Summary: The Trilogy is Complete!!!
Review: The Last Full Measure continues the spirit of Gods and Generals and Killer Angels. The whole series has been so intriguing that I read each book in a matter of days. Both Shaaras bring you so close to all of the characters that every chapter you find yourself hoping for the other side.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Both books by this title are great!
Review: Wow. Like the other books in the series, this one is outstanding. It covers some of the most heartbreaking parts of the war, and has fresh, believable characters. It is great because it brings the Civil War to a level where all can appreciate and understand it. Check out the book by Richard Moe, The Last Full Measure: The Life and Death of the First Minnesota Volunteers. It is all from diary and letter excerpts, but reads like a novel. It is great, too.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Best of the series
Review: I have read all 3 books of this trilogy and this one is the most exciting of the three. For history novel lovers, this book is captivating.

You do become drawn in as the author describes the battle of Yellow Tavern where JEB Stuart becomes mortally wounded and as the war comes to a close at Appotmataox.

Although the author is still learning his style or writing, I truly believe The Last Full Measure will keep you interested until the end.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: The last full measure of mediocrity
Review: I still cannot understand how this fellow should be allowed to cash in on the genius of his father. The Killer Angels is a masterpiece work. If this is the only way the son can make a living-by cashing in on the brilliance of his father to write these pale cut and paste forgeries-then God help us as readers who waste the twenty dollars. Why can't we cherish the great work as opposed to being subjected to the K-Mart selling of the TRILOGY. There is no trilogy. There is only the KILER ANGELS from this family.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent!
Review: The Last Full Measure is a great war novel, every bit as good as The Naked and the Dead, The Triumph and the Glory, and Unto This Hour.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Only an un-informed reader could rate this less than 5 Stars
Review: A master work by the son of a master writer. Jeff Shaara could easily be an unknown, non-writer. We need to count our blessings as readers of historical fiction that he was convinced to pick up his father's work & continue.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Civil War buff or not a must read, an enlightning read.
Review: Truly one of the best if not the best writtings on the Civil War done in a unique way. You feel as if you are actually there, standing beside Robert E. Lee or Longstreet. Capturing as realistically as possible the atmosphere of combat and the terrible results. I have also gotten a greater insight into the causes of the Civil War and the strong feelings aroused in the North and South which have lasted for so long. The Civil War is "A Great American Tragedy" which should never be forgotten by anyone because of the tremendous lessons the Civil War taught us. This book and the two companion books should be become a part of our childrens history curriculum.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: His story is action packed and full of ideas
Review: Jeff and Mike Shaara are one of the best in writing on the civil War. I am into the Civil War myself and enjoy every minute reading your thought out descriptions on the battles and the pictures of whats going on. This is a brilliant book in which has superb talent on every word. This is one book I have used to get all sorts of information off of. It's a great provider in information and teaches one the skill in having to fight these battles and the tragic sorrow each soldier faced while fighting. Great books for people who enjoy the Civil War! I'm 13 years of age and will never put this book down since it is so good. Brilliant writing by Jeff and his father Mike Shaara. ***** 5 stars way way up!!!

Summary: Exciting, Imagitive
Review: I am a ten-year old, and I condemm Shaara for writing this extrodinary novel. I really like the way he uses such detail, but for a ten-year old, some things are a bit to . . . well let's just say to intense. But still, I think Jeff Shaara deserves a very good honor for writing this anominously liked book.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Great Read
Review: If you have liked "Gods and Generals" you would like this book also. It is written with a flare, and brings a closure to the Civil War. The author manages to bring history alive, and made me feel as if I knew the leading generals, Robert E. Lee, and Ulysses S. Grant.

I am sure the book is historically accurate with the events of the war, but I am not sure how accurate it is with the depiction of the men involved, even though it still makes a very interesting reading.
