Rating: Summary: Can't put it down Review: I search for the right words to express this great and well written novel. It's gripping from start to finish. I found myself right there with the characters and the author's abiltity to turn suspense drama, comedy and love into a most read. The pain and agony I felt for the two best friends. Their struggles, and the triumphs over obstacles and lou-loc's thoughts to make it further than what the street gave yet had to deal with the hand he was dealt(life on the street).
Rating: Summary: Dear K'wan. Or Kwan. Or K-Wan. You don't seem sure which. Review: I assume you type your manuscripts, as no publishing company (even one like TCP) will take hand-written stuff. On your word processor (I assume you use Word, or Works, or something similar) move your mouse up to the "tools" menu. Go ahead. I'll wait. There? Okay. Now, click on "spelling and grammar". Now, make every suggested change. Every single one. I don't care if that means the protagonist's name is now "Lowly". Just do it. Now, see how pretty it is? You can actually read it! There are words that actually exist and stuff! That doesn't help the rest of the problems with the book (such as the predictable plot, the blatant self-insertion, the poorly developed characters, the clichéd love story, and the general mind-numbing wretchedness of it all), but at least normal people with normal brains will be able to READ it. And that'll be a good thing. Right? Sincerely, -A native English speaker PS: All of you who have said "THIS BOOK IS AWESOME AND IT DOESN'T MATTER THAT THERE ARE A HILLION JILLION ERRORS AND ALL YOU HATERS ARE JUST STUPID WHITE PEOPLE IN THE SUBURBS" are all stupid, stupid, stupid people. PPS: "Gansta"? What's this "gansta" I keep seeing? PPPS: Good writing (of which this book contains none) does not render bad editing harmless. If a book is badly edited, it is a bad book. Period. PPPPS: Yes, I am aware that dialogue commonly calls for slang words and street lingo that aren't in formal usage, or are even recognized by most spell-checkers. But you know what? A good writer should know the difference between street slang and bad spelling. If you don't, news flash: you aren't a good writer.
Rating: Summary: I Felt Like I Knew The Charecters Personnally Review: This was definately a good book. It started off a little slow (first five chapters or so) but quickly picked up. The charecters felt so real to me. The book had some typos but still read okay. It was a page turner. I got so emotionally involved that I actually cried a few times. Pick up this book. It won't be a waste of your time!
Rating: Summary: GOTTA BE A BEST SELLER Review: When I got done with this book, all I could say was wow. Lou-loc's story was ill. I really felt for da boy and what he was goin through. Its hard to live right, when all ya peoples is starving. That's real. The ending of the book broke my heart though. I loved this book and cant stop talking about it. It moved me like that and I can't wait for the movie.

Rating: Summary: Modern Day Romeo & Juliette Review: St. Louis "Lou-Loc" Alexander is from one of the most notorious Crip gangs in California and New York. Satin Angelino is the law abiding sister of the "Bloods" lead gang banger El Diablo. Lou-Loc wants more out of life than what the streets can give him. He loves the "family" and will always be there for them. Satin hates the person that her brother has become even though most of the money he has made has left her wanting for nothing. Lou-Loc meets Satin when he goes to register for a class at the community college. They are both intrigued by the other from the start. Lou-Loc sets out to make Satin his woman no matter what the cost. K'wan takes an old tale and gives it updated `flavah' as St. Louis and Satin go through many obstacles to be together. This urban love story is a fast and very good read. It will keep you on the edge of your seat from chapter to chapter. Tracey R.E.A.L Reviewers
Rating: Summary: Gangsta Review: Gangsta is one of the best Love stories I ever read. The story explains the struggle of a very smart, intelligent, and caring young black man. He is growing tired of the life that he is leading and would like more. I had to force myself to put down this book. If you are willing to have an open mind and travel in another persons shoes, then this is the book!!! Once you enjoy the adventure of Lou Loc, check out the adventure of K-Dawg in Road Dawgs.
Rating: Summary: Very Intriguing and suspenseful for a debut novel Review: I enjoyed this novel. It was suspenseful with some humerous parts. Overall, I enjoyed it because the author kept me inclined and wanting more. I was definitely kept on the edge of my seat with this one. There were a few typos but if that doesn't bother you then go ahead and read it. I am interested in tragic novels anyway, this one was by far one of the rawest I've read in a long time. I recommend it.
