Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Simply stated, this is my favorite book of all time!
Review: Leon Uris does a masterful job of making the tragedy of Northern Ireland come alive to the reader. Early on, the reader becomes connected with the Larkin Family, and feels part of their tragic destiny.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Trinity belongs on the Top 100 list
Review: Can anyone tell me why Leon Uris does not have one book on the Top 100 20th century novels list? Trinity is and may always be my favorite book. There are an incredible number of themes woven into a story told in the rich Irish storytelling tradition. The desperation of starvation, the hopelessness of oppression and discrimination, the fury of love lost, the morality and justification of vengeance and revenge-- it goes on and on. Trinity is a story of epic proportions. After reading the novel, one spends hours, even days reflecting on it's tremendous content. It is a beautifully told story of a nation of rich history and tragic beauty. The reader's emotions swell and bubble, tremble and burst as the story swings from humor to desperate frustration, from hopelessness to passionate inspiration, from love to hatred. The reader progresses through the life and struggles of a man and a people gradually stripped of all hope, all life. Trinity is the most engrossing novel I have ever read, and I recommend it for anyone who wants to truly understand the basis of the Irishman's Troubles.

Summary: Borrow it, buy it, somehow get your hands on it!
Review: The book was sent to me by a friend, tattered from years of his rereading it, the cover held on by a strip of tape. Seeing a book that has obviously been read so many times had me excited before I ever openened the pages. I know very little about my Irish heritage and thought this would be a good beginning. I was swept into this story from page one. Through laughter and tears I read the book religiously. The book is mesmerizing. It will keep me enthralled every time I read it. Yes, I've already planned on rereading it.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I wish I could give it 10 stars.
Review: This book is one of the best I think I will ever read. Leon Uris takes one of the most tragic stories in history and puts you right in he middle. Everyone young and old should read this book.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: An agonizing tale...literally. It took me 5 weeks to read.
Review: First off, I must say that I detest this book. I read 800 pages only to be rewarded with 16 pages of action at the very end of the novel. I agree, that Uris writes extremely well, however just as history repeats itself, so too, does the plot. Perhaps the plight of the Irish is well portrayed in this story, but nothing is achieved, and all the Catholic murders go unavenged. I give this book five stars for style, but I take away three for my frustration.

Summary: I can't stop thinking about this story.
Review: This book has everything. I do not remember how I got my hands onto this book, but I am 14, and can say that it is my favorite book and probably always will be. Conor is a hero, my hero, and I can't stop thinking about his story.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Amazing novel that's made me think!
Review: I bought this book at a book sale for $1.00 and for a year the book traveled with me. Finally this summer I decided to read it. This is litterally one of the best books I have ever read. I am a history major at Rider University and this book was right up my ally, the crusade of the Irish and all the heartache they've gone through has really got me thinking. When I finished the book Conor, Seamus, Atty, and the rest of them were all I could think about. This book is a definite must read!

Summary: ONE OF THE GREAT HISTORICAL NOVELS OF ALL TIME!
Review: WOW, what a great book. I feel so ignorant not knowing the history of ireland and the battles that have gone on for hundreds of years. This book certainly shed light on that. If you are a fan of historical fiction this is a must, but the continuing theme in history is that "every society at one time has been either the victum or victor". Each society finds a way to punish, cripple and degrad others that are weaker. Will this ever end? probably not, it seems to be human nature. The question is, Why do we persist in keeping others down and insisting that our way is the best and only way.

Summary: This book is captivating from begining to end!
Review: This book is a definate masterpeice. It is filled to the brim with Irish history and a very beautiful fictional/nonfictional plot. Leon Uris brings love, death, and war together in such a way that you can actually feel the emotions of the characters as you read. I would recommend this book to anyone who would like to know more about the history of "the Troubles" in Ireland or anyone who just enjoys a good tear jerker.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: WOW.... So much better the second time around.
Review: I first read Trinity at the insistence of my mother (first generation Irish) when I was fifteen. Although I enjoyed it, I never appreciated it for its fluent history, dynamic characters and breathtaking adventure. In light of the "Good Friday" peace accord, I thought the time was ripe for a reread. The best decision I have made all year. I experienced the gambit of emotions and have a better understanding of not only my heritage, but the need for my generation to support that heritage. I would recommend this to any High School English or History class. I also recommend to anyone who enjoyed the history of this novel to try "How the Irish Saved Western Civilization" by T. Cahill.
