Summary: Really good!
Review: I thought the Loop was a very well written book dealing with some fact along with fiction. I thought that it had a very good plot and story line. If you love to read about books i would recomend this because it also tells about the wolves on their comeback from an almost extinction. I reccomend this book highly to any reader. Its a great novel. if you would like to email me do so.

Summary: A Big Disappointment
Review: My book group chose to read this book based on the author's previous work. Words can't express my disappointment with the book. I found it to be a cheap romance novel, with no merit for discussion whatsoever. It's a good thing that my group enjoys each others company, and that we have tea to look forward to. Otherwise the meeting to discuss this most disappointing read would probably be canceled.

Summary: Fantastic and Moving!
Review: I come from a small mountain town in Oregon and have worked for the Forest Service. I must say the meeting was real on the mark. Ours were spotted owls, but still the same kind of people were involved with similar concerns. This book was touching and beautiful in every way and I could not put it down. It helps to teach people that sometimes the people willing to love and learn from nature are the closest to the meaning of life than anyone else. Bravo!

Summary: A remarkable story by a dying breed of writers
Review: THE LOOP is on the verge of being more profound than the much acclaimed THE HORSE WHISPERER. The immortal words of Nicholas Evans will forever remain long after he is gone. The tale of the small wolf pack wove with a remarkable love story proves to be a page turner. Instinct makes you want to read this book.

Summary: Slow going to bond with the characters
Review: Through the first 16 chapters, I had problems "bonding" with the characters. I almost stopped reading it but, towards the middle of the book, I began to see some hope. I became saddened by the harshness of the wild. But, I actually started to imagine life out there in that cold, lonely cabin. I could see how Helen could get so depressed after reading Joel's letter. She was already depressed and alone and very unhappy. So, why not fall apart after the news of his new love? I loved the, The Horse Whisperer." Could not put it down. This novel was a bit disappointing after reading Horse Whisperer and seeing the movie. But, after reading, "The Loop" I will read another Evans novel. I always learn something from each of his books.

Summary: A Wolf's lovers must to read!
Review: Picked this book up soley because it concerned wolfs, and found it to be far more that a story about the Pack. The reader truly lives every moment with Helen, Luke, Buck, Eleanor etc. This book is a must for all who like the excitement of the outdoors and all the splendor and heartbreak it has to offer.

Summary: Entertaining, tightly written
Review: Nicholas Evans intertwines many lives together (both human and wolf) in a very entertaining manner. The book is fast-paced and the plot is very tightly written. I can see how others have said they couldn't put this down. Mr. Evans also shows us the many sides of an environmental issue in which almost everyone loses almost all the time. For as well as I thought the plot was developed, it could have been a little less predictable. Also, to get the last star the characters would have had to be more multi-dimensional; the hats in this book are either black or white. Nevertheless, if you are in the mood for an enjoyable, quick and good read, you may want to try The Loop.

Summary: A great read with complex issues weaved into a compelling st
Review: After the Horse Whisperer, I thought I would be greatly disappointed with The Loop. However, I soon became captivated with what I describe as simply a GOOD story. Althought the characters could be more developed, the book moved quickly. A realistic plot. I highly recommend the book!

Summary: Predictable
Review: I was very disappointed with this book for many reasons. It was as predictable as a Jesse Jackson speech and about as entertaining. The characters were shallow and so predictable I kept reading in the hope that it would get better- it didn't. The view is typically New Yorker---everyone else is a country bumpkin... ( Some of the main characters are literally named the Hicks! ). And the obsession with tobacco is almost scary. I personally would like to see a book about Montana ranchers releasing poisonous vipers back into their natural habitat of Manhattan ! And why the obsession with German tourists ? Why not French, Japanese, etc...? I personally couldn't make much sense out of this book- it wandered aimlessly and the plot was very weak. I read it only since it was a gift.

Summary: A well told story that has everything; love, suspense ,etc..
Review: I loved everything about this book. You pick it up and never want to put it done. The characters were all amazing because you feel and understand the reasoning of each one. Your heart aches for the survival of the wolves and thrombs for the romance between Luck and Helen. I can not wait to see and purchase the movie and pray that nothing is left out and that the actors do it justice. The movie of "The Horse Whisperer" was not as good as the book. However, thank you Mr. Evans for "The Loop", I look forward to your future work.
