But nothing had prepared me for this. The book is simply superb. It has everything and more: history, war, love, sex, adventure and politics. All packed in 600 pages that will blow your mind away and will leave you asking "How does Wilbur do it?". Moreover, Smith has the ability to make you live whatever the main protagonist, Taita, feels - the great love for Lostris and Tanus, the hatred for Lord Interf, and the concern for the Egyptian Empire. If you have not read the book, get it, because they don't get better than this.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This is a worthy Sequel to "River God" Review: I am a huge Wilbur Smith fan. "River God" is the best novel I have ever read. Be sure you read "River God" before you read "Seventh Scroll". If you like "River God" and "Seventh Scroll" you will probably also love "The Sunbird". It is very similar in theme and is its own sequel in the fashion of "River God" and "Seventh Scroll". If you have read all the Wilbur Smith books like I have, you'll yearn for more, but it takes him years to come up with a new book these days. You might look at "Churchill's Gold" by James Follett after you have read all of Mr. Smith's books. It is very similar in style and quality to most of the Courtney series.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: An Adventure Better Than any Indiana Jones Series Review: The best part of this book is the way the adventure is centered on the main two characters. This book is wonderfully written to take advantage of both the male and female aspects of adventure, romance, and drama. The book take place in Egypt, migrates to England, and then to the jungles of Africa. The Heroine is feminly erotic, and the way the Hero is presented, you know he's going to get the girl. How he goes about it is the best part. You won't be disappointed in this book.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Wilbur Smith is the greatest story teller I know Review: River God is breathtaking in its scope. It's epic story justs carries the reader along through the years to the climax of the life of a slave. Now we have the sequel taking place in modern day, that narrows the focus of that epic story. Mr. Smith changes gears smoothly from an epic tale to a tale of intrigue and mystery. With good and evil characters so richly drawn, Mr. Smith takes our emotions and out attention to the edge of our seats. The plot is so well put together, and the suspense is palpable. This story is the culmination of a mystery that was created thousands of years ago. You have to read this book; and you have to read River God.

Review: I have read a lot of books in my time and as far as i'm concerned this is the best book ever written.I did NOT want this book to ever end because I was completely enthralled in the adventure of this grand tale.I read this book without having read River God and had no problems understanding anything(but you better believe i'm going to read River God now).If I could speak with Wilbur Smith I would thank him for writing this book which I treasure so very much.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Must Read Review: I read this one before the River God. Wow, what a series. I would highly recommemd that you read them both. I found that reading this one first made the River God book come alive.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: my review Review: While digging the tomb of a Queen, archaeologists find scrolls that indicate the tomb of the Pharaoh. And nobody has ever heard anything about it before, so a race to find the tomb is started by two very different parties.... As usual, Wilbur Smith has written an excellent book; he writes history like a novel and I really like that, it makes it much more "alive". The subject is very interesting and maintains the reader hooked until the very end. The author has the gift of writing. Every scene is so well presented, you can actually live it while you are reading it! The characters are precise, alive and very human. This book has really been a joy to read. I recomment it to anyone!

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Another great story Review: Just got around to reading this sequel to "River God". Very interesting concept for a sequel, to be set 4,000 years later. Great story that flows like the river it's spun around. I would have liked the conflict between the Boris and Mek expanded a little more, seemed like it was over much too quickly. Still a great story though.
