Summary: No Love Lost
Review: This is one of the most captivating books I have ever read. After I received this book as a present, I simply could not put it down. Each author explored the trials and tribulations of love and how one can gain or lose love. The only other book that I have previously read was If This World Were Mine E. Lynn Harris. I simply have to give it up for these four brothers, not for just keeping it real, but for giving so much depth to what many consider a simple subject. I'm going to read each solo project that I can get my hands on.

Summary: Innovative and Talented
Review: I found the idea of four contemporary writers gettting together to write a book of short love stories, extremely innovative. My favorites are EJD and e lynn. I hadnt read anything by the other two authors but I was extremely interested. The first story by my #1 favorite, was very romantic, and I loved it. I could picture Alejandria and I'd love to meet her myself. The goodbye at the airport was touching and I felt as though I was leaving a loved one. I thought it was great, but it would have been nice to see what happened to John. Kenya and Amir was nice, comical at times, and I really enjoyed it. This was my first sample of Mr. Majors work, and it sparked my interest enough for me read one of his novels. e lynn's story was smooth as usual, but the sex was a little too graphic for my tastes. I'm not a prude, but I would have preferred a milder form of sexual description in this novel. I love e lynn, and I did get into the story. I'll always be a fan and I'll always support his work. As for Colin Channer's work. I'm not familiar with it. This was my first experience, and although he has an enormous vocabulary, it was hard for me to get into the story. At times I found it too descriptive and had to keep reading it over to make sure I got it. Im an avid reader and I thought my comprehension was fine, but I was challenged. Ill give him a chance though, and I'll buy one of his novels. On the whole, the book was pretty good and I think it was a good idea. Keep up the good work.

Summary: This book is a must have.
Review: Colin Channer and Marcus Major have written two great stories.

Colin Channer lived up to to the great repution that he got from his first novel "Waiting In Vain" and he has again written a wonderful and complex story. This one is about a man who is caught between reviving his musical career through a sexy but finatical singer "Patience", and pursuing his first wife who left him because of his dedication to music and his infidelity. The story goes into the mind of a musical prodigy and takes us from New York to Jamaica and shows a man who is forced to deal with his past in order to face the future. The discriptions are vivid and lyrical, especially the love scenes and the story is always moving forward. The characters are real and you can almost feel their thoughts. The story is unlike anything seen in contemporary black fiction today and for that I must say thank you Mr channer for raising the bar for all writers.

Marcus Major takes the regular boy meets girl, fall in love but still cheats and gets caught and has to work his way back into the sisters heart but he really does a great job and the the story does work and hold you to the end and leaves you wanting more.

I was really disappointed in Eric Jerome Dickie's story, as I have read some of his other works and they were good but in this story, he knew nothing about Photography or Mexico and I am still looking for the love in his story, "if you can call it that".

E. Lyn Harris?, lol sorry not my cup of tea but word is that it is a great story.

Summary: Four different stories, Four different styles
Review: but the one that stands out is I'm Still Waiting by Colin Channer. A story of love lost and found in the beautiful serenity of Jamaica. Michael Chinsee is a man lost of spirt and movitivation until he meets Patience, a songstress who needs a miracle worker to turn her career around. THe two begin to work together forming a bond based on their appreciation for music, but this isn't enough and Michael knows it for sure when he runs into his first love Mia who is now married to someone else. The first thing Mia wants to know is why she wasn't enough for Michael when they were young and married. Now 45 years old, she is a woman ready to give herself to Michael completely. Their love is rekindled and soon must pay the consequences. The story was rich in detail especially when it came to the love scenes. This is Mr. Channer's fortay. No one can make a love scene last three pages and still leave you wanting more. Look forward to your new book Mr. Channer. Bravo!

Summary: Got to Be Real - How refreshing
Review: I am really pleased that there are four men that are not afraid to write a story about romance and call it a love story. The stories are wonderful and it is really nice to hear a man's point of view from a man. After reading "Good People" by Marcus Major, I think it was everyone's dream to find out how the player "Amir" had found his true love "Kenya". Marcus Major's satisfied our curiosity in Got to Be Real where he went back to when they first met. I have read that story over and over. Congratulations to all the authors who participated in this project and opened the door so more male authors will think about writing "love stories."

Summary: Much Love
Review: I was very impressed with all of the short stories, in that each was distict and complete. Eric and E. Lynn had much scandal as ever, Marcus' story was great, and Colin's story read as if it should have been spoken word. The authors did a great job expounding on the intricacies of relationships and real love.
