Summary: Best book after the Bible itself!!
Review: Maria Valtorta (1897-1961) wrote over 15,000 pages longhand. When she died, her right hand that she had written with did not take on the palor of death. In the 1970's civil and ecclesiastical permission was granted to move her mortal remains from the family grave to the Basilica of the Annunciation in Florence, Italy, where her remains are now venerated. At the time of the transfer, her casket was opened to see if her body was incorrupt. The bones of her right hand were missing! Were they stolen, or did God take them?

Summary: This book kicks Biblical Butt
Review: My name is Scott O'leary. Before I read this book, I wasn't that religious. I always thought that going to church, and saying prayers in prayer groups was boring. The only reason I went to prayer groups was just eat the food (ha-ha-ha). When I was introduced to Poem of the Man-God, I was a little skeptical because of the plot. Before I read this book, my first thought was that the author imagined this and must've made up the lives and characters of Jesus and Mary. But when I actually read this, I said to myself: "No human being could've made up a story so believable, realistic, and accurate." I couldn't let go of the book. After six months, I actually finished all five volumes. At the end of the book, I was in tears. I said to myself: "Why was I not introduced to this book sooner? Because of this book, I now know who my Lord is." From that day on, I began to go to church every Sunday, and started participating in every prayer meeting. I am even telling people about this book, and encouraging them to read it. I have so many stories to tell about my friends conversions from this book, but there isn't enough room in this little box to tell about them. Basically, I gave this book to non-religious people (even Satanics), and all of them want to be Catholics now. When I saw that this book is out of print, I was a little upset, because they couldn't put a book, that would definitely change the world when it comes to believing in God, out of print. Well, all I have to say about this book, is that it changed my life, and off the record, it has been the best piece of Literature I have ever read. I definitely recommend this to people who want to know who God, Mary, the Apostles, the followers, and other characters that the church never recognised are.

Summary: Beautiful, sweet writings to convert to Jesus daily.
Review: Next to the Bible, this is the BEST book I have ever read. Each day one reads it, one is drawn closer to the Lord. The stories are hauntingly beautiful and peaceful. The visions created through Valtorta's descriptions are magnificent!! As a lay person and parent of 5 young children, this story adapts perfectly to all the problems I am faced with on a daily basis. The book has instilled in me the concept of "Daily Conversion"... being drawn closer to God with each day's passing.

Summary: An in-depth explanation and understanding of the Bible
Review: Purchasing this 5-volume collection of the life of Jesus did not prepare me for the amazing insight into the human side of Our Lord - even the descriptive way of his laughter brought me closer to Him! During the season of Lent, I read the entire Passion and was actually there, walking the streets to Calgary, realizing how much He suffered for ME, yet knowing only a God-Man could handle this much torture. Well-loved passages from the Bible are enhanced and described in detail that amazes and delights. These books affirm the existence of God in our world!

Summary: The best Book about Jesus' life besides the Holy Bible
Review: The Book written by Maria Valtorta about the life of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ is very good for understanding the universal love of God to us. In this book there are many unknown situations of Jesus' life on earth including things I've never understood as I read them in the Bible. And I believe that it is the truth that Jesus gave those visions to his servant Maria Valtorta because I've found all important situations of the New Testamony here, too. But they are explained in a very detailed way through the words of Jesus. In my opinion this book "THE MAN-GOD" written by Maria Valtorta is to be seen with the same importance as the four evangelia written by Mattheo, Mark, Luke and John. If you will read it you are able to feel this love of god to us.

Summary: Insightful excellent book for meditation, history & theology
Review: The depiction of lively conversations between Christ and his followers and the detailed description of the natural environment of first century Palestine increased my appreciation of the different characters of the apostles and disciples; the jovial artistic St. Thomas who cooked for the group on tours; the solemn elderly learned St. Bartholomew who had hard time accepting non-jews from a theoretical point of view, but was nevertheless so incredibly kind and fatherly ideal teacher to a former Gaelic slave girl; totally loving and humble St. John; wise, thoughtful and trusted St. Simon the Zealot; painfully shy but quietly heroic St. Andrew; St. Phillip who graciously accepted his daughters' pleas to become the first nuns for Christ; learned cultured and brilliant, but thoroughly humble, St. Matthew; and, of course, the short-tempered rock-honest St. Peter.

The active important roles of the shepherds of Bethlehem during Christ's public years are described in details: the network of the roaming mobile shepherds was the main trusted line of communication for Christ and his followers.

The beginning of lively Antioch Christian community, even during Christ's own time, is vividly depicted.

Many other characters in the Bible are given life through realistic inspiring Video-like views of events.

This book allows us to live and travel with Christ and his mother in the first century of this mellennium.

Summary: The revealed companion to the bible.
Review: This divinely revealed book provides many insights to every event in the life of Jesus, Mary, the holy family and His followers. It will change and deepen your faith and give you faith if you are searching.

Summary: The Passion
Review: This is about volume 5, which deals with the passion, the resurrection, and the glorification.

This book is based on the revelations to / visions of Maria Valtorta, and are far more detailed than the Bible. The whole set is five books totaling over 4,200 pages. Whether one should believe these visions or not I think you will find it inspiring all the same.

If you are interested in learning more about Jesus, you might find this to be very insightful, very detailed, filling in some knowledge gaps. Mostly, I get a very strong visual sense of all the characters as if I am looking at a visual portrait of all the events described.

If you were to buy even one of these books, you might naturally feel these things too, and more.

I must say I am very pleased with this book, and I highly recommend it.

Summary: This book will change you forever!
Review: This work is composed of 10 volumes. I started reading it when I was 28, I am now 46 and I'm reading it for the 15th time. I don't care if I will appear heretic, the point is that to me this sounds like the Gospel, smells like the Gospel, behave like the Gospel: YES, BECAUSE IT CHANGES YOUR LIFE FOREVER. The descriptions are so powerful that you not only see the Gospel as it would be described for our hungry souls of this new millenium, but, above all, MIGHTY positive forces, feelings, laughs and tears are evoked in our spirits, and we end up by entering the books and living hand in hand wiht Jesus, Mary, the Apostoles, the Jews, the Saints, the Sinners, Juda and all the specimen of humanity that were alive 2000 years ago, and that are alive today,in myself, in yourself. This is really a "neverending story". You cannot help: you desperately fall in love with the Christ, with His power, with His Charisma, with His Humility, with His might and His vulnerability. So distant, oh so distant from the Christ that is preached during the Sunday Mass, and so WONDERFULLY ALIVE that the only thing that is missing is the flesh. All the rest is there, shining like a diamond of eternal truth in the center of your heart. Mrs Valtorta in my opinion is a real Saint, her Great Literary Work (inspired from above, I am absolutely certain) is not only a masterpiece of literature, it is also the supreme, living quintessence of her life. If you want your life changed forever, then by all means purchase this book, take a few weeks from whatever is stealing from your spirit at this time, and immerse yourself in the warm vibrations of this version of the Gospel. YOU WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!
