Summary: Artistic and Charming
Review: It is a pleasure to experience a creative person at the hight of there craft. In this case, Albom, doing what he does as well as any contemporary, writing in simple easy to read expression. I recommend this book to anyone who has ever had questions about the value of the life they are living, Which is everyone i know.

Summary: AMAZING
Review: I cannot say enough about this fabulous book! I picked it up on a whim and had finished the book in three hours. I could not put it down. Albom does a fantastic job taking you through this man's life and showing how events you aren't even aware of can change your life and the life of those around you. Although a book about "people you meet in heaven", I think Albom does a very good job at dealing with philosophical aspects instead of overly religious aspects, so if you are not a religious person, don't let the title scare you away. This is a book I will read over and over again and have already bought several copies for family and friends. THe premise of the book - how your afterlife is designed to help you understood the life you just led - is fantastic, as is the way everything comes together in the end, in a very realistic way. If you don't read this, you are robbing yourself of a truly great experience.

Summary: Short, light read that will touch your soul
Review: I picked up this book on a Friday and had it finished in a single day. What a touching story that's really hard to put down. The story really makes you re-examine your assumptions about the people in your life - you really may not know everything you think you do. The only negative thing I can say is that it ended too quickly. Highly recommended, one of the few books that you'll read again and again.

Summary: Inspiring
Review: You've done it again, Mitch.
I was totally enamored by this book. After reading Morrie I didn't believe I could be touched so deeply, I was wrong. The five people were so real to me and changed my philosophy on how to live life. Doing that which our heart desires, we give back to others in such special ways that we don't even realize we are doing it.
I bought so many copies of the book for friends I may go broke and love every minute of it! Thanks Mitch for touching my life again with your wonderful writing.

also like the earlier reviewer I also recommend Nightmares Echo

Summary: Cute but overly simple
Review: This book certain presents an interesting view of the afterlife, but it's overly simplistic with almost no depth or real texture to the story. While I certainly did sympathize with the main character, I never felt like I really got to know him. I was hoping for a lot more from this author.

Summary: ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I'VE READ
Review: This is a wonderful book, I could not put it down. I couldn't wait to finish it but didn't want it to end. It is very touching and very well written.***** FIVE STARS

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Self-conscious drivel
Review: This is a fine example of self-conscious writing in which the author is saying, "See how sensitive, perceptive and thoughtful I am?" But "Five People" is adolescent, without substance, predictable and -- worst of all -- incredibly boring. The characters have no character. The plot is straight line. The theme pure pap. The only reason to read past page two is to amaze yourself that anyone would publish a verbal trainwreck. I can't say one good thing about this book -- except that paper burns and winter is coming.

Summary: Save your money
Review: I am not in agreement with the other reviews posted here. I think this book is a dud. Wish I hadn't wasted my money.
