Summary: B-More Careful: A Novel
Review: This book will get five stars from me. I live in the Washington, D.C./Balitmore Area so everything felt like home to me. The mentality, the clothing, the locations.....everything. I am not really into reading books, but when a girlfriend referred this book, I decided to read it. And let me tell you, from the beginning to the end I was stuck. Found my self reading it in bed at night. So if you enjoy REALNESS within a book, this book is for you. I will admit there were errors in the writing of the book but that made it even better...to show the rawness at stake. I am going to promote this book!

Summary: pageturner
Review: I am an avid reader so this page turner was easy to finish within two days. I have friends who rarely enjoy reading books but were hooked when they opened up the book after I passed it on. The editing could have been better but Shannon Holmes did an excellent job of making the streets come to life. She did not hold back for the sake of a 'happy ending' which is what made the book so real and easy to read because you couldn't guess what was going to happen next. My bookclub read this book and we were all pleased. Looking forward to the next one!

Summary: A true page turner
Review: Oh my my my, that's all I can say about this book. It was passed on to me by a co-worker, which in turn was passed on to her from her mother. I am not to fond of reading fiction works - but this one was truly a page turner. I started reading it in the airport and finished it on the plane. This books goes into the lives of various characters - their drug and sex addictions and habits. Their friendships. The loves - or what they beleive to be love. And the cruel mishaps to a person who at first I thought deserved it, but once "what goes around comes around" came around - I felt sorry for her. This is a good piece of work by the author. Kudo's to Shannon Holmes. I will be waiting for the next book, impatiently!!!

Summary: Couldn't "B" Better
Review: This book was off the chain. I loved how the author forsaked proper grammer and puncuation, choosing to right the story like words that flow from the mouth. It gave the book a definite feel of reality and I read it conversation style, deeply in touch with the characters. The narration lifted me - first person would have done no justice for this tale. Instead of just sticking with a one-sided story of the main character, background information was provided about all of the supporting characters as well - present, past, future - I loved it. I felt like I was there at times, feeling their pain and struggles. What a heart racing, page-turning, provacative book!!! I'd much rather have it in the palm of my hands than be a witness to such harsh reality!

Summary: A really good book
Review: I am not really interested in reading fiction, but I must say that when a co-worker had passed this book on to me that was passed on from her mother - I was interested. This book was truly a page turner. I started reading it in the airport and finished the same day on the plane. It shows the black side of WOMEN who are trying to get paid, the sleazy games that they pay, and the ballers that they roll with. A must read.

Summary: Captivating and Truthful
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It was a page turner that kept me begging for more. The writer really brought the characters to life in this book, because I found myself talking to the book asking why they did one thing or the other. I give it a high score and refer anyone looking for a good book to read this!

Summary: Excellent Read
Review: Although the editing was poor, this book was one of the best that I've read this year. It was an interesting look into the lives and the world of B'more's finest hustlers and gold diggers. I like the way the story moved along, and it had my interest from start to finish. At first, I felt sorry for Netta, but as the story moved along, as bad as it was, she got was she deserved from Black. I felt the twist at the end with Netta and her father with Mimi was alittle too much, but all in all, great book. I'm looking for the sequel with Netta, Stink, Lil Tone and Lil Timmy!

Summary: THE BEST BOOK EVER!
Review: This book was mawgnificent! I plan to read this book, over and over again! Once I finished the book I was so mad, because I didnt want it to be over! The book is so real, especially if you're from the area, you can definetly relate! The streets the area, the insterstates, the malls, it's all so real and being from the area every time the author mentioned a street I was like "yeah I know that". From the beginning to the end you will love the book if you dont then something is wrong!

Much love & respect to Shannon Holmes, he held it down FOREAL!

Summary: Excellent
Review: I have read plenty of books, but this is one of my all time favorites. It's real. Not doubt about it. It can be compared with the "Coldest Winter Ever".

Summary: No Shame In The Street Game
Review: This book was indeed a page turner but if you are not a good reader then you will be lost and confused the story starts off in the present and then she takes you back to the past and on to the future but if you don't pay close attention to the present you will have no clue of whats going on in the future. Shannon Holmes has a great talent she just needs a little more patients and if she takes her time with writing and editing she will be the bomb. No doubt. A good read but you can not compare it to the coldest winter ever.
