Rating: Summary: SURPASSED EXPECTATIONS Review: I bought the book with low expectations because of the various reviews that i have read. But caught up in the book from the first page.Zane's third book is about two friends, Tempest and Janessa, that are looking for that perfect man in there life. Someone to make their life complete and happy. Tempest has had troubles with men for the longest time. Every man that she has had a relationship with has ended up being Mr. Wrong. Janessa has an ex-boyfriend that is locked up in Lorton and she is trying her best to get over him. One night Janessa decides to go out to the club with Tempest and they come across two men that are very interested in them, Geren and Devonte. Tempest is very skepital of the relationship that begins to progress with Geren, and Janessa gets herself caught up some serious drama with Devonte. I really enjoyed this book because it kept me laughing but at the same time it made me cry. I also felt like I was best friends with Tempest and Janessa and I was getting through their hard times right along with them. Even though this book wasn't as hot and steamy as Zane's other two books, I still enjoyed it just as much. It just goes to show that Zane can write a very good book without all of the erotica. Plus I'm also from Maryland(close to D.C) so i was familiar with the locations in the book. I definetly recommend this one!
Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: This is my first Zane novel and I must say I am hooked and impressed and will be purchasing her earlier works: Addicted as well as Sex Chronicles. I read this book in three days and refused to put it down until I did; 2am Monday morning!!! How she works the characters reminds me E. Lynn Harris and we all know he works wonders. This is a must read for the summer. You will not be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: TOTALLY MISLEADING TITLE Review: I guess when I picked this booked up (and paid full price for it) that I was looking for total erotic and a little more flavor. I was sorely disappointed!! Throughout the book, I kept wondering, "When will I get to the good part? Where's the vivid ... scenes?? Where's the peak story line?" Didn't happen!! Zane's faceless characters lacked depth. The first chapter of the book was somewhat juicy, but then "Tempest" did a personality 360. I had to wonder if I was still reading about the same character. Someone needs to tell Zane that readers are not picking up her latest effort to read about self-proclaimed celibacy. Geez!! The entire book read like amateur writing. There wasn't even a story line. What a flop!... Better luck next time...
Rating: Summary: Not a lot of Heat but entertaining nontheless. Review: Tempest, a conservative social worker and her best friend Janessa, a hoochie momma extraordinaire, meet Geren, a financial broker, and his best friend Dvonte, Mr. Playa Playa, in a club. Tempest and Geren hook up and Dvonte and Janessa do the same. After that you have two couples, who set off on two different relationship paths. One relationship is shrouded in secrets while the other is planted in sex. These relationships will ultimately test how each one feels about their perspective mates and their lifelong friendships. Which one will make it? This is the premise of Zane's latest novel The Heat Seekers. In Zane's fourth novel, she gives us a break from vivid sexual escapades and offers a peek into relationships beyond the bedroom. This was quite a change from the three previous storylines but I have to say I enjoyed it. The clever dialogue and humorous situations (and she does have a thing for midgets) made up for the somewhat predictable plot. If I had to put all of Zane's books in the order of my personal taste The Heat Seekers sits only second to Addicted. Don't expect great revelations in this book, but you will surely be entertained. Rating: Summary: A Must read Review: I really enjoyed this latest Zane project. This is my favorite Zane book that I've read so far. Yes, it is different from her other books, but this goes to show you that Zane is capable of writing in many different forms. Keep up the good work Zane! And I'm looking forward to reading more of your work.
Rating: Summary: I Returned It!!!! Review: After reading Addicted and Shame on it All, I could not wait for the next book to come out by Zane. I was taking summer school college courses to advance in school and I put my school work down to read this book. At that time, Zane's book was more important than my school work. I WAS TOTALLY AND COMPLETEY DISAPPOINTED!! The book lacked everything from humor to the steamy love scenes that Zane was able to create in her previous books. The book was also just plain BORING! I continued to read it just based on the fact that I was praying that it would get better. The story line was just to fake for me. And I just could not even create an image in my mind of the characters because I got to the point that I didn't care about them after awhile. And the ending, I don't want to give it away, but come one, give me a break.....JUST TO FAKE!!! Well to make a long story short, I read the book and returned it once I finished and received a refund. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY, NOT WORTH THE MONEY.
Rating: Summary: I loved it Zane has done it once again Review: Zane has done it once again she has witten bout sex and relationships and while doing so she keeps the reading interest as well as keeping the reader on the edge of his/her seat. With each Book she gets better and better. I love this book best because I am able to share it with friends and family and I don't think they'd be too upset with the sexual aspects that are being shared in this book. Zane keep up the good work. This book speaks more to love and happiness as well as some slamming sex. Zane is a very gifted story teller whom I hope never runs out of plots to present us. Gurlfriend is off the hook when decribing the ghetto fabulous wedding whom the utlra conservative character Tempest is forced into practicpating in due to an unfortunate sexual accident one of the ghetto brides maid suffers when getting freaky with her boyfriend following the bachealorette pary which included some slamming well endowed Male strippers. In this book she continues to include items from her previous books i.e. the niagra and kool ade as well as the well endowed midgets theme. As always I loved this book and highly recommend this and all her books to any sexually unrepressed person I am happy to give this book 5 stars and it deserves each and everyone of them if not more
Rating: Summary: WHO WROTE THIS BOOK ? A 2-YEAR OLD? Review: THIS BOOKS DOESN'T DESERVE ANY STARS, BUT SINCE IT DEFAULTS TO AT LEAST ONE, I HAVE TO INDICATE 1. I happened to purchase this book for some in-flight/vacation relaxation entertainment. What a waste. I'd like to return it to the bookstore for a full return. I was amazed at this author's juvenile style of writing and description lacking characters. This was one of the worst books that I have ever read (read it while delayed in an airport for several hours)!! I have not read any of her other books and based on this TRASH, I don't plan to read any others. Some of the characters and stories in the books were simply unbelievable (midgets/coat hanger abortion in the 90's) cmon!!! My suggestion to those who are entertaining the idea of purchasing this book, DON'T!
Rating: Summary: she does it again!!!! Review: zane, you go girl! so far i've read three of Zane's books. this book is Also a must read. i highly encourage this book!
Rating: Summary: Zane-Sational!! Review: Zane has done it again! The Queen of the pen has kept us on the edge with her newest literary sensation, The Heat Seekers. With splashes of humor, this is a story about the bonds of friendship, sacrifice, forgiveness and love. From beginning to end, Zane enwraps her readers into the lives of two pairs of friends whose personalities are like night and day; yet the love they have for each other is as real as a summer rain. Despite their differences and irregardless of their actions, each friend is searching for the one thing sex can't bring and money can't buy. First, there's Tempest who has given up on the pursuit of happiness with a good man until an unexpected surprise changes her mind and opens her heart. Then there's her sistafriend Janessa who has been looking for love in all the wrong places and faces. When she's confronted with a life-altering situation, she quickly learns there's a thin line between lust and love. Next, there's Geren who longs for someone he can love with all that's in him; but, when cupid's arrow strikes, he realizes in order to keep his soulmate he must not only make some sacrifices but accept the truths of her past and his own. Last but not least there's Devonte who avoids commitment like the plague. When this womanizer is forced to take a hard, long look in the mirror, he sees what seperates the boys from the men and realizes the true makings of a man. The Heat Seekers takes us on a thought-provoking journey in this literary masterpiece. Thumbs up for a job well done! I salute and celebrate the phenomenon known as Zane and look forward to reading more of her page-turning creations. ...
