her to quitetly climb into the refrigerator ans stay there until her teenage years are over.
I hope that you decide to read this book also.

Summary: Feeling Sorry for Celia
Review: I totally love this book! I mean, it has everything you could possibly ask for in a piece of writing. Some parts are totally laugh-out-loud funny, others are serious, and some are just sad. Also, the charactors are fabulous. You really get a sence of them despite the fact that the whole book is written in letters, notes, and memos. Actually, that adds to the whole creative atmosphere of the book's world. And it's truely like you're in Elisabeth's world when you read it. That's probably why whenever I read it, I can't put it down, even though by now I know exactly what is going to happen. Basicly, this is the most fabulously written book about friendship, love, black diamond cheddar, and anything else gloriously random you could think of. I hope you enjoy it! (I know I did!)

Summary: The Best Book Ever!!!
Review: This is going to be a [substandard] review but:

Elizabeth is your average 15 year old struggling with the weirdness of life, she's THE most charismatic character I've ever read about, and If I ever met her she would be my hero! She's funny, charming, and charismatic, she'll keep you laughing forever. Jaclyn Moriarty is unbelievably creative, and I love this book! I've read it a million times and it just keeps getting better and better! I've made all my friends read it, and they all love it too! Who knows, maybe there is a Celia out there- you never know- so for those of you who said it was too unrealistic and depressing- UM WHAT?? You're closing your eyes to reality! And besides, never have I read a book that can hold sad ends and be so damn funny! As for the swearing? What?? Like, three words! You'll live, the book is intended for older audiences. So if you think like you're 10, and and don't like funny, well written books, then don't read it, but if you're not and you do, go for it! I love this book, and it deserves an over 5 stars rating!! (Which I would do if I could!) Now go buy it!!

Summary: Extremely comic and easy to relate to!
Review: I absolutely loved this book, and I love books that are composed of say strictly letters, emails, etc. But, did anyone else find Celia to be extremely annoying and not friend material at all? I swear, she was so infuriating! I wish Elizabeth had told her her feelings. Anyway, I think I'll have to steal that line, "Hey, I liked your boyfriend first, can I have him back please?" lol Classic. :)
