Rating: Summary: As Good As watching an excellent film Review: What can I say? the characters are well described. I think Helen is stunningly beautiful. Luke, exploding with innocence. I feel pain for the poor wolves. Heart-stopping ending which calms you down right before you close the book to think about what you just read!
Rating: Summary: Not As Good As "The Horse Whisperer" Review: I'm disappointed to say that "The Loop" is not as good as Evans' first book. The events are slow and it took me a long time to finish this book, because it didn't pull me very much. I have to admit though, that the last 100 pages were very good, the events were faster and more exciting. Evans does know a lot about animals and makes the reader want to know more and more himself. I wonder when his next book is coming out 'cause I'm really anxious to read it.
Rating: Summary: I loved it! Review: "The Loop" is the best book I have read this year. The characters are so realistic and human it hurts. I am rarely moved to tears by novels, but I cried over this one. The story is completely believable and very compelling. I sincerely recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Worths reading Review: Altough not as thrilling as his first book "The Horse Wisperer" this book worths reading. The level of romance and tension is well balanced as well as the profiles. The characters in this book are no heros or unreachable "creatures"... They are as normal as you and me! I am not saying it is a normal day's story, on the contrary it is specific. Combines the love with nature, ambition and the moral values. Especially studies the concept of respect. Respect as a building stone of our character, respect to the superior nature. Ephasises what trust and understanding can bring to our life... Easy flowing story with a good climax. If you just want to spend some nice time while reading, then "The Loop" worths the money...
Rating: Summary: A RICH MASTERPIECE! Review: I listened to the audio CD which made my daily commute almost heavenly. Not only was it well written, the narrator had such perfect inflection and timing. You could see each person before he stated who was speaking. It was like he gave each character their own distinct voice. And the writing is some of the best writing I have ever read. It is refreshing and vivid, and well researched! I want to listen to it all over again, and again and again!
Rating: Summary: A Wonderful Escape... Review: I read this book in a matter of days, eagerly awaiting the next time I could pick it up again. I fell in love with all of the characters and their stories, although I did not get into Mr. Lovelace's plot as much as the others. I enjoyed this more than The Horse Whisperer, if possible. I agree, "more please."
Rating: Summary: A brilliant thought prevoking read Review: Having first read The Horse Whisperer, I was keen to read another book penned by Nicholas Evans. Although I found it hard to feel part of the book at the beginning, once the plot took off I couldn't put the book down! The plot has many twists and turns, with fantastic writing such as Helen and Luke rescuing a bear - my heart has never beat so quickly!! I enjoyed the build up to the end of the book on the one hand I was desperate to find out the end but on the other I really didn't want the book to end - tears aplenty - more please!!
Rating: Summary: Absolutely My Most Favorite Book Of All-Time!!! Review: This book has everything: suspense, action, romance, anger, love, and hatred. I would have to say that it is the best book I ever read. I spent hours reading it, far into the depths of the night, I couldn't put it down. You feel sadness for the characters, but most of all for the wolves. The perception is quite a change for most people. I think what is so good about it is that the characters' history and point of view is well explained. You can understand everything about them. The story is told with such flair and is so realistic. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a well-told, enveloping mania of thrilling situations and angering predicaments!
Rating: Summary: Engrosing from page one Review: The Loop is a book that is enthralling from the beginning to the end. Characters develop and relationships unfold in a way that catches you throughout the whole of the book. You feel for all of the characters, but mostly perhaps for the Wolf pack, their ancestors hunted to the brink of extinction, yet still they are persecuted today. The Loop is wonderfully well written and when you've finished it you get the feeling that maybe you won't read another one that equals it for a long time, or perhaps until the next Nicholas Evans book is available.
Rating: Summary: Haunting insight into the psyche of both wolf and man. Review: Mr. Evans has created a novel which offers a fascinating view of the symbiosis which must be achieved for any "wildlife" to continue to "share" the earth with mankind in the future. The point-of-view of the ranchers, the field biologists, and the wolves are all treated with equal dignity, creating a plot which is both poignant and enlightening. The resolution of many of these issues are vital for ours and future generations. I literally stayed up all night and read for 10 hours straight to finish this compelling novel.
