Summary: Hard to put down.
Review: Right off the bat Novolee's character pulls you right in. You get so involved in the book, it's hard to stop reading. We have to read for 15 minutes everyday in school. I forgot mine, so my teacher lent me "Where the heart is" to read for that day. I ended up reading it everyday after that.

Summary: Heart-warming. It's okay to fall for its charm.
Review: This book was a purely enjoyable read. I was bummed when I finished it because I looked forward to reading a few chapters every night. I must agree that it does exude a Forrest Gumpish optimism, but I don't see anything worng with that--in fact, I find it refreshing. The characters are charming and the story is heartwarming.

Summary: Easy to read and pulls your through to the end
Review: I had previously read other books in the Oprah's book club and usually found the books depressing. What surprised me about this book was even though bad things happened to Novalee, she was always able to pull through and find happiness. It was also nice to be rooting for the other characters in the book. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to read a heartwarming book.

Summary: this was one of the greatest books ever written
Review: I just finished Where the Heart is and I absolutley loved it. It is one of those books that you just cannot put down. Just when you think something is resolved, it goes through a million twists and turns. I would recomend this book to anybody. Thank you so much, Billie Letts!

Summary: Good relaxing read
Review: I was hesitant to read this since it came so highly recommended by Oprah, but I thought why not. I am glad I did because it was worth it. Novalee's character really pulls you into the story and the way the author develops her throughout the story is wonderful. At the end, you are almost as proud of her as her mother would be. I cried when Sister Husband died and cried when Novalee finally found love. It was a good relaxing story and I would recommend it to anyone.
