Rating: Summary: SOMEONE PASS ME MORE STARS PLEASE!! Review: This was a excellent debut book by Shannon Holmes. This was the type of book you absolutely can not put down. The plot had a twist in it that just came totally out of left field. One of the main characters Netta, is the type of character you start off not caring for but eventually you understand where she is coming from and the reason why she is the way she is. Some people may say that books of this genre glamourize the street life, but I totally disagree. This book shows you that fast money is all it is "Fast Money" from the male who is out slinging on the street and from the female who is waiting at home to be Gucci and Dior down. It also shows you how it can destroy you and the people close to you. Shannon Holmes I hope you are somewhere in a secluded cabin, writing your next novel because I desperately await more novels from you. Keep up the good work and God Bless!!
Rating: Summary: A Must Read!! Review: This book was deep. It all seemed so real, like I was caught right in the middle of the "game"... If you enjoyed the Coldest Winter Ever, or True to the Game, then this is a MUST read!!! The creativity, and realness of this book is breath taking. It shows the young want to be thugs how raw these streets really are, and how powerful the game really is...
Rating: Summary: Good but something was missing Review: This book is very good I just thought something was missing. The plot was good the ending was good all in all it tells you that if live by it you die by it
Rating: Summary: GHETTO-FABULOUS Review: If you are a fan of "True to the Game", then here is another story for you. "B-more Careful" was fun, and at times suspenseful to read. It's attraction - real life. These are stories that you see everyday - particularly here in Baltimore. Netta and her gang wanted a better life. And they used the only thing they had to get it - their bodies. Black's was consumed by greed and his love for his father drove him to insanity. MiMi was driven by jealous. But was it really worth it all. It is always fun to read stories such as these but my only concern is when will somebody come up with a solution. All of the controvery over whether it is true or fictional and the alleged law suits that are being filed should give you some sort of hint. Peace and Blessings!!
Rating: Summary: Shannon- where do you get your info? Review: I have not recvd my copy of the book yet but will read it in it's entirety. However on page 276, Shannon writes directly about my man. A man he/she doesn't know. Yes the character is named 'Nard but everyone in Baltimore knows it's in reference to Dennis. Next book you write Shannon, get the facts right or don't choose real events and distort them for a profit. Dennis has a family in Baltimore still.
Rating: Summary: Definently worth the money Review: this book is definently worth the money. If you like the storys about life in the streets of the ghetto then read this book.
Rating: Summary: simply.. the truth Review: The book is really really good. It's not a love story like true to the game but it simply delivers the truth, with no sugar coated toppings, after reading this I had a whole different perspective on life, love, and life in the fast lanes
Rating: Summary: The Bomb Review: This was one of the best book I ever read besides True to the Game. Netta and the Pussy Pound were some tight ladies and had it going on. I got this book on Thursday and was done by Friday night. I could not pull myself away from it,I just wanted to keep knowing more about Netta,Tone,Black,Mimi, and the rest of the gang. I highly encourage everyone to read this book. I promise you won't be ble to put it down...
Rating: Summary: B-more Careful Review: Every page I turned I felt I knew the characters and they kept jumping off the page at me. Shannon had my full intention and the book was read in one day. Keep the saga going because "our" generation needs to hear the truth in a language they can relate to. I recommend everybody to pass it on to someone who is headed in the wrong directions with the streets.
Rating: Summary: No Place Like Home! Review: Being a Baltimore native, born and raised this book confirmed what so many of us have lived and still live through. Shannon Holmes takes you straight to the streets and keeps it real, no shorts. This book was written well and I could not put it down. For those who think it was a little too fictional or so wild you couldnt believe things that occured could really happen...belive me B-more is real.... Sometimes reality is too hard for some of us to handle....I say Kudos to Ms. Holmes...Do your thang Girl! Peace and Blessings
