I guess everybody has a celia of one level or another in there life, for example my best friend (whos name is actualy Celia) seemed alot like the Celia in this book. Celia is a free spirited live your life to the fullest take a taste of everything kind of gal. It is VERY inspiring.
Rating: Summary: Definitely not "Feeling Sorry" for Jaclyn Moriarty Review: When I first picked up "Feeling Sorry for Celia," I didn't think a book with a plot focusing on a girl running away to the circus could possibly keep my interest. However, the book's style intrigued me (a series of letters to and from the main character, Elizabeth), so I tried it. Lets put it this way, I didn't put it down for two days, when I finished it. Hilarity, suspense and compassion for Elizabeth are used to keep the reader's attention. Anyone who has been a teen can completely relate to Elizabeth's experiences, even if s/he has never actually had a friend run away to join a circus. The reader is able to join Elizabeth through her ups and downs, excitement and dissapointment and come away from the journey having learned a heartfelt lesson about growing up, people, and friendships. This is absolutely the best book I have ever read!
Rating: Summary: Feeling Sorry For Celia Review: I thougth Feeling Sorry for Celia was an excellent book. Parts of the story are things teens can relate to, such as attempted suicide, boyfriends/girlfriends, etc. But I like how other events were pretty out threre, such as running away to join the circus. Here in America, you can't do al lot of those type things, but I guess in Australia you could. I think what made the book really original was the way it was written using notes from the girl to her mother, and her pen pel. I haven't seen too many other book slike it. One of the only things I didn't like about the book was that I didn't know some of the Australian words. But I could figure them out using context clues. All in all, I think Feeling Sorry For Celia was a very well written book that many teens would enjoy.
Rating: Summary: Feeling Sorry For Celia by Taylor K Review: This book captures all of your attention from the first page to the last page. It is basically a bunch of letters from main character Elizabeth's new best friend and penpal Christina, Elizebeth's old best friend Celia, Teenage associations, her old best guy friend Saxon, and her new boyfriend. When Christina and Elizebth are both in the same hospital visiting reletives, they meet for the first time after writing each other for so long. They become friends and everything works out great. It is a very adventurous, exciting, best eye catching book I have ever read!
Rating: Summary: Read it Review: Im not a very big reader and its hard to find a book that i like - but this was one of them. I read it very quickly and enjoyed it the whole way through. It includes lots of cliff hangers which made me want to read on and at the same time it is realistic. If you like reality, biographies or novels of letters or emails this is the book to read.
Rating: Summary: I Think All of Us Can Relate to Elizabeth... Review: I originally decided to read this for an English project, thinking it'd be a fast an easy read - which it is. What I didn't expect though, was to fall in love with the main character and totally relate to her.Elizabeth Clarry is a pretty unique teenager, refusing to do homework (she always turns in letters as to why she hates essays instead of the actual work), but she's intelligent. Through a school program she gets a pen pal - Christina. They soon become friends - they talk about everything. Family, friends, boys, movies, etc. When Elizabeth starts to talk about her crazy friend Celia (she never does what people want her to, she's unpredictable, etc.) running away, Christina is there for her. Elizabeth and Celia seem to drift apart, but Christina and Elizabeth are becoming best friends. When something awful happens, Christina and Elizabeth finally get to meet...what'll happen next? Overall grade - A+

Rating: Summary: Blahhhhh... Review: The writing style of the book was neat, but the story dragged and I only read 95 pages as I was not into it. Sorry!!
Rating: Summary: Great book! Review: This book truely is a good book. I read it during the summer at my pool. It really is a great pool book. The characters are so vivid in your mind thanks to the authors great descriptions. You really get connected with the book. It is a great break from some of the more "heavy" books that I read. It is light and fun! I suggest that everyone reads this book.
Rating: Summary: You have to read this NOW. Review: I'm an English teacher. This book was donated to my classroom library in October of last year. I read it, loved it, and gave it to my student Melissa to read . . . and it didn't make it back on the shelf for the _rest of the year_. Girls finished it and gave it to their friends, saying, "You have to read this _now_." Only two other books had that kind of buzz: Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card and Speak by Laurie Anderson. (Which I also heartily recommend.) It's fun, funny, and you'll love the characters. But don't just take my word for it . . . the eighteen teenage girls who read it between October and June can't be wrong!
