Summary: Kinda Female Appealling
Review: Evans' prose styling is not bad, but kinda too femanine. Therefore, for most female readers, it's a very good book. But it's too digressive and too out-of-the-loop again like what he did to his Horse Whisperer; horses became so vague and remote and romance and love-making became major issues. Wolves' howlings in this one, again, could only be heard in the far far away background.

Summary: WILL HAVE YOU ROOTING FOR THE WOLVES ALL THE WAY
Review: I was one of those readers who thoroughly enjoyed The Horse Whisperer so I anxiously awaited Evan's next book. I was not disappointed. It's nice for a change to be reading about nature and its elements and different parts of the animal kingdom.....in this book the dreaded wolf. I found out that the wolf is now an endangered species and it is against the law to kill. The setting for this book takes place in a town called "Hope"; unfortunately there's no hope for the wolves until Helen Ross arrives to try to fix the wolf situation as it pertains to the cattle being killed. It's more than midway through the book before you learn what a loop is. This is when you will cheer for the wolves to get away. Some readers might even enjoy this one more than Horse Whisperer. In my estimation, they are both great reads.

Summary: Softies Only!
Review: I originally had good expectations for this book, it being critically acclaimed and all. But when I picked it up and began to read, it struck me that although the first few chapters were good, it rapidly became a tired good-guy, bad-guy issue. And, surprisingly, I actually found myself rooting for the bad guys! The two protagonists, Helen and Luke, were a couple of lovey-dovey softies, while the antagonists, Buck Calder and Joshua Lovelace, were intelligent and had real inner strength. I was disappionted at the ending, not only because the "good guys" won, but also because the "bad guys" were turned into softies like them too! Not a very enjoyable read..

Summary: Fantasic, the best book I have ever read
Review: The Loop is by far the best book I have ever read. The way the story unfolds is brilliant, it was so hard too put it down I began to think it was fixed to my hand! I liked this book more than the Horse Whisperer because the ending was more happy and also because the story saw other peoples lives as well as the main characters. I thought the way Helen and Luke fell in love was the most romantic thing I have ever heard, the wolves sounded so cute and everything about the story made me come to like Evans' style of writing more than ever before. I would recommend it to anybody, because it will be the best book they have ever read, or ever will, it was certainly mine.

Summary: I ATE THE BOOK !
Review: I DIDN'T WANT TO FINISH IT. "THE LOOP" HAS ALL: NATURE (A PARADISE), ANIMALS, LOVE(PERFECT STORY)AND A GOOD NARRATION ABOUT PROBLEMS BETWEEN NATURE AND HUMANS. IT SHOWS US THAT HUMAN IS MORE PREDATOR (AND MORE DANGEROUS AND AGRESSIVE) THAN THE WOLVES.

Summary: Great story!
Review: Nicholas Evans is a great author. his story gripped me from the opening page to the very last page. The story of the wolves and their fight for their survival against the ranchers was great. he was very descriptive in his explanations of the story. the love between helen and luke kept me coming back to the book. the ending didn't satisfy my wanting of more of luke and helen. i hope nicholas evans writes more on helen and luke! i would certainly read it. i hope others enjoy this as much as i have!

Summary: It Ain't So Easy
Review: Evans has sharpened a master laser at the difficulties of environmental concerns; in this case projected on the current 'darling': wolf recovery. In the process, he gives us wonderful glimpses of wolf life, especially the warm family bonds that wolf aficionados have grown accustomed to being exposed to. On the way, he gives us a tender love story, and a gripping tale of dark masculine aggression bringing down total destruction upon itself, and, not surprisingly, on all those loved around himself. A great metaphor for our times!

Summary: Montana Hope
Review: Nicholas Evan's work is underrated by critics while having an avid following of readers. I loved The Horse Whisperer and hesitated to read The Loop based on reviews. What a pleasant surprise! Mr. Evans excellent understanding of the conflict between animal activists, ranchers and environmentalists gives the reader an unbiased perspective. The wolves are not "all good", the ranchers not "all bad" and love between two lonely people is developed with believable hesitancy. Readers will find this book both captivating and enlightening. Won't believe what the critics say about Evan's next book - will automatically want to read it.

Summary: Whoa
Review: This is a spectacular book! My mother was reading it but was busy and didn't have time, so I 'stole' it from her one night, and didn't put it down until I was done. I thouroughly enjoyed it, it's plot tied me down, with Luke and Helen and the wolves. It took me all night, but I finished it, and let's just say my teachers were not exactly happy to find me doing nothing except two things the entire next day: sleeping and raving about this book! I LOVED it and recommend it to everyone!

Summary: A Bit Predictable
Review: Its a fun read but a bit predictable. Living in Montana, I suppose I was more critical of the details and there were mistakes. I kept waiting for Evans to make it a good guy, bad guy story . . . and he does somewhat. The story line is a bit simplistic. Its basically a Romeo and Juliet love story with a modern twist. Evans could do with a bit more researching though. But, just like a good John Wayne movie, it has a happy ending.
