Rating: Summary: IT'S NOT ALL BAD. Review: Despite of all the put downs of this book, it wasn't really that bad; I liked it. Yeah, yeah, I know..., that's my opinion. I thought the book was down to earth, and it also had some pretty funny quotes in the story lines. Zane, you go girl! Just keep pumping out those great novels! (Smile)
Rating: Summary: Extremely Dissapointed! Review: I am a very big fan of Zane, but OH MY GOODNESS, I think someone else wrote this book for her! Nothing in it was like her previous works. I eagerly awaited the release of this book and even had it on order here at Amazon before it was released... IT [DISAPPOINTED]!! I absolutely never abandon a book because I always need closure, but I couldn't even finish it! And can someone please explain to me my girl ZANE's obsession with "midgets?!" I was very suprised to find that some readers gave this book 4 and 5 stars. The "secrets" that were "revealed" regarding Tempest and Darren... BORING! I read Zane's other books in 2 days or less... It took me 2 weeks to read Heat Seekers and I still didn't finish it. Every time I put it down it was too hard to pick back up. I'm looking forward to the next Zane novel because I believe she will make a come back! There's nowhere to go from Heat Seekers but up!
Rating: Summary: Too good to be true Review: This book started off slow, but it picked up later. I enjoyed reading this Geren was too good to be true.
Rating: Summary: Disappointment Review: I anxiously awaiting the arrival of this book after reading the other Zane novels. This novel was found to be a very big disappointment. This book did not live up to the name that Zane has made for herself. The story line was very easy to see through and rather boring. It lacked the passion and intense story line that this author has produced in the pass. I know that there will be ups and down, but this was a big downer! And it lacked quality, in other words in was way too GHETTO! I believe the infamous Zane got over on us on this one.
Rating: Summary: A Chance of Pace Review: A gentler and softer Zane is back with The Heat Seekers, a change of pace read that proves that she's able to write outside of the sexual escapades box. Readers who may have been turned off by Zane's prior works due to the profanity, explicit sex scenes, and over the top Jerry Springer situations will be pleasantly surprised by The Heat Seekers. Zane gives us a strong storyline with her latest novel, where she allows women and men to engage in monogamous relationships, shows us men who are flawed but still have redeeming qualities, and doesn't rely on sexual escapades or shenanigans to carry the storyline. I enjoyed The Heat Seekers. Its the story of best friends, Janessa and Tempest, who meet and date best friends, Geren and Dvonte. While the story does not follow her usual pattern, Zane's unique creative style is still evident with mentions of midgets, Niagra and the infamous "ghetto" wedding. However, its the seriousness of opposite sex relationships and the love story between young African Americans, which caused me to read The Heat Seekers nonstop. Zane might not have given her avid fans what they wanted; however, The Heat Seekers brought her storytelling abilities to the forefront and hopefully captures some new readers and brings them into her target base. The Heat Seekers is entertaining, engaging and fast-paced and one that I recommend. I applaud Zane for taking a chance and a departure from her previous writing style and I look forward to future reads ...where she continues to write outside of the box. Yasmin APOOO BookClub
Rating: Summary: This book was really good! Review: I read this book after reading Addicted by Zane. I was not dissapointed by reading this.
Rating: Summary: ENJOYABLE Review: I found the book rather interesting. At first Tempest was getting on my nerves the way she was treating Geren but then she realized he was a good guy. And with MONEYYYYY!!!!$$$$$ So she would have been a fool if she let him go. All and all if you read it you will enjoy it.
Rating: Summary: A Task to Read, Not her best Book!!! Review: I read other books by Zane. I found this one to be a task to read. It was hard to keep my mind from going off to other things. The story line was weak & predictable. I only read it because I like to finish what I start... All her other books are great reads. If this is your first Zane book. You will find it interesting. But if you have read any of her other books than this one is a waste of your time.
Rating: Summary: Can't Touch This! Review: In the latest novel by Zane, we are shown the lives of two friends, Tempest and Janessa. Tempest, a social worker who counsels pregnant teens, has been burned one two many times by the men she has dated. Janessa, a postal worker, is looking for love in all the wrong places. When they meet two best friends, Geren and Dvonte, at a nightclub their lives are changed forever. Even though the novel was a little slow in the middle, I found The Heat Seekers to be a light, entertaining read. I enjoyed the friendship between Tempest and Janessa. Their interactions reminded me of me and my high school friends. Cursing each other out one minute and crying on each other's shoulders the next was an all too familiar scene. I could feel the romance between Tempest and Geren and cheered them on from the first meeting. I only received a glimpse of the relationships between Janessa and Dvonte and Dvonte and Geren so I was not as vested in them. The story, while a little predictable, was very enjoyable. I would recommend this book to all. After having read Addicted and The Heat Seekers (with Addicted being my favorite of the two), I look forward to reading Shame on it All and The Sex Chronicles. This book is actually a 4.5...
Rating: Summary: Below Average Seekers Review: I definitely felt like a below average reader, spending my time reading this book. At first the book started out pretty interesting with Tempest descriptions of previous relationships with losers. After that the book went down hill. Not only was the book very predictable, but also like a children fairytale. I do believe in happy endings, but lets get real...
