Rating: Summary: Robert's Opinion Review: Larry has done a masterful job of telling The Greatest Story Ever Told in first person through the eyes and thoughts of The Fisherman. An historical novel written in a different way. Highly recommended for people who like historical novels and a must for all Christians.
Rating: Summary: I Highly Recommend This Book ! Review: The first time I read this book, I read it to my children at bedtime. It's a delightful book to read aloud because of the excellent writing. It's not a book that the author expected children to read, but mine did enjoy it and hopefully learn a better view of an old story, as I did.I'm picky about the way a true story is told, and I was not disappointed in this pastor's storytelling. I didn't find any worrisome bits of twisted Scripture in the retelling of a Bible story, as I have in other books. I loved the way this was told with the big picture in mind, the picture that I've so easily overlooked in church school lessons or even casual readings of the Scriptures. As a homeschooling mother, I'm pleased to have found a living book that shows the author's views of relationship with Jesus, and that helps me to think about how to steer some of our family reading as we continue our schooling. I loved that I could read an account of a believer who was there, experiencing the stories in person, and who still didn't understand what was going on. Yes, it's fiction, but the truth is within the pages of this book, and I've read it several times already. I'm looking forward to Larry's next book.
Rating: Summary: A Fresh Look at Christ Review: This book gives a glimpse at the Christ that I want to know more of. Christ as God incarnate, embodying unconditional love, yet encouraging righteousness. If you want to know more of the acceptance of Christ, this book will lead the way.
Rating: Summary: Don't work for Jesus, work with Him! Review: This book presents a wonderful view of the man and diety of Jesus through the eyes of Peter. I found the writing to be eye opening and could easily identify with Peter's view of Jesus and how his experience with Him changed his perspective (and mine).

Rating: Summary: The Fisherman Review: This was a very moving story. The author put me back to the time Jesus walked our earth. I always knew Peter was a man but did not realize how much he was like myself. With my own agenda on how Jesus should work in my life. Even when he shows me the way in no uncertain terms, my flesh does the oposite. I laughed, I cried, I walked next to my Master along with Peter. Larry seemed to let the Lord work through him in this book. He put his writing into a way I could relate to on a very personal level. The questions Peter asks are the same qustions I ask when I am being the most real with myself. Some books leave you hungry for more of the Fathers truth, this is certainly one of those books. Thanks Larry for making me hungry again. It's been awhile! A must read for those[like me] who have problems with understanding the men who walked with the Master. They really were men like you and I. Larry is my new favorite author.
