Summary: Bravo!
Review: Me being curious as to what all the fuss is about when it comes to being submissive was truly impressed with this book. I like most can't relate to indivduals that are into pain. But as I read "Breaking the Girl" I have a whole new outlook on what being submissive is all about. I recommend this book to those that have an interest in submission. Like someone once told me, you can't knock it until you've tried it.

Summary: Submission possible.
Review: The only way I can think to describe this erotic novel is to say that's it's a love story combined with submission. However the submission isn't ordinary, there's a deeper meaning to it, which makes this a quick and lusty read. One of the better erotic novels I've read.

Summary: Simple role playing isn't exciting
Review: The publisher wants you to believe this is a really steamy sex book. In reality is more like a biography of a stripper turned kept women and less like erotica. It gets pretty heavy trying to explain her emotions and feelings - then his motivations and feelings. There are some scenes of role playing and sex games. Some of the scenes are pretty interesting but, over all, I was disappointed.

Summary: Not Dominant Enough, and There's the Big Problem
Review: This book has its hot spots, but seems afraid to keep the promise it makes to the reader. It wants to be SM, though falls short. Instead it implies a truly dangerous sort of relationship; a typical male dominated, 1950s chauvinism (sexist) type.

Despite the SM lifestyle's whips, chains, pins, prods, jackboots, and leather, it is not slavery, nazism, facism, nor chauvinism. It is violence as sex, or sex as violence, which nevertheless intimates a sort of unspoken equal rights: I choose to be whipped by you and bound and etc. To have someone actually submit is another thing entirely: African slaves actually did submit to their white masters, Jews to some degree were forced to submit to Nazi oppressors, and women of the pre-sixties were in many ways under a state of accepted submission to their menfolk. In all of the aforementioned cases, there were instances of beatings, many of which are mimicked, modeled, imitated and whatnot reguarly in the styles, tastes, actions of practicioneers of the SM lifestyle, who are not African slaves, opressed Jews (except coincidentally Jewish and never oppressed actually), nor women under the accepted submission of their menfolk--and this last group is especially to be studied. Women in the SM lifestyle are quite actualized, equal, modern, progressive, whether they be the S or the M. If I am being beaten and dominated by my man, actually, I will divorce him; and then I will marry a man who does not beat me, a man who is my equal, and we will play at his beatings of me, many of which will leave physical scarring that is deeper than the "abusive" (but not SM) ex. Do you understand?

The point is that because the domination in this book on the part of the man is less than creative, thorough, or convincing, it comes off as "real" abuse and sexism, not SM. In other words, what our female protagonist ends up with at the end is a jerk and a bully for a husband, not a dominant. Sorry, for this. In most other ways, I really liked the book.

Summary: A Real Page Turner
Review: This book kept me interested and was hard to put down. I especially like the short chapters and the way each chapter is written to be read almost like a short story. It is a very easy read. I found it to be a fun and exciting although I found the poor editing and mistakes within the text to be distracting at times. I plan to read other books by this author.

Summary: Loved it!!!
Review: This book was absolutely incredible, I could not put it down. Moment to moment I had similar flashes into my own life and deeply planted issues. The author portrayed a road that many of us do not dare go down. By the time you finish this book you will ask yourself why you haven't gone down this path, is it really the social fear of what others might think or is it due to the fear of losing oneself in the submission to another. Absolutely incredible, hot, steamy, thought-provoking book.

Summary: Goes just far enough.

Summary: Loved it!!!
Review: This is one of the BEST SM I've ever read. It's so sexy and not the least bit trashy. The New Orleans setting made my mouth water and the characters made me want to have an affair with someone like Frank. I want more where this came from!

Summary: The best erotic fiction so far!
Review: This is the best erotic fiction I've ever read. The story, the characters, the sex... It's all good. I want more like it, too! Though this is my first BDSM, it won't be my last, not now.
