Summary: A bad effort on the part of Marian Keyes
Review: I have enjoyed all of the previous books written by Marian Keyes, but this one was terrible. There was no plot and the characters seemed to be running themselves in circles. I highly recommend other books written by Ms. Keyes, but I urge you not to waste you time with this one.

Summary: Great Fun!
Review: When Maggie's marriage breaks up, she decides to visit her childhood friend who now lives in Los Angeles. It's quite a culture shock for a girl from Ireland.

But the shock is even more when her parents and 2 sisters also come for a visit! This is really the best part of the book. Her family gives a whole new meaning to the word ECCENTRIC! This is the part where you may find yourself laughng out loud.

But also, in bits and pieces we learn Maggie's whole story. It comes unexpectedly but everything blends together very well.

A fun book but also a solid "good read".

Summary: SATISFYING, HONEST, AND FUN !!!
Review: I READ THIS BOOK ON MY HONEYMOON DURING THOSE LONG STRETCHES ON THE BEACH AND AT THE POOL. MY HUSBAND QUICKLY BECAME USED TO MY RANDOM BOUTS OF LAUGHTER AS I READ. I WILL ALWAYS THINK OF THIS BOOK FONDLY. I HAVE READ ALL OF MIRIAM'S BOOKS AND THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES. I LOVE THE WALSH WOMEN, THEY ARE A RIOT! I LOVED THE IRISH TAKE ON L.A. IF YOU'RE IN THE MOOD FOR SOMETHING WITTY WITH PLENTY OF TWISTS AND TURNS, BUY THIS BOOK!!!

Summary: Wonderful, as usual!
Review: I have to say, I just love Marian Keyes' novels. I could hardly wait to get my hands on "Angels" and my excitement was justified! It was great to get to "know" Maggie after having been introduced to her character in "Watermelon" and "Rachel's Holiday" and to compare the impressions of her from her point of view vs. her sisters' views of her. I really hope Marian plans to write books featuring the other two Walsh sisters as well!

Summary: Witty and Wise
Review: This book is laugh out loud funny. Keyes situations and characters are hysterical. Having read Watermelon & Rachel's Holiday I was delighted to welcome back Mammy Walsh and sister Helen, two of the best characters modern fiction has to offer. Keyes manages to pull off a difficult task in this book by addressing the very serious issue of womens attitudes to reproduction and yet remain extremely funny without trivializing the issues. Keyes takes a very honest look at how women feel. She addresses all aspects of the issue, pregnancy, abortion, miscarriage and infertility. It is unusual to find a book where a woman expresses a distaste for and a fear of pregnancy. Also, the distructive power of guilt, especially that of the woman who fails to conceive. I read this book while I was at home sick, and it helped me recover a lot more than anything the doctor had prescribed. Give yourself a treat and read it.

Summary: Perfect Summer Read!
Review: I love Marian Keyes, and recently she's been on a hot streak! I thought I would be let down by this book after her last novel, the wonderful, hysterical "Last Chance Saloon." Well, I'm happy to say I was wrong, this one is just as good, with hysterical dialog-internal and otherwise! Make sure you add this to your summer book list.

Summary: The End Was The Best!
Review: It took me forever to complete reading this book. It wasn't until the last 100 pages that I actually enjoyed it. Three-quarters of the book seems to repeat itself making it a bit boring and hard to get through.

The setting for the book is in Los Angeles. I live in Southern California and I feel that Keyes really exagerated what she "imagined" L.A. is like. Some of what she writes does happen but so much is sterotype ... things we may have heard or seen on an "Entertainment Show."

I am a first time Keyes reader so I wasn't familiar with all of the chartacters. Keyes does have knack for writing colorful and enjoyable chartacters.

Maggie, the main chartacter, was given just about every senerio life can bring ... Marriage, pregnancy, miscarriage, abortion, divorce, affairs, lesbiansm on and on .... To much! I guess that is why it is called fiction.

Summary: marian keyes is awesome
Review: i live for new releases from marian keyes. when i was in the UK last summer, i picked up all of her books that hadn't been published in the states yet. much to my surprise, they published Angels at the same time in both countries! after reading about claire and rachel, i eagerly anticipated reading about the "good" walsh sister. maggie is a very realistic character facing problems that women deal with every day. keyes has written another winner, keeping the reader glued to the pages while laughing out loud. i highly recommend this book and i can't wait until keyes writes about the hilarious anna and helen. (US readers - keep your eyes peeled for sushi for beginners!)

Summary: Not quite as good as her previous books, but still great!
Review: I have read all of Marian Keyes's books, and I was looking forward to reading Angels, especially since the main character is one of the Walsh sisters -- characters from Watermelon and Rachel's Holiday.

Margaret is considered the "good one" in the family. She is not as witty as Claire and not as edgy as Rachel. She has been married for quite a while and her life seemed perfect. That is until she finds out that her husband's cheated on her. In order to distance herself from her husband, she flies to L.A. to stay with a struggling screenwriter. And Keyes's signature style of delving into a dirty past begins until it leads to a pleasantly surprising ending.

Unfortunately, Angels isn't quite as funny as Keyes's previous novels. The author concentrates on the L.A. lifestyle for most of the novel. Still, it's got a dark issue that is used in a comic and lighthearted way. Keyes hasn't let me down. She is my favorite chick lit writer. Keep writing, Keyes, the faster the better!

Summary: Marian Keyes has written another winner.
Review: Well after we've heard Claire and Rachel Walsh's story it is now time to learn all about Maggie. Everyone knows Maggie as the good sister, the one who is pretty and does the right things. Well Maggie's life all of a sudden takes a turn and she isn't quite prepared for what will happen.

Maggie lives in Dublin with her husband Garv and they seem happy on the outside, but when Maggie finds outs some shocking news she decides that it is time to get out and explore her life.

She gets on the plane and heads off to Los Angeles to hang out with her long time friend Emily. When she gets to LA she finds out that things there are much diffrent they were in Dublin. The people are more into the movies and other things then she is. After a short while Maggie is out having the time of life making friends and helping out friends.

Maggie is a strong characor. Not as strong as Rachel but still a good girl who is just starting to open up her life and see the world. The people she meets Lara, Shay, Troy, Justin and the boys next door all help her to realize what is going on in her life.

Overall this was another wonderful book by Marian Keyes. I hope she will write books about Anna and Helen.
