Summary: B-More Thorough
Review: I enjoyed the book, especially in the beginning. It reminded me of Sista Soulja's book The Coldest Winter..... Although (and maybe it's just me)I did find typos in the book and incomplete thoughts. I expected to learn more about the other members in "The Pound." Besides Mimi and Netta, the only thing we learned about the other members was the complexion of their skin, who they were messing with (First Chapter), and the fact that they were down w/the game of gold digging and scheming. We learned more about the extra (if you want to call them that) characters in the book besides the characters who were in "The Pound." The part I didn't like is after Black beat Netta, the book seemed to turn into a soap opera. It kind of lost its reality touch. In all a good read. I would like to give it 3.5 stars.

Summary: Excellent Book
Review: As soon as I got the book I could not put it down. It took me a day and a half to read this book. This was an excellent book to read. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves to read books regarding the streets.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: GOOD, BUT DISSAPOINTED ENDING
Review: I personally didn't think this book was just some ghetto fairytale. There was a lot of messages in this book. I was
deeply touched by some of the things that happen in this book.

Being deprived for so long, caused Netta to become very greedy, to the point where it almost took her life. Besides her greed which I think was her only flaw,I think she was a beautiful person with good heart and great ambitions. Not many people would manage to finish school living the way she was. Also, doing what she did for her mom. Netta and Mimi were my two favorite characters. Although Mimi had her flaws(Jealousy and a low self esteem)I still liked her. She was a weak person who always needed someone behind her. And Netta was that person. She was just a poor soul.

In the beginning, I kind of liked black. After Nard gave him control of that spot, I saw that monster comming out of him. From that point on, I start hating him. I understand what Netta did was wrong, but that black was ruthless.

Although I did enjoy this book and could not put it down, I was dissapointed with the end. I don't think she should've been the one responsible for that person's life in the end. After all the trouble she had gone through as a child, and two encounters with death, I don't think it was fear for her to live life with such a heavy load on her concious. I felt bad fer her and the victim. I understand this book is not your typical happily ever after type book, but I felt that the end didn't have to be so sad. I was deeply touched. It's been a week since I've read the the book, and I'm just now getting over it.

Shannon I really love your work. Just try not to make the ending so sad next time.

Summary: "THEY'VE GOT IT GOING ON"
Review: I ENJOYED BOTH TRUE TO THE GAME AND B-MORE CAREFUL. IT TOOK ME 1 1/2 DAY TO READ BOTH BOOKS. AFTER READING BOTH I PASSED THEM ON TO MY SISTERS. I'M WAITING FOR THEIR NEXT RELEASE, WHICH I HOPE WILL BE SOON.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Be more careful
Review: It was very entertaining. It made you actually see what some women will do for money and the repercussions is may have trying to get over on someone.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: YOU MUST READ THIS B-MORE CAREFUL
Review: This book was oh so very good. It keep my attention and I just couldn't put it down. I read this book in like 2 days. If I didn't need sleep or had to work I would had read it in one day. I lived in B-more and I could relate to the streets, and the fast life. I myself didn't live a fast life but I had some girlfriends that did. Everything was like oh my goodness, so true. I must say Terri and Shannon yall got to keep kicking those books out, keep me reading. It's like now I don't know what to read next, cause I can't find anything to top Shannon's book.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: GOOD.....BUT ??
Review: I will say this book was a good read....BUT there was something missing, and I think it was that Shannon took to long introducing each character. Overall the book was good, not as good as "TRUE TO THE GAME"....The Ending Will Leave You Shocked if you are not paying attention to what you are reading !!!!!!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: OK BUT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER
Review: I am a native of Baltimore and I have read all of the "street life" books from the Coldest Winter to True to the Game and there is another one out there that everyone has yet to acknowledge Yo-Yo Love by Daaimah Poole.(an excellent book and very well written)

B-more careful to me, and I think I am criticing this so hard because I read a lot. I think it could have been a better written story. First of all reading the back of the cover you would think the book is going to be about these group of girls that call themselves the "PUSSY POUND" that's all fine and good but if I am not mistaken it is several members of the "PUSSY POUND" other then Netta and Mimi so why is it that the plot only circles around those two characters, and the "MEN" that they dealt with in "THE GAME"?

The book has protential and the only reason why it keeps you reading is because Ms. Holmes has your attention so you want to know what happens all the way to the end. That is the only reason why I kept reading. I was very disappointed in this book, because Meow Meow is the same company that published Terri Woods and that is used to get your attention so that you can read the book, but Terri Woods book is not to be compared to this. True to the Game had a whole lot more "GAME" then B-more Careful. Besides if you are a good writer then you work should speak for itself, there is no need to have to use another arthor to promote your book. If you are good you are good. I know there are going to be people that read this and not agree with my review but we all are entitled to our own opinions and I not doing no more then the next person has done, just voiced my review. All I can say is good luck on your next book you write Ms. Holmes and maybe that one will be a whole lot better then this one and I hope that what ever topics you decide to write about in your book you make sure you bring closure to all the situations that you put out there for your readers,as well as yourself.

Summary: off the hook
Review: this is a very good book. it put true to the game to shame. if you read this book you will feel every bit of mimi's, netta's and black's life.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: the book that is real
Review: the book is telling you how it is here in Baltimore and all over the world. I heard some people say that the book is true I would like to know if it is true. all the young people out here should read this book, Because it tells a very true story. I grew up also right here in baltimore md and there are some mean streets out here. Shannon you have done a good job on this book, I hope that you write the next one just as good. Good luck Shannon.
