Rating: Summary: An Excellent Novel That WILL Touch Your Heart Review: I could not put this book down. The story is interesting from the first sentence until the very last. A touching story of a girl that came into the world with nothing but had EVERYTHING in the end. The book has some comedic appeal; however mostly a life story of an amazing human being. The novel portrays the difference one human can make to another human, with a little caring involved. I recommend reading this heart warming novel by Billie Letts. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, and always will.
Rating: Summary: The book that is ALIVE! Review: This book portrays a young teenager at 17 who is pregnant and then left alone to survive. The heart of everyone, those that came to her when she needed help are the ones to be praised and thanked. Billie Letts is definitely one that puts goods in the hands of the world¡¦s perspective and bring hope to the hands of the need. With the books thrilling sense of emotion and thoughts, it is sure that readers will enjoy this book not only with views of optimism but more over the sense of joy when the book comes to an end. What brings such as book into life is what brings you and me into the real world. What Billie Letts writes is not only the story of a young girl but also the situation of the reality. Life is full of hope, and this book proves it!!!
Rating: Summary: Where The Heart Is Review: I thought this was one of the best books I have read in a long time, I found a book that I actually could not put down! That has not happened in a long time, but this book is just amazing, it makes you laugh, cry and it makes you angry! Those are the best type of books, the books that test all your emotions and this book does!
Rating: Summary: Uplifting! Review: I loved this book! This is a feel good story about a young girl who has nobody in the world who gives a hoot about her and the wonderfully eclectic group of characters (multiracial too) who come into her life. It is through both the kindness of these strangers and the love for her new baby that Novalee sees for the first time that life can be wonderful. Hurray for Billy Letts who believes strongly enough that there are still good people in America and that she chose to write about them. On that note, I believe Sam Walton would have given her a lot more money!

This book is about a girl, Novalee Nation, who wants to go to California with her boyfriend to start a family. Unfortunantly that does not happen. Her boyfriend dumps her at a Wal-Mart pregnant and all! She lives there for 3 months, until one night Forney Hull comes to her rescue and delivers her baby, Americus. A few days later she is released from the hospital and nowwhere to go, just then a nice lady Sister Husband takes her under her wing and lets her live with her. For those few years Novalee learned alot from Sister Husband and Forney, but then something terrible happens. A tornado comes and Sister is no where to be found...will sister be found or will she be lost in Novalee's soul forever?! Read this tragic novel and you will see!
Rating: Summary: Refreshing, Uplifting, and Powerful... Review: Long Overdue. Finally a book that gives HOPE to the poor, uneducated teenage mothers of the world... They too can overcome their pasts, become good mothers, good friends, find love and a home of their own.
Rating: Summary: My Opinion of Where the Heart Is Review: The book Where the Heart Is by Billie Letts, was an awesome book. It was so real, and so easy to get lost in. Novalee Nation was an orphan basically, and she had bad luck with sevens. She was pregnant at 17, and had to make a life for herself in Oklahoma, where her boyfriend had left her. Here she learns about life, love, and hardships. This book reminded me of a book I read called Dicey's Song, by Cynthia Voigt. The girl in this story was also an orphan, but she had to take care of her three younger siblings. She was old before her time, and had many hardships, like Novalee did. I thought Where the Heart Is was a wonderful book, not only a great story, but also very well written.
Rating: Summary: Someone Please Help Me! Review: I just have a really quick question. I have been led to believe that this book and movie is based on a true story. Is this a fact or have I been mislead? Email me at tiggeracm@hotmail.com and help me think clearly. Thank you much!!
Rating: Summary: Where the Heart is Review: Are seven's lucky for you? Well not for Novalee Nation, who is 7 months prgnant, lost her mother to a baseball umpire at 7 and has 77 stitches.Leaving at 7 o'clock with her loser boyfriend, they stop at Walmart where Novalee purchases a pair of slippers. When the register totals $7.77, Novalee shrieks and runs out of the store to find her loser boyfriend GONE! This is just the beginning of Novalee's exploits of things gone bad going worse.
Rating: Summary: Excellent read. I couldn't put it down. Review: This is probably one of the best books I have ever read. The story of Novalee and her desperate fear of the number 7 is so intriguing that you find yourself worrying about what will happen when Americus is 7 days, 7 weeks, 7 months, 7 years old. This book shows that what does not kill you only makes you stronger better than anyone could have ever explained it to you before. Billie Letts marvelously gets you in touch with the characters, gets you to love the characters and care for them and their well-being. You want the best for all involved, and get angry if they are prevented or hurt in the process. I highly recommend this book to anyone. You will not regret it.
