Review: Dopefiend, was a excellent book, Its so addictive, you are truly living the scene, this book was sooooooo good...It's a "classic" Donald Goines puts you in "his world" the inner city life. It's written in the "raw" true to the game. You can't put it down. I thought this was the best one out of all of the other books written by Donald Goines

Review: First and foremost, you will never come in contact with another writer such as Donald. Dopefiend was exellent, but his other books should receive some recognition as well. Donald wrote 15 other books. Dopefiend being one of these classics. Suggested for all to read.

Review: I am one that knows nothing of the streets and nothing about drugs after reading this book, I was well educated. This is abook you can give to your children to let them know the effects of drugs. Goines out did himself in this book . I give him thumbs up.

Review: I give this book 10 Stars if I could. All of his books are excellent and I would recommend them to everyone who loves drama. It's real life to many people and it has the ability to put you right in the middle of it. This book brings out emotions that you can't get from just reading sometimes. I think that Donald Goines should have movies on all of his literature because they would be hits. And I mean HITS.... I hope this thought reaches a movie director.

Review: I had the pleasure of reading Dopefiend two weeks ago. I found that although it was written 20 years ago, the problem and characters are still the same in todays society. The characters were graphic as was the message. Anyone that wants to get a clear and un-biased look at the life of a "junkie" or any parent who is afraid to talk there children about the dangers of drugs should read this book and have there kids read this book. The book clearly shows how casual drug use can turn anyones life into a living hell.

Review: I hate reading and I am a college educated man. But this book totally engrossed me. The detail and vividness of Mr. Goines' writing is amazing! Everyone in life thinks they have some kind of insight in the world of a drug addict. Donald takes three main characters and watches their world unfold. You have the drug dealer, the drug addict, and his girlfriend who is the perfect girl and we watch each life evolve. This book gives you a deeper understanding of the individuals many of us despise and become disgusted with. I have a new understanding of a dopefiend and in many ways feel sorry for them. The book was fabulous. It is a must read, and for anyone who doesn't enjoy the wonderful world of Literture get ready to be entrapped in it. Donald, why did you have to go, many of our peers on the edge must pick up the book and use it as a guide for ceasing and dismissing!

Summary: GOINES BRINGS YOU TO HIS WORLD
Review: I Initially picked up a goines book because of the Kenyatta series which happens to be my name. only to go on to a joyous ride reading all of his books. Dopefiend was a very graphic book, that brings great understanding to a situation that so many are blind too. He does it in a way that keeps you coming back for more. I feel it's impossible to just read one of his books, so prepare yourself for the ride.
