Summary: This is simply a book you can't refuse.
Review: I love all three of the famous Godfather movies, but I love the book too. The novel goes into more detail the actions and scenes in the first and second movies. I love to read, anything from Sci-Fi to Stephen King to Michael Crichton to Mario Puzo's Mafia novels, and I have a lot of "favorite books," but this is definetely one of the top 5. It's perfectly and beautifully written, and it is one of the finest literary creations of this century. Read it, just don't discuss Family business at the table.

Summary: The Great American Novel
Review: The Godfather will be remembered as Shakespeare is remembered. It carries with it tragedy, romance, humor and most of all drama. It spawned three movies that will always be cherished by movie goers both American and world wide. Puzo out did himself with this novel which is in my opinion, the Great American Novel that should be favored to be taught in high schools before Grapes of Wrath, Catcher In the Rye, and Huck Finn. It is Americana at its best.

Summary: A good solid page-turner not without fault
Review: I was surprised at how readable Mario Puzo's legendary book was. I finally tackled the book after seeing the movie about 10 times. It has been sittng on a bookshelf for 5 years now and I finally had to give in. It follows very close to the film, if you've seen it, with enough added information to augment what you already know about these characters. The novel developed the character of Johnny Fontaine much more than I would have expected. Fontaine is the Sinatra-like singer that gets his big comeback courtesy of THE GODFATHER. Interesting were the two very big anachronisms. The first one is somewhat minor. A circa 1947 reference to blacklisted writers and actors is a little early. HUAC was investigating at this time, but the term blacklisting wasn't coined until the 1950s. The second oddity is the 1946 reference to James Dean, a guy who wouldn't make his first movie until 1954. I was surprised that a skilled writer such as Puzo could make such obvious blunders in a major best-seller.

Summary: Right there with Hamlet
Review: I teach this book in the same course I teach Hamlet as an example of 'revenge tragedy', but it's more than this. I think The Godfather could give The Old Man and the Sea and The Autobiography of Malcolm X a race for the greatest 20th Century novel. This is Puzo's best.

Summary: A GREAT NOVEL AOUT REAL AMERICAN SICILIAN LIFE STYLE..
Review: The GODFATHER is a real astonishing novel written by Mario Puzo. my parents told me how much the film was real great, but i liked to read the novel first to get the general idea. And it has been a week since i've borrowed the godafther. it's really great, i started to share the personalities their feelings, and get more closer to mafia life style. the godfather's character is strange and cool, you like his personality, even though he's a mafia don, but the way he deals with the family and friends make him a real godfather... i like the novel very much, and if no one read it till now, he should, because it's really great and deals with every age, you can read as a suspense novel, or get closer to the person's pscychology. READ IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Review: After doing an extensive report on the accuracy of The Godfather, I have learned to appreciate the book for more than its literary perfection. A MUST read for anyone! It has a section for sadists, romancers, romancees, action-junkies, etc. Just Read it already!!!

Summary: I think This book is the best book in the world.
Review: I think that The Godfather Mario Puzo is the best book. It is the best book because it is about the Mafia and the Corleon family. The reason why I think this book is the best book is because it has all three books in one. Another reason is because it has a lot of details and description. It also has interest in what I am interest in.

The reason why this is a good book is that it has all three Godfather books in one. All the books are together to make the best book in the world in my point of view. Other people in the world think it is a great book because they gave the book five blue stars and wrote good things.

The reason why I think this book is a good book is that it has great details and description in the book. It tells you in specific details what happened and what they did. It say's it directly exactly from the movie. The details are so good that you could see the picture in your head and tell what's happening.

My third reason why I think this book is the best is because it is what I like to read. I like to read Mafia books and adventure books like Hatchet. The book is just like the movie and I like the movie too. But I like the movie better than the book. It is the best book in my point of view.

I think the Godfather Mario Puzo is the best book. The reason why I think this book is the best is because it has great details and description. It also grabs my attention. Plus it has all the Godfather books in one book. If you read the Godfather Mario Puzo I guaranty that you will like the book.

Summary: The Best Book Ever Published
Review: This book is not only about gun-toting mobsters. It deals with the awsome power of human being. Vito Corleone's rise from poverty almost mirrors that of Carnegie's. Through charm, and ruthless personality, they both rose from the bottom to the top. However, even more than that, it shows Vito Corleone's desire to be free from the criminal life that he had chosen. His loves for his three sons and wants to give them a legitimatized life. Unfortunately, fate, man's worst enemy, defies even a powerful man like Corleone. The gruelsome death of his oldest son was the first tragedy. However, Michael Corleone, the youngest, was also entangled by fate to enter a life that he did not wish to live. This book not only describes the outer surface of the infamous Mafia, but also probes deep into the heart of man, and tests his strength against fate.

Summary: The Godfather is a true American classic.
Review: This is the type of book that should be on one of those 100-Greatest-Books-in-History lists. The saga of the Corleone family is as epic as anything Shakespeare wrote. Even if you've seen the movie, the book offers insights that enhance the story. I couldn't believe The Godfather is 30 years old this year. That means there's probably a whole generation who has never read it--and if you haven't, you're missing out.
