Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Emma does it again! Review: I'm picky about my erotica. I expect all that I expect out of my usual fiction PLUS hot sex tailored to my kinks. This woman keeps writing erotica far beyond most authors in her field--and she's not trying to be Lit'rary or elegant or Moral-of-it-all--she's always taking interesting people, interesting situations, throwing them together, and making them hot. No innocent is betrayed, everyone in the right gets their jollies, and there's actually ordinary human interaction here. No artificial constructs, nothing yells "Staged!".I will read what this woman writes. However, this just happens to be almost as good a story as Menage. I happen to be a foodie, so this is up my alley. I am not likely to run a B&B myself--way too much work, but they're fun to read about. It was a lot of fun watching Storm conquering his own shadows, and squirming when he needed to realize he wasn't running things, but still achieve an HEA, after several steamy scenes.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: What Romance?!!! Review: Is this supposed to be erotic romance?! It is erotic all right, but there is nothing romantic about it...unless you would call it that when two lead characters meeting each other, having a lot of sex with each other, and then saying their I love yous to each other in the end. Oh, but wait, in between the book our female character goes and have more sex with other men and a woman. I would have not pick up this book if the synopsis would have been more detailed. If you prefer erotic romance with characters in monogamous relationships, then read authors such as Lori Foster, Cheryl Holt, and Robin Schone.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A great erotica primer for the novice readers among us ... Review: It took me quite a while to get my hands on this book since it has been sold out and was just re-printed im May 2002. Storm Dupre, the somewhat jaded chef, French of course, decides to leave California and take a job at a small Cape Cod restaurant that has fallen on hard times due to a lack of a creative menu and subsequently, customers. Abby, The owner of the Coates Inn realizes that if she is going to make the restaurant work she is going to have to get a new chef or face highly probable bankruptcy. Up to the point that Storm shows up, Abbie's life could be summed up as normal and as predictable as a ham and eggs breakfast as she decides to not only get a new chef but also unceremoniously dump her long time boyfriend. This situation of course left Abbie quite exposed when she meets with Storm, a man that considers women to be a fine five course meal to be savoured .... Abbie comes (forgive the pun) through in living colours showing that shes up to the task and then some .... All in all I think this is one of Emma Holly's more gentle books and the eroticism is of course masterfully written. Although we have the obligatory lesbian love interest in the form of Abbie's roomate, our heroine manages to stay pretty well in the hetero domains of her now whirlwind life. As such, Cooking up a Storm is a super sexual awakening story that I really enjoyed and recommend ....

Review: Just finished reading Cooking Up a Storm by Emma Holly and was somewhat disappointed and surprised at the rest of the reviewers' glowing comments. The 'hero', Storm (aka Eugene) Dupre IS a hottie and I felt like with more 'fleshing out' (no pun intended) I could have really connected with him. He's awesome in that he lives to please his partners--what makes them happy makes him happy. Storm is also into mild bondage--with himself as the submissive. This doesn't go along, in my mind, with the strong sexual figure I would have liked in Storm. By the time he decides to go after the heroine for love, however, she's a total nymphomaniac and her ability to be monogamous is seriously in doubt. As far as Abby (the heroine) goes, I ended up liking her less and less as the book progressed. Storm awakens her sexual desires (awesome) BUT she proceeds to experiment with everyone in town, including a lesbian girl who has had a crush on her the entire book (note: these are erotic fiction for WOMEN--I thought it was men who liked the girl-on-girl things). Another of her sexual partners includes one of her deceased father's friends - ewww. Anyway ... although the love scenes between Storm and Abby were great, I felt like the rest of the sex was really gratuitous (maybe I'm missing the point here ;+)
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Very tasty! Review: Loved this book -- it had some twists you don't often see in erotic novels. For instance, the male protagonist has exhibitionist tendencies that are explicitly depicted and are very hot, and the sex is fast, furious, and steamy! A good read.

And I love the fact that the book is set in Cape Cod- my hometown! Great scenes, awesome descriptions! Thank you Ms Holly for this awesome and HOT novel!
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Cooking up a nympho more like! Review: Ms Holly has recently been reissuing several of her earlier erotic stories, beginning with the terrific PERSONAL ASSETS. I decided to check out this story as well, but I must say that I did not enjoy this one nearly as much as I did PA. I'm no puritan, but I think casual sex can be taken too far! One of the things I liked best about PERSONAL ASSETS was the relationship within each of the couples and the fact that there were feelings involved along with the sex. But here I found next to no romance - just lots of gratuitous, incredibly casual sex under the guise of a woman "exploring her sexuality". The book started out great! Jaded Storm Dupre is a hot, sexy LA-based chef looking for a fresh start and new challenges. A help-wanted ad for a chef to work in a small Cape Cod inn grabs his attention and soon he has uprooted his life and moved across the country intent on eventually buying out the inn's owner. She is Abby Coates who is hanging onto the inn by a thread. She hopes that the additional business a hotshot new chef will bring in will allow her to get the inn back on firm financial footing. Abby has just ended her relationship with a longtime boyfriend with whom she had a less than satisfactory sex life. Of course she and Storm are immediately attracted and she finds that sex with Storm has opened her eyes to lots of possibilities. Unfortunately, from there things went downhill for me, as Abby proceeds to have sex with just about everyone in town! Meanwhile the love-em-and-leave-em Storm begins to fall hard for her. But I have to say that toward the end I really disliked Abby (...)! On the flip side, I began to like Storm more and more. I would have liked this book much more if it had concentrated on Abby and Storm as a couple rather than Abby's sexual exploits. And in the end, I have to say that I had no faith that their relationship would survive. But that's just me. For those who like erotica for it's own sake, this story may work. It didn't for me.

From the outset the story grabbed my attention, kept me reading (except when I had to stop and breathe) and made me hungry to devour more of Emma's works. The sex scenes are steamy, provocative, unusual. The characters are very believable and the plot is scrumptious!
