Rating: Summary: Simply Beautiful Review: How refreshing it is to read poetry that does not come from an angry or political place. Mr. Fisher imagined a beautiful world for himself filled with love and beauty. I am so happy that Mr. Fisher restored my faith in the belief that art imitates life. Through his poetry I understand there is hope for us all.
Rating: Summary: I cried alright Review: I am sorry to say I did not like the book. It seemed like a little boy wrote it. I bought it for a friend. I reviewed and was gravely disappointed. As a poet myself, I understand poetic license, however Mr. Fisher needs his revoked. I think he only got published because he had some connections. The book had too many blank pages and poems too short. I wish I could give it a negative 1 star. I am all for supporting Black writing, this one I could not.
Rating: Summary: Poetry in name only Review: I just finished reading this book. Although the sentiment may be heart felt. The poetry is simply awful!
Rating: Summary: Bad Poetry Review: I just finished reading this book. Although the sentiment may be heart felt. The poetry is simply awful!
Rating: Summary: good! Review: i thought this book was extremely touching and those of you who say he hasn't had any experience in poetry, well what do you expect? If you saw the movie you would know what I am talking about. His style of using simple words adds to the beauty and story behind his poems. Who said poetry has to be confusing?

Rating: Summary: poetry Review: I truely believe that a poet should write from the heart. After reading these poems, I was captivated. It took the author courage to express his deepest emotions and desires and I admire Antwone's spirit. I am truely happy that Antwone has now found peace and success in his life.

Rating: Summary: Oh So Sweet, Yet Powerful Review: It is so wonderful that Antwone has included that beautiful title poem from the powerful movie Antwone Fisher in this collection. The poem Azure Indigo dances with delight as we understand that this man could have turned out not so tender, but he refused to have the sweetness crushed out of him. I applaud this poet, this man.
Rating: Summary: Poetry in name only Review: This book is chock full o' sentimentalities and raw emotion. However, Mr. Fisher clearly lacks any poetic ability to go beyond unrefined emotion, lacks the magical touch that transforms words into Art. Thus, many of the poems in the thankfully very short book feature excessively repetitive ideas lacking in depth. If you're a serious student of poetry, don't read this, it will not fail to disappoint you.
