Summary: Love stories among great authors
Review: Got to Be Real was a collection of love stories that I enjoyed reading by some great authors !

While Eric and E.Lynn are proven to be great authors. Marcus was not left alone ! I am not sure what to think about Colin's story ! I tried on two different times to finish it with out luck ! This is one reason it has taken me so long to post on this novel ! I am not sure, maybe I should have read Waitin in Vain first to understand Still Waiting ! However I will rate Eric 's story as 4*

E.Lynn 's story 4.5 and Marcus story was truly a 5* read ! Kudoos to you Marcus and please keep the good job up ! I can't help but wonder what happen to me with Colin's story ! Was it only me that had a problem with his story ? I will have to pull Waiting in Vain out of my tbr pile to see if it makes a difference.

What a great book to have released on my birthday !

Summary: Marcus....
Review: As an avid reader, I was excited to learn about this book. However, it was someone whose writing that I was not familiar with that captured my heart, and that was Marcus Major. I loved his writing style, it just flowed effortlessly.

Kenya and Amir's story is the everyman story. We have all been there, and can relate to them on some level. However it was Amir and the boys at the barbershop that made me realize the thinking that goes on in the brain of the man! Amir's mother was also a gem!

So while I enjoyed the other novellas as well, I will have to give my thumbs up to Marcus', whose earlier works I will be eagerly seeking out.

Summary: Got to be Real
Review: If you are the type of reader who likes a book you simply can not put down you need to read Got to Be Real. This book is brutally honest about life. While all of the stories are different they can all relate to you in some way. All of the writers did an excellent job making the stories real, exciting, and funny. Marcus Major's story about Kenya and Amir was my absolute favorite. Almost everyone woman has run across an Amir type, and if you haven't then he's coming! Overall, this was a great book. Now I'm looking forward to reading Good Peoples by Major.

Summary: From the 1st story to the last, you won't put this one down!
Review: For readers of contemporary African American fiction, Got To Be Real is definitely a must-read. With the exception of a few typos, the stories are well written and each one of them will move you to want more from these authors, particularly Marcus Major and E.Lynn Harris. For anyone who's played and paid in love, Major's Kenya and Amir will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions that will make you think twice before you stick that hand in the bushes again. His story is tight, beautiful and yet deeply emotional. Harris' Money Can't Buy Me Love is E.Lynn at his absolute best! Anyone with a dry eye after reading either of these two stories needs to get their heartrate checked ASAP!

Summary: Lyrical and Touching
Review: I didn't know what to expect from a book of love stories written by four men. I was pleasantly surprised and thoroughly entertained. Each story had a different rhythm, the words of love danced off the pages. I loved it. I was especially touched by the relationship between Michael and Mia Fortuna in "I'm Still Waiting". It made me cry because I felt it on so many levels. Can a man really be that in tune to the inner workings of a woman?

I've been an avid fan of E. Lynn Harris and Eric Jerome Dickey for years. Colin Channer's words are lyrical, their melody makes me want to dance. I look forward to reading the next offering from Marcus Major.

"Got To Be Real" is like cuddling with a warm blanket. Enjoy it as much as I did.

Summary: very good
Review: I really enjoyed this book. Each author did a very good job. The stories were enticing and kept me turning the pages. This was a very good book, and I would recommend it everyone. The only problem that I had with this book was that whoever did the proofreading for the authors, especially, Eric Jerome Dickey, did a really poor job in doing so, but other than the misspellings and failure to add punctuation, this was a wonderful book.

Summary: Four Approaches to Love
Review: These four authors examine love through varied approaches. Eric Jerome Dickey proves that love crosses all language and cultural barriers. His story of love found in Baja California really hit home for this California girl. E.Lynn Harris is always exceptional in showing the flip side of how men deal with love, uncompromisingly true to themselves. Marcus Majors unique way of showing that even the most confirmed player knows when to stop playing and be real or lose his only chance at real love. Lastly, Colin Channer my favoriate, weaves a tale of inner struggle and victory to recoup love once lost. His descriptions and dialogue is wonderful, making the reader beg for more. I have read his works with delight and glee. I am a great fan of all four of these authors. A must read if you like romance from the male perspective.

Summary: Two Snaps Up!
Review: This book was refreshing. I enjoyed all of the writers. I picked up this book because I saw the names on the cover. Eric, E Lynn, Marcus. Having never heard of Colin Channer before I was curious to read his work. In my humble opinion, they saved the best for last!

It was at first difficult to follow, then I began to relax and go with his flow. I understand now why I had a hard time. I was screaming at the rhythm to talk to me.. When I needed to be still and let it whisper to me. Page 300 is the most insightful description of how a woman feels when she is with a man she loves making love to, that It blew me away. I couldn't believe that a man wrote it.

As a note to all of you avid readers. I took the time to let Mr. Channer know that I enjoyed his work. He took the time to let me know that he appreciated my words of encouragement. I used the E-mail address in the back of the book and he was so kind as to respond. I recommend that readers take the time to show that they appreciate the writers talent.

Thunderous applause from Albuquerque New Mexico.

Mr. Channer you have a fan for life.

Summary: No Love Lost Here
Review: This book is one that I couldn't put down.. I'm waiting for a volume 2.I stayed up to the wee hours of the morning trying to finish story after story. First of all, each and every one of these brothers is talented. I felt like I was watching a movie as the plot unfolded in each story. The most important thing was that these four brothers gave so much meaning and depth to a subject that most take lightly, love. Each story told of the trials and tribulations of love. I didn't know men could have an understanding of the subject(j/k)....It's just a must read!
