Summary: This is even better than his first one!
Review: This is an ultimate buy for anyone who enjoyed his first novel, the Horse Whisperer. Helen Ross, Luke Calder, Buck Calder, Dan Prior, and other characters take this story on a rollercoaster ride that is easy to follow and fun to read. I read this book in three days! When Helen Ross is called up to Hope, Montana by her colleague Dan Prior, to do some work with a pack of endangered wolves, she bites of more she can chew with resident wolf hater/ rancher Buck Calder. His son however, Luke Calder has completely opposite views. Luke decides to help Helen out, and his father is more than mad, but he figures out a way to turn this into help for himself to get rid of the wolves. Check this book out at your local library to find out more.

Summary: Excellent literature
Review: Not as intense as "Horse Whisperer" but still a very good book. I don't know a lot about the wolves and their habits, maybe the author was not very accurate here (as one of the readers suggested). But the beauty of the language of this book kept me flowing. That's what the Literature is all about, isn't it?

Summary: Incredible.
Review: Absolutely amazing. Evans writes this story eloquently..he paints an acurate and true portrait of the negative and sterotypical images that we as a society have of the wolf. The wolf is a beautiful animal that deserves our respect and protection. Evans conveyed that message in this wonderful story.

Summary: Evans does it again, The Loop is a must read.
Review: I bought this book not knowing much about it, other than it was written by Nicholas Evans who also wrote The Horse Whisperer (which was also a wonderful book), and that it was getting good reviews. And I'm glad I bought it, it is by far one of the best books I've ever read. From the moment I picked it up I couldn't put it down. It is the type of book you don't want to end, and when it does you just want to read it again. Everyone should read this masterpiece (esp. those who were not impressed by The Horse Whisperer.). This book is destined to be a classic.

Summary: I was unable to put the book down, it did not disappoint me.
Review: I eagerly awaited Mr. Evans' latest book and was very excited when my mother bought it and loaned it to me right away. I love the way he incorporates animals into the story. I read The Horse Whisperer and although disappointed with the ending, I didn't like the way the movie copped out and changed the ending. The Loop was a satisfying read. It is unusual for a book to keep my interest so piqued that I can't put it down. My one complaint would be that the wolves, like the horse in Whisperer, are somehow just "ditched" in the end to wrap up the story. Overall, a good read for animal lovers who appreciate a romance story as well. Some of the wolf details were a little disturbing, I had to remind myself it was fiction, although based on fact.

Summary: Very Cool Book!! Great Read!!
Review: This is my first Nicholas Evans book and I can see why he gets all that praise. A delightful read because of the depth that he went into, not only with the characters, but with the wolves. I had to read this for an ecology class, and am I'm glad I read it. It was, to put it mildly, an awesome book that was even better than I ever could have imagined!!!!!

Summary: Captured my heart and made me cry for the wolves
Review: Nicholas Evans write with such true flavor of the American West and yet he is a Brit. I feel very sad about the inhumanity of some humans towards beautiful creatures that they do not understand. The Loop is a wonderful story that kept me involved from cover to cover.

Summary: A good love story of wolves vs man!
Review: Like the Horse Whisperer, this book exposes the reader to a way of life not experienced by most city dewelers, a love story, the trials of ranching, understanding the family of wolves and their need to survive. Loved it!

Summary: A FANTASTIC READ!!!
Review: It's been a long time since I have read a book that stayed in my thoughts. I couldn't put this book down!

Summary: A compelling story about a very timely environmental issue.
Review: As a fan of "Whisperer", I began "The Loop" clearly intent on not making comparisons. I wanted to let this book stand on its own, and for me, it certainly did. Mr. Evans is at his best when he opens our minds and our hearts to the mysteries of nature. The fascinating pack of wolves are really the center of the story around which all the human characters evolve. Sensitive readers will be horrified reading about the device for which the book was named--animal lover or not. For myself, the characters were well drawn with clear motivations and actions that rang true. It is easy to understand many readers missing the spiritual character of a Tom Booker from this novel. Maybe reality just doesn't allow a character like him in every story. I like to think that a more mature Luke would share many of the same qualities we loved so much in Tom. While Helen and Luke did not enter the story as emotionally appealing characters, by the end of the book they had most certainly grown into stronger, more interesting people. In many ways, I found the ending of "Loop" more satisfying than "Whisperer", and almost as much of a surprise. "Loop" is a great read that held my interest from beginning to end. If you loved "Whisperer", don't let the "naysayers" put you off. Buy it and make up your own mind. For people who see life as only black and white and just "don't get it" when it turns mystically gray, I say, "find another author".
