Review: I just discovered Mr.Goines work and boy am I glad I did.This man could really tell a story.Dopefiend took me their.This is the story of porky, terry,teddy,and terry's girl minnie.From the first page I couldn't put this book down.It had me asking people does this kind of thing really happen? I mean in this book you got to see the naked soul of these character's.Terry went from being the everyday round the way girl to a fiend.And the way Mr.Goines told her story you could feel her pain.She wanted to quit but the drug just keep calling her name.I got so pissed at her boo cause he got her hooked.But I also felt his pain.The way Mr Goines has you even feeling for the bad guy now thats the art of story tellng.I got to admit though I just could not feel porky's pain in fact I can say I came to hate him.And hate is a strong word.But to me the saddest part in this book is watching another main charcter minnie her story had me in tears.How can a woman who is going to have a baby not get the help she need's? The way Mr.Goines weave all this story is genius.I would recommend anyone read this book who likes the read real stuff.peace

Summary: Donald Goines forever a hustler!
Review: I love this book. My father introduced me to the world of Donald Goines when I was about 13 years old. I've read all of his books and all of them are great. This book outshines any of his other books buy far, though. The reason why I love this book is because of it's graphic content. I've never tried any kinds of drugs and I owe it to this book. There's no pretty picture painted of what drug use is really about. So, parents grab it and shove it in your children's faces. Only thing is that I'm 21 now and afraid to get my blood took.

Review: I read this book recently and whatmore can i say. This book was amazing. This reminds me of my years of doing drugs. I can feel Goines in this book. He is great. This is the first book that I have read of Goines but it surely wasn't my last. I have to recommend Black Girl Lost, Whoreson, and Dopefiend. This man was great. He inspired to write my own stories. Review: I read this book when I was about 14 years old. My dad told me he read Donald Goines when he was locked up and he wanted me to read some. I'll always remember this book because after reading it, I knew I would never ever do heroine. Just reading how the addicts live and how it controls their life made me say that I would never even try it or any other drug. I think all young people should read this book just to see how their life could turn out if they use drugs.

Review: I was introduced to Donald Goines by a friend, when he first told me about Donald Goines my interest wasnt very keen, until I read dopefiend. This book is about 2 people who get strung out on heroin. What I like most about the book is that Goines follows there whole life from the time they first got hooked until.... well you'll have to read it to find out the end but I do highly recommed this book

Review: sad, trgic, man this ain't new to me being that i'm from the ghetto, it's impossible to be from the ghetto and not see drugs,a classic,goines like iceberg slim told it like it was 2 authors who will never get their props the only ones who could make stephen king look like mickey mouse, after reading this why would anybody do drugs, teddy got terri hooked on it and she goes from good girl to tramp, it can happen to anyone a shame how teddy treated her but that's what drugs make you do mistreat those closest to you, all the characters end up in bad shape except porky, teddy, snake, tim, red all got shot, minnie killed herself and terry seeing her body went insane, i doubt if she ever recovers, jean died of a overdose, this is sad it tells of what a drug addict will do for drugs sadly times have not changed only thing new is the drug scene changed and this is a new generation.
