Summary: One of the most unique outlooks on life! Great Book!
Review: This was one of the best, if not the best book i have ever read! This book really makes you think about what it might be like in heaven. It gives you an outside look on life. It might give you a reason to help other people. This book gave a great idea of heaven, and how peoples lifes kind of "inter twine" with other peoples life. I could go on and on about this book but I dont want to give to much of this great book away!

Summary: Dr. Michael L. Johnson
Review: I'm not a big reader of fiction, non-fiction is my thing. When I read that USA Today had panned this book as one of the 10 worst books of the year 2003, I HAD to read it. Was it really that bad?????? NOOOOOOOO! I loved this book, so much so that I bought a second and gave it to my dad as a gift. Sorry USA Today, you are lost in a lost world on this one!

Dr. Michael L. Johnson author of "What Do You Do When the Medications Don't Work--A Non-Drug Treatment of Dizziness, Migraine Headaches, Fibromyalgia, and Other Chronic Conditions".

Summary: I had trouble putting it down!
Review: This is a wonderful book! I truly could not put the book down. It's delightful, thought provoking, and a wonderfully written. Mitch Albom has a true gift for story-telling. I was awed by the unending love "Eddie" (the main character) had for his deceased wife. A high recommendation on this one!

Summary: The Journey of life Understood
Review: After reading the wonderful The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold, The Five People You meet In Heaven was even more welcoming. While both books essentially deal with the afterlife, they adopt different approaches in storytelling, compelling in their won ways no less.

The Lovely Bones begin with a murder of a young girl but Five people focuses on the ending - the death of a 83-year old amusement park watcher, Eddie. Putting the end at the start was no doubt a gimmick but the story unfolds. Albom tells the story of this man by replaying scenes from his various birthdays from young to old. More importantly, these are interwoven with five people the old men meets while in heaven. On his arrival in heaven, he can't seem to remember how he died or whether he did rescue the girl he last held.

So begins his journey on heaven, meeting the five most pivotal persons in his life, some close to his hear while others who were strangers. More importantly, the story tells us that the people who had crossed paths with us in our lives, close or strangers, could have played a part in changing our destinies. In understanding the things that have happened, we learn to understand ourselves and those around us better. All things happen for a reason. Heaven is made out to be the place where our past life on earth unravels.

What the book tries to tell us, it does very well. Ultimately, it's about letting go of the anger ("no one is born with anger")and the judgement. It's about resolution and finding peace within oneself. Learn a few words of wisdom along the way!

Summary: Soul Searching Experience
Review: I absolutely love this book. Words can not describe my feeling upon finishing this work of art. I feel like a better person for reading it. Thank you, to Mitch Albom, for giving me an outlet to do some much needed soul searching.

Summary: You never know.....
Review: Although this book was an easy read.....it was a PLEASURE to read. In life you will wonder why certain people are in your life, do they have a specific meaning or are they making a cameo??? Bottom line is anyone that is in your life touches it in one way or another whether we realize it or not. It makes you wonder who you will meet in the after life and why. A feel good book.

Summary: Amazing!
Review: This book only took me 1 day to finish because I became so connected to each of the five people Eddie meets in Heaven after his passing. I attended a good friend's funeral yesterday and this book somehow gave me the strength to know that she is in a better place now.

Not only do you feel the pain that Eddie endures in his lifetime, but you gain an understanding of how precious our time on Earth can be. Whether we realize it or not, each and every person that crosses our path will touch our lives in some way.
We all ask "why?" things happen the way that they do. The Five People you Meet in Heaven inspires you to believe that our lives will continue to flourish long after our physical body has said goodbye.
The most valuable lesson that you learn as you read the final words in The Five People you Meet in Heaven is to let your friends & family know how much you love them each & every day because we are never guaranteed a tomorrow.

XOXOXO

Summary: A sweet affirmation
Review: This is a very heartfelt and tender book with a simple message at its core: You matter. What you do matters.

Eddie is a maintenance man at an amusement park on the Jersey shore. He has lived a "nothing" life. He dies in an accident at the park, and then his life's meaning is revealed to him. It is wonderful and moving journey. It is full of life, which is a bit ironic since the book is ostensibly about a man's death.

Not all of Mitch Albom's writing clicks. Some of it veers off into treacle. Some of it is a bit cliche - "He was changed forever by the war..." Some of the technique falls a little flat, such as the opening where Eddie's last hour on earth is counted down. Yet I was drawn in by the message of love at the core of the story.

A great book for a friend or loved one. My wife got it for me for Valentine's Day and I thought it was a gift full of love.

Summary: Makes you go "Hmmmmmm...."
Review: I read this book on a Sunday afternoon. It was written in a way to make the reader more insightful. It allowed the reader to ponder questions such as "What is the meaning of life?" and "Why am I here?" without being too preachy. The thing I liked about the book was that there was nothing particulary special about the main character. He was an everyday guy who lead what he felt was an ordinary life. This gives the rest of us hope with the idea that even though we may not be able to see it, our lives really do touch others in ways we never thought imaginable. This is a book that will encourage you to think about your own life and the way in which you want to live the rest of it.
