Summary: Good book to read!!!
Review: I thought Where the heart is was a great and intresting book to read. I think all teenagers and adults can read but, mostly teenagers read this book because you learn that a 17 yrs old girl gets pregnant and you learn about how she survives in Walmart. I love how they had different characters with really intresting names like Novalee Nation. It was confusing kind of at some parts but, then i got it then. But i beleive this is a warm-loving, and funny book to read too. I think the movie is really good to. Both our great! I recommend this book to all teenagers and whoever loves to read intresting and just somewhat romantic book. I think guys could read this book you could learn something out of this book.

"Where the Heart Is"

Imagine being seventeen years old, seven months pregnant and being left at a Wal-Mart store with seven dollars in your pocket and not knowing where you are going to stay, from day to day. Sometimes it's hard to follow everything that's going on in her life not having such a normal child hood, her own mother leaving her when she was very young, helps add to the learning experience that Novalee will encounter in her young life... This phenomenal book boosts many strengths; compelling story line that leaves you with a feeling of warmth and friendship that these characters share with each other, with Novalee's bad luck and over coming being left stranded by her no-good boyfriend Willy Jack.
Billie Letts's book "Where the Heart Is" is a wonderful book deserving of a five star rating. Letts's captures the reader's heart, soul, the devotion of this modestly young women's journey into her new life a reader may become a little disappointed in some of the out comes that cross Nova lee's life The book is easy reading and sometimes may need to speed things up a little... But, with Novalee's experiences beginning with the magic of all that she finds in her journey into her new world that makes the unbelievable believable the author sure makes this a book you can't put down till the end. An excellent book to pass on to a friend to enjoy.
After being left at the Wal-Mart store, Novalee is left with no money and no where to, her no good boyfriend Willy Jack could care less what happens to Novalee their unborn child, he just thinks that the two of them are just holding him back from getting some money. His thought is by taking a job, for the railroad and losing his finger on the tracks, and, after he gets the insurance money he could live like a king, which never happens. He has his own problems to deal with. Not ever taking the idea and using it Willy Jack does try to make it as a country singer but, after steeling someone else's song he doesn't go any where but become a drunk and a druggie. Not taking a pregnant girlfriend with him would be the worst thing for him Willy Jack decides to leave her at the store with nothing. This is the best thing for her and the baby is to be left behind. Novalee has to decide what to do, where to live and how to make money. Novalee thinks that maybe being left in this Oklahoma town, may be where her future and where her magic begins.
A group of local town people is who Novalee will meet along the way. One by one in this small town she will meet these kind caring people who show her that she can make it on her own. And that is when Novalee decides that she will start her new life right here in Okalahoma with them. Novalee meets a blue haired older women named Sister Thelma Husband, she hands out photo copies of the bible and a welcome wagon basket to her as a gesture for the newcomer to there community. This is someone that Novalee will eventfully live with. Then there's Moses Whitecotton a soft spoken black man who is a photographer who is eager to teach Novalee how to take pictures and to see everyone through photographs Moses also gives her a complimentary baby photo book . She also meets a Native American Benny Goodluck who gives her a buckeye tree for luck; Benny is a twelve year old boy who helps his dad in his nursery business. Novalee then meets Forney Hill, the difficult and neurotic Liberian; he has many secrets that only the town locals seem to know about. Forney takes care of his sick sister upstairs form the library. Novalee later falls in love with Forney. Still not knowing what to do, or where to go she heads back to the Wal-Mart store... Novalee begins living in the Wal-Mart. After not feeling well she goes into the washroom, by the time she comes out the store is dark, closed for the night and she is locked in. This is when she decides that this will be her new start to a whole new beginning While being locked in the store she wanders though the baby section and picks out baby clothes for her baby and starts decorating in her own mind what she would like in her home when she gets one of her own some day. Her new friends do not know that she is living in the store. Novalee has her baby right in the Wal-Mart store after hours; she is helped deliver the baby with her new friend Forney that is when she decides to name her baby Americus. Suddenly everyone in America is writing her and giving her money this is Novalee's five minutes of fame. To Nova lee America is great and this will make her hold on to the hope that this where Novalee and her new baby will start their new lives.
This book was one of those can't wait to see what happens next. This makes you believe the strength of friendship and the goodness of others makes for a great place to live. The down to earth people in this small community make Nova lee build a strong relationship with each and everyone that she meets. The story makes you laugh at times as well cry, or hope that she makes it through another crisis in her life, but the lesson that she learns and the experience she encounters is uplifting. The message is clear to hang on to what you have and good comes to those who wait. Novalee learns the most important lesson in life where home really is. "Where the Heart is" is a touching book that leaves you with a feeling of hope and happiness. .

Summary: Beautifully Written, Impossible to put down.
Review: I was amazed by the plot of the story- it was so different, so unique. The characters were so descriptive, so real; they each had their own story to tell and you really got to know each character and their life. You explored the other side of life, the way others live, and so I suppose I even learned a bit from this book.

This book has everything- Romance, Adventure, Happiness, and Saddness. You never know what is going to happen next, which I really loved about this book.

Highly reccomended.

Summary: Awsome book!
Review: This is a great book. I highly recommend it! The plot line will hook you right away. After starting to read I had a hard time putting it down. It is great heart touching story. The character describtions are great; you feel like you personally know each of the characters in the story. I have read it more than once and it is still great the second and third time. If you have seen the movie the book is ten times better. I personally didn't enjoy the movie and I read the book first. The book is so great that the movie just doesn't give the same experience as when reading the book.

Summary: Heart Warming Story
Review: I truly LOVED this book! This was my first "grown-up" novel (while in college) and it made me want to read more!!! This book is about struggles, friendships, forgiveness, and love. I recommend this book for those who enjoy the precious things in life. It really opened my eyes and made me realize how quickly my life could change, and taught me that everything happens for a reason. It does a wonderful job of explaining the hardships and adventures she encounters along the way.
This book reads quickly and is a delightful tale that is much better than the movie. I found it to be a very light read but still heart-warming and endearing. The fluid style of writing contributes to the ease of how this reads.
