Summary: A delightful provocative book full of wonderful suprises
Review:

Nick Bantock's trilogy explores the correspondence and relationship between graphic artist Griffin Moss and "Sabine," a mysterious artist from an exotic distant island. "Griffin & Sabine," the first in this excellent trilogy, chronicles the growing closeness and intimacy of two strangers with an unusual connection: It seems that as Griffin draws in his studio in London, Sabine sees his sketches emerge in her mind's eye thousands of miles away.

Bantock's book is a marvel of beautiful illustrations, sublime and interesting correspondence and, best of all, his choice of media is refreshing and exciting. Each page of the book represents a colorful postcard, with the reverse of the page revealing a hand-written note from Sabine or Griffin. As their relationship blossoms, envelopes appear; hand painted, with stationery that each has decorated in their own unique way. The reader finds himself eagerly removing a letter from the envelope and realizing that through his clever and innovative use of media Bantock has drawn us into his story in a wonderful and exciting way.

For sheer entertainment, thoughtful insight into how relationships develop, and a new smile or pleased gasp on every page, this book is an absolute must. I look forward to reading the remainder of the series

Summary: Why you should give this one a chance
Review: A friend of mine let me borrow his copy of this book and I have held him in reverence ever since. This is one of the most interesting, beautiful, imaginative things I have ever read. If you are not at first gripped by the fascinating artwork of Nick Bantock himself, you will love the pull out letters.

Summary: What a disappointment
Review: After hearing people rave about this book I finally shelled out the dough to buy it. What a stupid book. The art wasn't "great" or even intersting and the story was dull. BORING, don't waste your money!

Summary: Only had the first book
Review: After reading the book, I couldn't believe my husband hadn't suggested that I buy the entire trilogy. I couldn't wait to find out how the saga continued. Who are these seekers? What is their connection and will it be the best for them to meet? If you are interested in the first book, buy the entire set - you will be interested in finishing them all.

The art work is a wonderful addition to the story.

Summary: The Griffin & Sabine Trilogy is marvellous!
Review: An intriguing exchange between a young artist living in London, England & a free spirit from another part of the world in the form of interactive books of letters in envelopes, pictures & postcards.

Griffin Moss is a postcard artist whose life is lived in images - letting his pictures speak the thousand words he'd rather not face. Imagine receiving a postcard from someone you have not met, someone who knows what you have just drawn in your collection.

Griffin, naturally, writes a polite postcard back to this new voice from half a world away & so begins a magical & mystical "getting to know you" replete with stamps & visions that leave you dizzy & thirsty for more.

In the three books, you learn more & more about Griffin & Sabine, their worlds, their strengths, their fears & their magic.

Nick Bannock completes The Griffin & Sabine Trilogy in his inimitable whimsical way, leaving our imaginations throbbing with vitality & possibility.

You will find no more fantastic a gift for letter-writing friends & lovers than this trilogy. I am impressed & madly in love with it all.

Summary: an intriguing correspondence with a mysterious ending
Review: As I read other reviews of this book, I am a little confused as to what everyone thinks of the ending of the series. Especially whatever person said he didnt care if he understood it or not. I loved the books, I just wish there was some other kind of commentary on the conclusion of it besides my own....

Summary: a beautiful collection, worth more than a 5 star rating
Review: From the moment I opened the first book of this trilogy, I was in love. A beautiful, mysterious story drawn out in real letters and postcards. The story is only heightened by the breathtaking artwork on each page. I highly recommend these books, and that you read them in order. Each has a sudden and mysterious ending that leaves you yearning for more.

Summary: For nosy romantics . . .
Review: GRIFFIN & SABINE is the ultimate gift for the naturally curious. This peek into the correspondence between two people - with letters to open, postcards to read, handwriting to decipher - gives the reader the sensation of having stumbled upon a romantic mystery to which only the individual reader is privvy. The story is nothing much, but the discovery of it is exquisite. The art used to development the concept is engaging and not at all cutesy. Because of its interactive nature, this book feels intimately known, privately owned, a secret kept closed between the covers.

This is a great gift book. If you are looking for substantial reading, skip this, but if you want a diversion, something to explore and take in visually, this book is for you.
