Summary: Too Predictable
Review: This book was entertaining, but at times predictable. Could have had a better ending. This is book is right along the lines of "B-
More Careful". The author didn't really had much of a twist to the plot, it almost is too predictable. The way he depicted the characters dialect was shameful. I pray to God that there are not really any of us black women that talk like this. It actually took me a while to figure out what he was trying to say (haha)! I guess I'm just tired of the same old "ghetto girl" story line. It doesn;t seem that original any more...

Summary: A Hustler's Wife
Review: This book was a disappointment. It was unrealistic. The story line was slow, I kept waiting for something to happen.

Summary: It was aight
Review: This book was okay but I thought it could have been better also. The way it ended was like....okay what else. It interesting though and I read it two days.

Summary: Could have been better
Review: I enjoyed the authors fist book..B-More Careful. This one was well...short..The story was a good one, it just seemed a bit rushed. The grammatical errors and story contradictions somewhat threw me for a loop, but other wise was an ok read.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: It was what is was
Review: I guess that it was okay. I mean I really was not feeling the way that it ended and it was very short. But it was too much like The players Club to me, an ice cube movie. But if you like the hood books you will like it. It was a good read but no originality.

Summary: Bad Girlz...Bad Girlz
Review: Bad Girlz is a story of Tender who was forced to leave her house because her mother no longer trusted her. She finds a young woman named Kat who is kind enough to take her in and help her get on her feet. It turned out that Kat was trying to do the complete opposite....ruin her life. Tender makes her living as a stripper at a successful strip club and begins to adjust to her new life as a stripper. Tender soon finds out what type of person Kat really is begins to realize that Kat is hurting her more than she is helping her.

The book was a really easy read considering that it is only 204 or so pages long. The fact that the book is so short is one of the reasons why I only gave the book 3 stars. Also some of the situations that happend in the book didn't seem so believable to me. I think that Mr. Holmes had a great story idea I just wish that he could have made it a little longer and also add more depth in it. Other than that it was an average book. Nothing to get all hyped about. But pick it up anyway if you enjoy these books about the streets....it's a good opportunity to see how hard some people out there have it

Summary: Not the Glamorous Life
Review: One thing this book teaches us is that it pays to stay in school.

Bad Girlz, Shannon Holmes's novel about the stripping industry, follows the misadventures of Tender and Goldie, both of whom come under the "guidance" of the intimidating Kat because of horrible circumstances at home. Although they know that stripping is wrong and struggle with their demons, they find it hard to leave the "game." And their so-called "big sister" Kat won't let them leave, intimidating them both with her knowledge and their supposed debts.

This novel was realistic in that a lot of women are in this same predicament: trying to find a way of the life of wrongdoing. The plot gravitated you, and page by page, you're wanting more.

The only reason I didn't give Shannon Holmes 5 stars was because of his countless grammatical errors.

Summary: Shannon you have DONE IT AGAIN!!
Review: This book is as good as Shannon said it would be (glad the stripping theme worked out :) . It showed the UNGLAMOUROUS side of exotic dancing which is rarely seen. Money is definitely the root of all evil. However, I would agree that the end was indeed rushed . It should have been a bit smoother. Overall a really good book.

Summary: Slow down Next Time
Review: The book was really good. It really explained a lot of things i wasn't famailar with. Its good to read something you would know yourself would never do. I really liked all the quotes you cited in the book. Some of the quotes I live by like: "If you don't plan then you plan to fail." I definitely believe that. I think the ending was rushed and you wanted to some it all up. But, more action should have taken place between Kat, Goldie, and Tender. I think Tender and Goldie should have jumped Kat or even killed her. The one should have died. But overall great job and keep doing ya thug dizzle. Holla Back ATL People can email me with more questions and comments i would love to hear them. Miss_jasmine19@yahoo.com
