Summary: GREAT CONCEPT THAT DELIVERS LAUGHS!
Review: Prudence Malone is a NYC woman who's just run into the love of her life -- the guy who got away right after college. They have a wild weekend at their university homecoming weekend, at the end of which, the long-lost beau, Matt proposes marriage.

Major problem -- Prudence is already married to sweet but dull Reilly. So she decides to secretly find a new wife for Reilly so she be with Matt, guilt-free.Prudence is hardly up for any humanitarian of the year awards, but I couldn't help liking her because she was so damned funny! Neuroticly hilarious, really. The dates with women were a riot! The singles party at the art gallery where Prudence and her friends created an exhibit of Reilly, and lured in 400 single women was priceless. There were so many entertaining moments, peppered with observations and insights about life and love. I love this book.

Summary: Chick Lit? Wow, I didn't know what I was missing, Loved it!
Review: The Wife of Reilly made for some great entertainment!!! This book just seemed to flow. It was an easy read that held my attention from the start to finish. The characters were colorful, exciting and fun. The main character Prudence, was very likable, and had me pulling for her to find happiness with her re-kindled new love.

I loved reading about the adventures of Prudence going on dates with all of the potential new wives for her soon to be ex-husband Reilly.

I normally don't read "chick lit", but this was well worth it.

Coburn has a great style for writing, and I would definitely read other books by her.

Review: This book is great! Funny and clever! The main character Prudence is thrilled when her exboyfriend , Matt, proposes to her and she accepts. Now all she needs to do is find a new wife for her husband, Riley. The search is at times is fustrating but certainly funny. This is a fun read!

Summary: Funny. Sexy. Great read!
Review: A great, fun, clever novel. The main character, Prudence is one wild woman. As neurotic as Bridgette Jones, but more fun. She's totally clever and totally confused. But can't keep from getting herself deeper and deeper into the one big lie at the heart of the story. The problem surfaces when Matt, a long-lost boyfriend from college, proposes marriage to Prudence after a reunion weekend of great sex. But, uh, Prudence is married: so she decides she's going to find a new wife for her husband, Reilly before she leave him to be with Matt.

From a guy's perspective, a lot of fun to watch a woman totally out of control and in control at the same time. Great storytelling. Some just great dialog. And, well, great sex scenes.

Hey, I'd want to date Prudence if I got the chance. She's lying to two guys she supposedly loves, but she's such a nut job and so wildly insecure, I couldn't help but want to spend more time with her.

But I'm sure that'll happen. Because the book is bound to become a screenplay. Hope they do a good job with the great narrative language.

Summary: Hilarious Chick Lit
Review: Prudence Malone is a savvy New York City woman. Great husband, great friends, great job, until she goes to her college reunion. Suddenly Prudence is reunited with Matt, her soulmate, the love of her life, the one who got away. After spending one wonderful weekend with him, Prudence is proposed to, and accepts. Then she remembers about Reilly, her husband. Now, instead of divorcing her great husband, who's more of a friend than a partner in life, due to the fizzled out romance, Prudence decides to find Reilly a new wife, by placing an ad. However, finding Reilly a new wife isn't as easy as it originally seemed, seeing as how everyone appears to be a weirdo, man-hater, desperate, gold-digger, or a nympho. Now Prudence is dealing with sorting through all the crazies, and juggling a husband in NYC, and a fiance in LA. Hopefully, with a little help from her friends, Prudence will be able to find the next wife of Reilly.

I haven't read many books in the chick lit genre, but I found Jennifer Coburn's THE WIFE OF REILLY to be absolutely hilarious. Prudence is such a great main character, who is filled with wacky ideas, and zany adventures. Her friends are supportive and enjoyable supporting characters, and will remind the reader of some of her/his closest friends. Coburn has created an enticing, yet enjoyable plot, that will draw readers in, and keep them from escaping from Prudence's world until the very last word is read. A must have book for anyone who enjoyed Jill A. Davis' GIRLS' POKER NIGHT, as the main characters (Prudence from THE WIFE OF REILLY and Ruby from GIRLS' POKER NIGHT), have various crazy quirks in common. A must-read!

Summary: I'd give this six stars if I could!
Review: This book was clever and hilariously funny. The neurotic but good-hearted Prudence Malone decides to find a new wife for her husband before she leaves him for another man. She and her three wacky friends place an ad in the lonely hearts section of the newspaper and wade through a huge pile of prospective wives for unsuspecting Reilly. Prudence ends up "dating" dozens of women from the too-fabulous Yasmine to a nasty mirror image of herself. Along the way, Prudence and her friends host a truly hysterical singles party and take a series of self-help classes that had me in stitches.

I appreciated the touching sub-plot with Prudence and her father, which answered the question: "What kind of nut job would do something like this?" The reader learns why Prudence has such major issues with men. No spoilers, but there's a nice reconciliation scene between the father and daughter that makes this book layers deeper than the typical chick-lit.

While I enjoyed every page, my absolute favorite was the last. Again, no spoilers, but the surprise ending was so completely and totally satifying, it really finished the book beautifully. Loved this book and will recommend it to my friends.

One question - when's the movie?!
