Summary: Still Seeking the Heat
Review: I have read all of Zane's book and I must say Zane is a captivating author. From the begining of the book till the end, she will have you at the edge of your seat. I consider her one of the greatest authors of this century. She is graphical and helps a woman discover what is missing in a woman's sex life. She makes the reader feel passion and the excitement when reading.
However, HEATSEEKERS was very disappointing. It lacked Passion, drama, excitement, life, thrill, and all the other elements that make her books great. I was very suprised at Zane because her books are always very good. Hopefully the next book would make up for this one.

Summary: Sizzle
Review: Zane's writing is so rythmic and piercing,I immediately became enthralled with the characters. It was hard for me to put the book down, I completed the book in a day! This was the first book of hers that I've read and it sent me to the book store to buy 3 of her other books and since reading this book I've just completed "Addicted" another hot page turner and yes it only tooke me a day.

Summary: different but better
Review: This book is NOT like Zane's old stuff but what's wrong with that? Who wants to read the same story over and over again? Heat Seekers is better written, better ploted and relies more on artistry than sex scenes than any other Zane book and it's the first one whose cover didn't embarrass me. I liked the story and I hope the author continueds to grow and change.

Summary: shame on it all!!
Review: I have read every one of Zane's book from beginning to end and was greatly anticipating heat seekers from all the other books she had written I just knew this book would have me bound to a chair fiercely reading until there was nothing left. Imagine my surprise when I went to the mall and purchased (at a much higher price then amazon!!) this book to be so greatly disappointed with it!!

Shame on it all left me longing for more of the sister hood they had, Addicted left me thinkful for committed relationships and the Sex Chronicles left me (well you know). Sorry to say Heat Seekers had no heat, no major passion, and no major story line. This clearly was not Zanes best nor was it her average. I will continue to view her stories but something was greatly missing with this one.

Summary: Really a 4.5...Zane at the next level!
Review: I admit it. I'm a junkie for online reviews, and when I read the reviews for The Heat Seekers, I wanted to read it bad. Having been a fan of Zane's for several years, I just had to see what all the drama was about. After I read the novel, I came back to these reviews, and I was pretty confused. Zane has kicked her writing to a whole other level, and this is probably one of my better readings by Zane. I think people expect a writer to stay within the confinement of one genre or style of writing without realizing that a true writer will grow, will mature, and will tackle a variety of styles in his or her writing. That is what Zane has done with The Heat Seekers.

The Heat Seekers involves the stories of two sets of best friends -- Tempest and Janessa, and Dvonté and Geren. Tempest is a headstrong sister who has had a string of bad relationships, but when she meets Geren, a refine, handsome investment banker, she starts to believe that she can have that special love afforded only to soul mates. The problem comes into play when both Tempest and Geren keep secrets that may spell the end of their love affair. Janessa is an around the way sister who wants to try and put her life back on the right track. She lives at home with her parents and brother, and she's ready to get a good job and make a life of her own. At the club, the same night Tempest meets Geren, Janessa meets Dvonté, a playa who doesn't believe in love, commitment, relationships, or children. He's strictly in it for the sex, plain and simple. When Janessa gets involved with him, her life alters in ways she never expected, and she's forced to see who Dvonté really is.

I think what drew me into The Heat Seekers is its tone. It's serious. More serious than any of Zane's past works. This novel deals with abortion, unplanned pregnancies, suicide, the "ghetto" lifestyle, love, lies, and just plain ol' life. I could not put the book down. Tempest, by far my fave character, drew me into the story, and I was eager to wrap up the novel and see what would happen to everyone.

I think a lot of readers might be surprised not to see such an abundance of sex as Zane has had in previous novels, but the sexual scenes and innuendoes in this novel are tastefully done and drew me in just as much as any full blown, graphically detailed scene could. There's something to be said for giving a peek and allowing someone to imagine the rest.

In the end, I was extremely happy to see another facet to the writing of Zane. I hope to see more of this serious, deeper side in her future writings. I think the reason I didn't give this novel a 5 star is because there are still remnants of that Zane we know and love from her previous works. This novel has midgets and other off the wall, 'no you didn't go there' situations. I wanted a full departure, but instead, I received a 3/4 departure, and for me, that was enough.

I'm eager to see what twist in the literary road, Zane will put forth next.

Summary: A Little Too Much FairyTale
Review: I am a HUGE fan of Zane; I have since she was underground but I was kinda disappointed by this book. First, too much of a fairytale type of story and, as the other readers put it, it was just too predictable. There were no boundaries for the main character to overcome, everything just sorta fell into her lap all at the same time. I mean, the ... scenes were great (in true Zane fashion) but it didn't compare to her other books. Hey Zane, what happened to the ... thrillers you were going to make a series out of? Wasn't addicted supposed to set that off? I'm anxiously awaiting those! I brought this book to support and sistahgurl because if we don't, who will? But I don't recommend this to my bookclub or too many people for that matter.

Summary: Will the REAL writer ZANE please stand up please?!?!?
Review: Zane is pulling an Omar, Eric Jerome and E. Lynn - what I mean by that is that her initial books strike fire and then she starts to put out mediocre work. What? Just like Eric and Omar, she's gonna have to hit low for a while and then just when her readers stop buying her stuff, she turns around and start writing like we all know she can?!?! Since she now has a following, she now feels as though she doesn't have to try so hard!? I'm especially hard on Zane, 'cause I always considered her as one of "us." When I said "us", I'm referring to being a avid reader. The ordinary person who spends their hard earned money and invests their time into the books. All the while knowing the disappointment when it feels as though the author felt as though they could snow us and we would take it.

She stopped writing about the "ordinary" person and followed the old tried and true guidelines of writing about perfect people. Zane is known for her spicy writing and that's what her audience comes to expect from her. Where was it? I guess the niagra and midgets where her attempts at humor?

Ms. Zane has been taken from my "purchase hardcover book" list to "buy the paperback or get from the Library" list - she keeps writing like this, I won't be buying anymore of her stuff.

Is there an unspoken rule that you start publishing hardback books and they make you change everything about you that made you popular and lovable in the first place? Why would she put a book out so quickly after, SHAME OF IT ALL?

I dunno who this writer is; but, can they bring back the real Zane please?

Summary: The sister truly has it going on
Review: I LOVEDDDDDDD this book! It was the best novel I have read in a long time. Being male, I am usually not into so-called relationship novels. I am more of an espionage, murder mystery buff but I have heard so much about Zane from my female friends that I had to check her out. I am so glad that I did. The book was great and I just bought Addicted and The Sex Chronicles so I can catch up on what I've been missing.

Summary: All That and Then Some
Review: I have never written a review on Amazon before but I just had to show my girl Zane some love among the madness. I never expected The Heat Seekers to be like the rest of Zane's books because all of her books are different from each other. I was expecting something fresh and innovative and that is exactly what I got. Personally, I thought the book was hilarious, not to mention deep and it had me going from beginning to end. I will continue to support Zane no matter what she writes because I am a lifelong fan. I have yet to find another author that takes the risks she does with her writing. If she wants to change things up from time-to-time, it's all good with me. Much love to you Zane and keep the books coming.
