Rating: Summary: Finally, a book everyone can enjoy! Review: If you, like me, are a middle-aged man with a penchant for cross-dressing and reading steamy time-travel/romance novels, than this is the book for you! As soon as the wife's out of town, pin an enlarged photocopy of the cover hunk to your boudoir mirror, haul your Gold-Rush burlesque-dancer outfit out of the attic, put the Eagles's "Desperado" on auto-repeat, and get ready for a night of hot, hot, hot romance. This book is top notch all around. However: while I normally enjoy a nice glass of wine while reading my favorite romance novels, I would strongly caution you to read this novel sober. Otherwise, the discussion of the mysterious "corkscrew" technique may inspire some very unfortunate ideas involving the all-too-narrow neck of the wine bottle from which you've been drinking. Do not entertain these notions, as, in my case, they ultimately resulted in a very difficult change of clothes and my second-most embarrassing emergency room visit of all time.
Rating: Summary: Hot Hot Hot Review: Ok, well I could start all of Sandra Hill's reviews that way. She has a way with words that even makes a scene where the charactors are NOT naked hot (that is the sex scene I love most). She is a fantastic writer that makes a very unloveable Prissy, not quite so unloveable by the end of the book, and also both charactors grow more then in most of her books. Rafe learns that it is not always a bad thing to fall into rank every once in a while, and Prissy learns that listening to a man, and following his lead when he knows best, does not make you less of a women...just smart.

Rating: Summary: A Good Story Review: Rafael is the perfect hero - sexy, caring, passionate, with piercing blue eyes - just itching to teach Helen how to "let go" of her inhibitions and explore the passion between them. Helen is...well, let's just say that "prissy" is an apt nickname for her. Helen initially irritated me tremendously, with her misunderstanding of Rafe, as well as her oft-issued "Aaaaargh!". She also had a tendency to pull rank on Rafe, in a situation where her rank meant diddley-squat. In all honesty, she irritated Rafe as well, but he was still attracted to her. Sandra Hill's trade-mark hot love scenes are present, and I would suggest keeping a pitcher of ice handy. This book was not as great as her others, but I would still recommend it highly. Reason being, that Sandra Hill spoils us with her excellent writing style, and her "not-so-great" is still fantastic.

Rating: Summary: SHE'S THE BEST!!! Review: SANDRA HILL IS THE BEST!! THIS BOOK WAS FUNNY ENTERTAINING AND UNPREDICTABLE -- LIKE ALL HER BOOKS........I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!
Rating: Summary: DESPERADO was spectacular. Review: This is the best book I've read in ages. It had outrageous humor, a hero to die for, a historically accurage backdrop of the California Gold Rush, a poignant love story and sizzling sex. What else could you want in a romance novel? This is the first Sandra Hill book I read, but I plan to buy all her others. If they are as great as this one, I will have to enlarge my keeper shelf.
Rating: Summary: Interesting Book Review: This is the first book I've read by Sandra Hill. I love time travel romances, so I decided to give it a go. Right off, I was laughing my head off. The dialogue between the main characters is funny, sensual and gets very EROTIC. Rafe had me blushing with some of the stuff he said to Helen. I did get somewhat annoyed though with their continual arguing though. For the first half of the book, it seems that is all there doing is fighting, with Rafe baiting Helen, and Helen sprouting horns and bossing him around and giving orders. Its gets better though once they confess there love to each other. Then the sex teasing is on the prowl. What I thought was interesting though, was to have not one, but two people from our time travel back together into a totally alien time and see how they fare. At least they had each other. I would recommend this book to a friend who wanted a good laugh and definently wanted to get hot and bothered under the clothes!!!

Rating: Summary: Definitely worth reading..... Review: This is the first time travel I've read and the first of Sandra Hill's books. I thought it was great. I loved the verbal combat Helen and Rafe had between them. It was hilarious and crazy. I loved the sense of humor and found myself smiling and laughing along with them and at the things they did and said to each other. Rafe is definitely a hero to fall in love with. I would love to read about the rest of Rafe's family!!!
