Summary: READ THIS BOOK. DO NOT LET THIS OPPORTUNITY SLIP AWAY.
Review: I have picked up this book about 10 different times over the last 20 years and never started. Now that I have finally read it, I am torn between the rapture of how great an experience this novel has been, and the self-loathing of not having experienced it sooner. Ask anyone who has read this book how they feel about it, 20+ years since its release: all will remember, most will rank it in their personal top 10, some will rank it higher than that. Don't delay. Experience this wonderful novel as soon as possible.

Summary: A must read for anyone with a passion for history
Review: Seven hundred pages couldn't keep me from plowing through this novel in a few days' time. The fascinating day-to-day life of Conor, Seamus, Caroline, et al grips the reader as it evolves over the course of a lifetime. Growing up in an Irish neighborhood, I was always stricken with the passion that these people have for their history and plight in the homeland. After the conclusion, I found myself wishing I were Irish as well.

Summary: One of the all time best books I have ever read!
Review: This book mesmerized me in the same way great books like 'The Grapes of Wrath' and 'To Kill a Mockingbird' did, except those were books I read in high school because I had to and 'Trinity' I read on my own free will as an adult. The plight of the Irish people has been greatly downplayed, both in the media as well as in school history lessons. What the British Empire did to the Irish people was nothing short of a 'holocaust' and Leon Uris is brilliant in bringing their plight to life. I do not have a drop of Irish blood in me (at least, not that I know of) and yet this book still captivated me. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone. And by the way, the sequel, 'Redemption' is every bit as good, perhaps even a little bit better, because you are already familiar with so many of the charcacters.

Summary: Superior writing laced with fiction and historical detail
Review: This is the third Leon Uris novel I have read. This book makes one feel if they were actually their and knew all of the characters. Uris brings out true feelings of the Irish and reveals the ugly side of the British.

Summary: Your heart will break!
Review: Conor Larkin is the perfect hero! Trinity is exciting, compelling, thought-provoking, and tragic! It is one of the best books I have ever read!

Summary: My favorite book...
Review: I first read Trinity when I was fifteen and have reread it at least a dozen times. It is easily my favorite book. I'm Irish but born and raised in England and America. For someone trying to learn about their Irish heritage, yet unable to get through long, dry history books, Trinity is just the ticket. I even named my first child Conor after working on my wife for eight months. I also recommend Battle Cry and Mila 18.

Summary: Words just cannot say how good it is!!!
Review: I read this epic about 15 years ago, and have since read it countless number of times. I recommend this book everybody. In fact, if anyone has been unfortunate of not reading a Leon Uris novel so far, then start with this book. This is truly one of my favorites.

Summary: I normally don't read books that are over 300 pages.....
Review: ...but, Leon Uris is an incredible storyteller. I am a Southern Californian girl in my late twenties and was adopted at birth. I read this book over 5 YEARS AGO and was absolutely riveted. I knew my mother was Scottish, Irish, Dutch and Welsh, and that was it! My parents (who raised me) had Hungarian and "Norsky" backgrounds and were not able to make my any of my ancestry REAL for me. In school, I always suffered in History classes because the books were so dry and boring. I am so grateful to this author for making the history of Ireland come alive for me! I have had others tell me that this story was told from a very Catholic-sympathetic side, but I am broadminded enough to look at it from that standpoint and not feel a hatred toward the people of England. I was always perplexed by the fact that there were Cauasian peoples fighting against one another in this day and age, in a European country; killing each other with terrorist tactics, when here in America we all stand side-by-side and don't have that kind of conflict. The book made it real for me. I now can see what's happening today and make some sense of it. I recently went and saw "The Boxer" with Daniel Day-Lewis (who was also in "In the Name of the Father") - I would recommend seeing that movie, along with reading this book!!! I have also read the sequel to "Trinity". It brought me closer in history to our decade, to help me understand the subject of history better. "Trinity" is still one of my favorite books ever! I lost my copy (which I bought at a garage sale) a long time ago, and have been looking for it. I even tried to find it at a major bookstore: they didn't carry it, and couldn't special order it for me. Now that I've found this page, I can get another copy and read it again! A favorite. Definitely.

Summary: Made me so angry I fired the book off of the far wall.
Review: You could probably tell a story like this for any of the people (and there have been many) abused by the British empire. Except the Irish probably got it worse than any of the others, due to their proximity to England and the ruling class contempt of their 'subjects.' Leon Uris comes from a background with some of the worst tragedies imagineable, yet he looked at the plight of the Irish and became moved enough to write a masterpiece. This is my favorite book ever.

Summary: Uris delivers history and knowledge in this tale
Review: Mr. Uris shows impressive research when writing this passionate tale. The Irish are noble, intellectual people who have endured much at the hands of others. Mr. Uris let me be a "fly on the wall" as Conor Larkin struggles to bring honor and freedom to his land. Most importantly, he educated me about why there is the turmoil in that great land. Trinity is my favorite next to Exodus and Armageddon. Great Job, Leon! Thank you!
