Review: OK check it. I'm a true reader of African American FICTION. What the hell was this book? Friction? 'Cause it sho wasn't fiction. The story line was DUMB. The characters were DUMB <what little we knew of them> The ending was DUMB too. Now I see why this author titled his book DUMB as me. Damn! If this author is really as dumb as his book then look out! 'Cause his book was filled with SO MANY DAMN ERRORS IT WASN'T FUNNY! Save your money people. You'll be DUMD for investing in this book!

Summary: Nice Try for a First Book
Review: I read this book a while ago and I must say that I love the cover and the title. The storyline had a lot of potential but like so many others have said, the story was not flushed out enough and the characters were seriously underdeveloped. However, I do believe the author has potential so I have purchased his second novel and will see if there is a vast improvement. After all, we must all start somewhere and writing is about growth with each project. I think he has the ability to tell a better story but if you are just looking for a fast read to kill some time, this book is so-so.

Review: Terrible! ANYONE WHO RATES THIS BOOK ABOVE 3 STARS IS A " BRAND NEW READER" TO THE WORLD OF BLACK FICTION OR A GROUPIE/MEMBER OF THE AUTHOR'S FAN CLUB.

I've been reading various books (fiction & non-fiction) written by African-American authors for over 10 years...I'm 31, and an avid reader. Hands down this is the worst book I've ever read.

The typos are insane! There's no character development, the plot is extremely rushed, and the reader never gets a true sense of why the characters behave the way they do. You know that Justin has beef with his dad, but why? It lacks depth. The author spends 0 time on giving the reader information on the background of the main characters. The storyline is sooooo simple, yet in spite of its simplicity the book just doesn't flow well.

And the ending...ri-dic-u-lous! If you MUST read it, start with the last few pages; there's nothing more worth spending your time on. I give the author props for trying, the competition in the world of black fiction literature is stiff. Better luck next time around. If you're an experienced reader, skip this one!

Review: I cannot believe the "writer" and I use the word writer with reservation, actually published this so called book. It's the worst thing I've ever read. The storyline is underdeveloped, as is the characters. Nothing in this "book" grabs the reader. Please, please, save your money. After reading this trash, I actually threw it in the garbage, that's how awful it is. I agree with another reviewer, most African-Americans accept inferior products. Are we so desperate to read books written by African-American writers?

Summary: Need to pay more attention.... Not so Good Book!!!
Review: I give this book 3 stars. I use to just read the reviews by real reviews of publishers. But, now have brought some of these novels and read them. I will read the customers reviews also, it would have saved me. Dumb as Me... Looks good on the outside the cover is nice and has and intersting story line to it, but was not well developed. Some other reviews said it great and wonderful, I know have a theory on that... their beginner reads. Recommend borrowing the book from the library.

Review: He could have came more better than that and if you are a TRUE READER you would have know how it was going to end. It lacked character, was not well thought out, but I will give the author an A for trying. Lets hope his next book is better.
