Summary: THIS IS A ...GOOD NOVEL THAT EVERYBODY SHOULD READ!!!!
Review: I THOUGHT THE NOVEL "THE COLDEST WINTER EVER" BY SISTER SOULJAH WAS THE "BOMB", "B MORE CAREFUL" BY SHANNON HOLMES, IS THE "STRAIGHT UP THE BOMB" DEFINTELY VERY WELL WRITTEN, I HATED THAT THE BOOK ENDED, I WANTED TO KEEP GOING........THIS IS A BOOK THAT YOU CAN'T PUT DOWN....A MUST HAVE. THE BOOK REALLY KEEPS IT REAL, TELLING WHAT LIFE ON THE STREET IS ALL ABOUT, THE GOLD DIGGERS, HUSTLERS, JUNKIES, ECT.......TRUST ME U CAN'T GO WRONG WITH READING THIS NOVEL, U WON'T BE ABLE TO PUT IT DOWN FROM CHAPTER 1 TIL THE END.......

Summary: THE PUSSY POUND???
Review: B-MORE CAREFUL is written in the style of Teri Woods' earlier novel, THE NAME OF THE GAME. The similarities are immediately obvious, and her editing hand is definitely in it. This book is fast-paced, street-smart, hip-hop and ghetto fabulous.

The story takes place in Baltimore (B-More) and centers around the illegal drug trade, its established hustlers, its wannabes and the women (pussy pound) who cling to the drug lords for the notoriety and the easy money.

B-MORE CAREFUL attempts to show the glamorous side of the drug crime life through the eyes of the ghetto woman by the putting emphasis on flashy jewelry, designer clothes, expensive cars and exciting nightlife. For the most part, this book dwells on the benefits of material things. It highlights greed, envy, jealousy and revenge. It almost totally avoids emotions such as love and commitment.

This novel deserves credit for showing the gritty side of crime, the constant disloyalties, murders, and the ensuing prison sentences. To that end, the author does not spare the reader.

Summarily, the language was coarse and limited and the book truly needed a professional editor. Otherwise, it was a good book. Shannon Holmes has a writing future.

Summary: OFF the HOOK!!!
Review: This book is off the hinges! It keeps you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. Mr. Holmes has truly out done himself. Netta and her crew are most definitely true to their game and so is Black. The characters are vicious. I mean, my heart was racing midway and towards the end. I read the book in 1 1/2 days. You will not want to put it down. Well done Mr. Holmes, well done. Waiting impatiently for your next novel.

Summary: It is a dynamic first book!!!
Review: This book could have knocked my socks off! I read an article on the author in The Source (by the way, the author is a HE!!) and my niece read the book first and recommended it to my book club. Well, well, well Mr. Holmes, you have yourself a winner! This book keeps the reader interested and enthralled from beginning to end and is jam-packed with surprises. My only problem with this book is the HORRIBLE EDITING! I wish nothing but the best for the Publisher, Teri Woods, but you are not doing Mr. Holmes or yourself any favors by continuing to release terribly edited books (your book, Ms. Woods, is DEFINITELY INCLUDED.) Punctuation, grammar, fragmented sentences and the list goes on and on - all these things can be found in the book. I have read numerous comments that this book is just as good or better than The Coldest Winter Ever. I will not ever agree with that sentiment. Sista Souljah's book is well-written, edited and an example that you would wish to follow. That is why I can not give this book five stars. Please know Mr. Holmes, that I do sincerely anticipate your next book.

Summary: A great book
Review: I just finished the book I found it to be excellent I agree with the other reviews regarding the editing but I understood it enough to enjoy it. I felt for Netta in the beginning when she was trying to survive I did not like her greedy, gold-digging ways I also did not like what she did to Black which she paid a heavenly price for but i glad she found love in Tone even though it ended up being tragic in the end but that goes to show what goes around comes around. Black was a man not to be played with I found him to be ruthless to some extent I felt for him especially when Netta betrayed him but he took it too far and also paid for it in the end. Mimi was a sad case I didn't like how she was very envious of Netta but that goes to show you beauty is only skin deep you have to love who you are on the inside and not look for someone to love you first. But it was a great read I hope to read more from MMP.

Summary: Great book, poor editing
Review: Great book! B-more careful is the story of four teenage girls in Baltimore. Shannon Holmes writes this book using very descriptive and colorful writing. Having gone to school in Baltimore, I felt like getting on the next flight out!

This book has been compared to The Coldest Winter Ever, but I think it's better. Netta and her crew leave you anxious to see how each story will unfold. This book tells the truth about and explains the motives of the inner city and the young men and women growing up in it.

The only downfall to this book is the editing. It can be quite frustrating and distracting. After reading, I even wanted to volunteer my editing expertise to Ms. Holmes.

Summary: Bmore Careful Could Not Bmore Better

Summary: BLAZIN'!!
Review: FIRST I MUST SAY THAT THIS BOOK WAS OFF THE CHAIN! I READ THIS BOOK IN 1 DAY. AFTER READING THE COLDEST WINTER EVER, I JUST THOUGHT THAT NO OTHER BOOK COULD COMPARE...WAS I SO WRONG! I COULD FEEL NETTA'S PAIN AND I COULD ALSO FEEL THE WRATH OF BLACK (DUDE WAS BUGGED OUT) BUT IN ALL ACTUALITY, THIS IS HOW THE GAME GETS DOWN. I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH ,THAT IM GOING TO READ IT AGAIN, BUT FIRST I'M GOING TO PASS IT ON SO OTHERS CAN FEEL THIS BOOK. SHANNON HOLMES PUT HIS THING DOWN ON THIS RIGHT CHERE'...THIS IS WAS BLAZIN AND DEFINATELY ON POINT!!

Summary: Eyecatcher
Review: This book was excellent! I haven't read a book this good, since Coldest Winter Ever. It definitely gets down to the life in the fast lane. It ends with the thought, that all good things don't last forever, and what goes around comes around. Keep up the good work, Shannon!
