Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: interesting story Review: First of all, there was one point towards the beginning of the story that completely snagged my attention - the heroine gets a message to call someone in the 505 area code. She looks it up in the phone book, and realizes it's in Colorado.
Well, I've lived in both Colorado (area code 303) and New Mexico (area code 505) and so I found this a bothersome detail that REALLY should have been corrected somewhere in the editing process.
That bugged me, perhaps more than it should have, but there you go. It did.
Other than that really relatively minor error, I found the book pretty enjoyable. I'm not a big fan of suspense in general, but these characters were really interesting. Even the heartless sister was interesting, and the storyline was pretty involved and moved along at a nice pace.
The relationship between the hero and heroine was plausible, and I found myself interested in how they were going to work it all out.
I enjoyed the historical information, and felt I learned a little bit about the Indians that lived there before, and that's always a big plus.
All in all, it was an enjoyable read.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: what a wonderful read... Review: I am an absolute fan of Ann Maxwell/Elizabeth Lowell and this book is one of her best. The description of the mesa country just calls for me(I swore myself to visit it once myself). The suspense, the characters and the love for this country and its ancient culture are so well woven into each other, I was really hooked. Cain and Christy strugle for trust and truth against deceit, greed and violence. Are family ties strong, stronger than new found trust? I will read this book again!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Outstanding! Review: I am fascinated by the Anasazi which made this book an extra treat! And Cain, while a tough guy, wasn't as arrogant as I expected. I liked Christy but found her expectations about her sister Jo, who she hadn't seen in over a decade, a little unrealistic. But I definitely enjoyed this book and it made me long for a trip to the Four Corners area!

I found the old version of this in a used book store and now see that it is to be rereleased. Try it, you won't be disappointed. Ann Naxwell (AKA E. Lowell) knows how to write a love scene! I haven't read one of her books in a while and after reading many other romance authors I am reminded of why she was instantly one of my favorites!! She writes chapters in such a way that you can't put the book down, something always happens to keep you reading on into the wee hours of the night. This story was interesting historically, had a good romance and presented a tense scenario of intrigue and danger. Enjoy!
