Summary: I have lost the will to read anything else
Review: I have never read a better book, I probably will never read a better book, and I am almost afraid to read another book for fear of disappointment. Owen is the most unique character ever created, I cannot do him justice. I just want to read and re-read about his life over and over. Why can't I get this story out of my head? It's worth reading just for the experience of utterly being lost in another world - Irving's strange world and his unusual cast of characters.

Summary: stunning
Review: I hadn't thought about this book for a long time - but then it mentioned in another review and immediately felt that thrill of "yes that is what reading is all about". One of the rare few that make going through all the so=so books worth it. Don't miss this one.

Summary: Brilliant!! A heartwarming tragedy (if that's possible)
Review: After reading this book I HAD to read more of John Irving, though I did not think the others were QUITE as good...anyway I keep reading it again and again; enough said!

Summary: Irving is deserving!
Review: John Irving is deserving of the fine praise he has received (mostly) on this review page. I have been a fan of his for years now, and I am now pining away for his next book -- which is too darn long in coming!

What can I say that has not been said already? I love Owen Meany, and I thank Irving for such a wild ride with characters that are, well, strange, but all too human and believable. Go Irving!

Summary: I'm so confused!!
Review: I just finished *Owen* and I must admit, I don't know what the fuss is about. It is well written (obviously) but somewhat strange...I guess what irritated me most was feeling like I was being strung along just to see how the book ended. I also did not like all the political rantings scattered throughout the book. I'm not sure I'd even really give it a *6*. I wouldn't recommend but I wouldn't say not to read it either. I think it's one of those books that you have to experience for yourself and make your own decisions.

Summary: One of my all-time favorites.
Review: You miss the characters when you're finished reading. The character development is amazing, and the story is hilarious, sad, and profound.

Summary: owen meany: a coureageous boy
Review: my father breed thouroughbrough in france. One year he had a small horse, which is not really good for races. But he beleived in it, he thought about Owen Meany so he named it Owen Meany. As he start to race he won race after race, because of his courage.

Summary: A great book. Different. Real. Heartwarming
Review: I read this book by chance. I loved it and didn't want it to end. Lots of accurate obeservations about people, life and politics. Read it!

Summary: My favorite book (and I've read too many)
Review: Out of all the books I've read, this is my favorite. It's also one of my parents' favorites, even though they have very different taste than I have. People that both love and hate other John Irving books (_Garp_) love this book. Not only have I read it at least 10 times, but through one of the main characters in this book, Irving introduced me to my favorite author of all time, Robertson Davies (whom I also recommend). I don't give out 10s frequently: this is worth buying unseen.
