Review: This was my first Clive Cussler book and let just say that I'm hooked.I couldn't wait to get to the bookstore to get the next one.The only problem I had was chosing the next one.DIRK PITT is like James Bond,but he takes it to the next level.DIRK is always thinking and going non-stop.He bounces from Iceland to the South Pole then to Texas.DIRK is always in the right place at right time.If you want a page turner this is it!

Review: this is the first cussler book i have read and i just do not understand why he is so popular. the idea was a good one, but the writing and the plotline were just awful. this is the kind of book which makes me want to give up my day job and start writing thrillers myself, because i cannot see how i could produce anything as unconvincing and wooden as this.

Review: Since the beginning of being able to read I hadn't found a book to satify my historical needs as well as my entertaiment needs! But here we go, a book, packed with history, packed with entertaiment and I read it. A MUST for every Cussler fan, a MUST for every history fiction fan. 100% pure thrill!!!! Keep it up Clive!

Summary: Fantastic! Bring on the Dixieland band!
Review: I've read every Dirk Pitt book to date, but this one has to be the best. Treasure has everything you could want from a Dirk Pitt novel, the mix or locations, action, and a wonderful last scene, there's just so much plot! I've seen people describe these books as shallow and unrealistic, but if you want realism, look out of the window, not in a Cussler book. What more can I say, fantastic stuff, keep them coming.

Summary: Mystery to me...
Review: I felt the same way about this book that I felt about books that I was forced to read in Junior High; you feel you have to read them to get some sort of credit (grade), but there is no real enjoyment involved. I had to read this book (not this particular book, but any cussler book) to see what the big deal was. I had seen people read him on the bus I ride to work and I read a few of the reviews here and wanted to see if I was missing anything. Turns out I wasn't. I read Treasure with disappointment and started Shock Wave but couldn't finish it (got to page 78 before my interest just simply dwindled away). I wish someone could articulate (without the flowery prose contained in these reviews) what this guy's attraction is. I found him to be totally lacking in the skills that writers such as Tom Clancy and Thomas Harris show so effortlessly. His audience seems to be foursquare in their praise for him, however, and that mystifies me. It really does...

Summary: Wow-and then some
Review: Being the first cussler book I read, and reading it after reading entire Jack Ryan collection by Clancy, I was skeptical. This book was something that blew my mind. I enjoyed reading it, and the humor that was inserted was something that gave the book a really light touch. The detail was riveting, and the way the story unfolds with such realism was a great refresher for me. Cussler's books, a cross between Clancy's political aspects and James bond's espiuonage really won me over. I am now on my second, flood tide, and am 3/4 the way through it in just over a day. This book is great.

Review: I have read some great books, but Treasure tops them all! No other author can keep the reader on the edge of his seat like Cussler. Every novel I read from here on out will surely pale in comparison. I absolutely recommend this book to anybody that enjoys suspense, action, and many wonderful plots!

Summary: Bad premise, bad writing!
Review: How does this man continue to sell books? I was given this book by a friend of mine who was amazed that I had never heard of the great Dirk Pit. After reading the book I, in turn, was amazed that an adult could read this stuff and actually admit that he/she liked it. If this is the type of 'literature' that people are buying, then I'm happy to say that I am no longer in the mainstream of best-seller buyers (although I don't recall Clive Cussler's name being associated with any so-called Best-Seller lists)

Review: THIS IS THE THIRD CUSSLER NOVEL I HAVE READ AND MY FAVORITE TO DATE. AS ALWAYS, CUSSLER WEAVES A FANTASTIC TALE OF ACTION ADVENTURE COMBINED WITH SOME REAL QUESTIONS. "WHAT IMPACT WILL THE DISCOVERY OF A LOST TREASURE HAVE ON CURRENT SOCIETY?" TREASURE PROVIDES A VERY INTERESTING, FAST PACED READ. A MUST FOR CUSSLER FANS OR A GREAT INTRODUCTION TO THE AUTHOR.

Summary: THE first and so far best i read from clive cussler!!!
Review: This was a great story!!!Although this was the first book i've read from Clive,the story was so brilliantly place together,an archealogical find in ice capped greenland to discovery of how the roman empire was expanded beyond what the history books tell you.Don't forget the attempt to kill Hala kamil,mexican president Delorenzo.The only fault with this book was at times the story can get unbelievable,but still this was a great story.
