Summary: This book has a good basis to be a fine novel, but..........
Review: The author, Glendon Swarthout, does a horrible job by not keeping the reader interested. I agree with the reader from Vernon, NJ. The flashbacks definately take away from the book!

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Dull and drawn out
Review: This book could be fully and completely told in 3 sentences or less, yet it is drawn out in an uneventful tale that is supposed to be suspenseful, but is generally unappealing. Although the linkage to the Bible is somewhat interesting, it loses its effect in this dull novel. I don't reccomend anyone waste their precious time reading about a group of boys going on a nightlong joyride.

Summary: This book is a literary sucess
Review: This book has a large deal of symbolism. I had to read it for my honors English class in high school. The ending was really astounding. I would recommend this book. Caution to people who enjoy light reading, because each character is introduced through out the book. Notes are almost a must.

Summary: Coolness
Review: This book is cool but the flashbacks are hard to understand

Summary: A real life expierence
Review: This book was amazing. I believe it is extremely helpful for teens discovering themselves, where they fit in in the world, and how their own past has effected them. When I began reading this, I automatically connected with the six troubled teens. I am a female of 15 from Washington. I would be one of the kids you would THINK to be "normal". I have many friends, great grades, and I play sports. However, this doesn't mirror my past. I have had troubled moments, just like anyone would expect to have growing up. I have felt some of the same insecurities, just not to the same extremes. If you are reading this for English, I would deeply consider paying attention. You will better understand your own actions after you read it. It's an awesome physchological book for any age.

Summary: i read it in english class
Review: this book was obviously written by the author to be so full of trippy flashbacks and obscure references that everyone would assume that it was "deep" and not try to puzzle out its real meaning-except english teachers! it seems as if the author simply wrote this book without several basic things 1)a plot 2)meaning 3)coherence 4)a grasp on the english language, and just hoped that it would come together at the end. it didn't! this book is like one of those modern art paintings that could be done by a five year old. If you are the kind of person who loves to ooh and aah over those because no one understands them, then you will love this book. If you are like me and just want cheap entertainment or real meaningful books then avoid this book and hope you never have my english teacher!

Summary: The wonderful story of six boys in search of freedom.
Review: This is one of the best books ever! It ties up there with "The Giver". This is the deeply moving tale of six boys in search of belonging, structure, and support in their lives. The end is so beautiful! To find out why, READ IT!!!!! - Diana K. Lindsey

Summary: A REAL BOOK ABOUT REAL PEOPLE AND REAL PROBLEMS
Review: This was a book that I had to read for an advanced placement english class. I hate reading. This book was boring at first and I couldn't understand it. But as I got into it I realized that these were a bunch of loser guys with no prospects and decide to be a bit rebellious. It was amazingly written for a book that didn't seem to have a strong storyline. If your feeling down and like a loser-read this and I can promise you'll feel much cooler to the Bedwetters.

Summary: Something For Everyone
Review: To really enjoy this book I think you have to be in the right mindset-for people expecting a childish adventure or mature pyschological interpretation, disappointment is all you're goign to get out of the book. I however, enjoyed it immensely, and thought it was touching and raw. Not only did it present the characters as incredibly human, but I liked the flashbacks that detailed who the characters were and their past. This isn't the greatest book for readers who don't appreciate this style, so if you don't like a story with a deeper meaning (and a little child pyschology) then you're out of luck. And for the reviewers who read this book in English classes, etc. and did not enjoy it-perhaps that's because your taste isn't mature enough to appreciate it!

Summary: A good entertaining read...
Review: Well...in 8th grade my whole class dreaded seeing this book placed before them as they learned that they had to read this book. As we glanced at each other walking out of the classroom....we all knew that we would wait unti the last minute to read this book. My english teacher (seeing that everyone wasn't reading the book) decided to force the class to read the book for the whole period. We all got into it....and suprisingly really enjoyed the read. Glendon Swarthout can write description so well in so little words...that...it doesn't make the book boaring. However, once or twice you can get thrown off by the flash backs... but... my advice to anyone reading this book is that after every chapter...REALLY THINK about what you just read!
