Rating: Summary: I submit to this book! Review: Breaking the Girl is one of the most intense and decadent books I have ever read! The story of a couple whose kinky games of domination and submission take over their lives is one of eroticism and suspense. I love how believable the characters are. I also love the fact that the book is set in New Orleans -- a city that's always fascinated me. I have become intrigued by this brand of erotica -- BDSM -- and this book is as good as it gets...
Rating: Summary: Fantasy S&M Review: Breaking the Girl read like the S&M version of Pretty Woman. Cute dialog, unrealistic depiction of a strong willed woman slowly acquiescing to the needs of her wannabe Dominant. If you're into the erotica of an S&M romance novel that touches lightly on the lifestyle, this book is for you.
Rating: Summary: Erotic and delightful. Review: Breaking the Girl, a story of "lite" BDSM was was erotic and sensual. Frank was one of the best erotic characters I have read in years and years, he was so good!! I do hope this author writes a few more of these type novels. She certainly has a knack for it.
Rating: Summary: painful.. and not the good kind. Review: dull.. badly written.. cliche.. this book accomplishes all of these things. I could not read farther than half-way through without wanting to claw my eyes out. If you are looking for some decent sm reading try "Carrie's Story" by Molly Weatherfield, Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty series, or the Marketplace series.
Rating: Summary: The Ultimate in Erotic Writting Review: I cried when I finished for two reasons 1- I Fell in Love with Frank's character. 2- the second to the last chapter saddened me. (Read it you will see what I mean) 3- I didn't want to ever finish reading it I wanted it to go on and on...............I love this book and will forever cherish it. I found it to be realistic and fascinating. Excellent writing even thou I did find some Typos. (OUCH) I was so excited it would turn me on more and more every page.
Rating: Summary: A wonderful erotic story. Review: I fell in love with this book. I loved the characters and the story and the fact that it was set in New Orleans, a very dedecant and sexy city. The passion the characters feel for each other was mind boggling and very erotic. I am definitely going to read more like this as I never knew before how lively and entertaining these books could be.
Rating: Summary: I've read sluttier books Review: I found this book to have a good story line although I have read sluttier books. The sex scenes were described well and left me wanting more. Justus Roux's books (My Master & Master's Ecstacy) are much more descriptive.
Rating: Summary: Submission is the name of the game. Love is the goal Review: I was drawn in by the great review and the tag lines. "I wasn't a slave. I was a willing participant" I have read Kim Corum before 'The Other Woman' and I wasn't all that impressed but this book was different. The Gradual progression of one woman and one man into the life style of Dominance and Submission all in the name of love. I'm not sure whatelse to say except WOW. This book was hot. I had a few moments in the book when I thought this is not BDSM but real abuse but it all ties together at the end of the book. Since the book is a first person tale from Kristin's point of view you don't get a chance to find out what's going through Frank's head. You don't actually get to know any history on the characters until you are way into the book but from the get go you can feel apart of them from their actions and conversation or lack of. I did enjoy this book much better than the last Kim Corum book I read. This story flowed much better. Even though this is a BDSM story it really is just a LOVE STORY. If you like lite BDSM and unusual love stories with lots of great sex you'll like this book. Also this is a quick read only 200 pages.
Rating: Summary: far from hot Review: I've never written an Amazon review before, but this book has compelled me to do so. I thought it was boring, by my standards, for erotica. It lacked imagination in sexual exploration and the vocabulary used to describe it. In my opinion good erotica has a writing style akin to foreplay. It makes you want and look foward to each sex scene and,not unlike porn movies, each scene goes a little further than the last. This book didn't meet that criteria. Lori Foster's "Too Much Temptation" and "Never Too Much" are better erotica and you can find them in the romance section. Emma Holly's "Menage", though a little pretentious at times with her vocabulary, doesn't use the same words over and over again in her descriptions and both the foreplay and the sex are just as hot. I would skip this book and try one of those instead.
Rating: Summary: Erotic writing can't get much better than this. Review: If you like fantasy and erotica and good sexy scenes involved in your reading criteria, then this book is for you. Starting from page one, I was absolutely drawn into the world of Frank and Kristina. The great thing about this book is that it isn't dull on plot or story, where some erotica is. The theme throughout is love, running away and trying to stay close. I would unquestionably recommend this to fans of SM and BDSM, though it is a bit lite in the fact that it doesn't go too far and no one ends up getting physically harmed, which isn't really my style anyway. Also, I would recommened it to anyone who like love stories, because at its heart, Breaking the Girl is a love story and a fabulous one at that. Bravo to the author for writing this one. I hope many, many more follow it.
