Rating: Summary: Unrealistic Review: After reading other Zane books, this one was truly the worst. Not because of the lack of sex, but the story was so predictable and unbelievable. You have the "hoochie" hooking up with the "playa" and the "good girl" lands the "catch" who, by the way, just happens to be a millionaire. So everyone lives happily ever after. Maybe in a perfect world. As soon as she introduced the little teenager who was pregnant, I knew what was gonna happen with that story. It seems like I read this story once before. Very boring read! Do waste your money, borrow it from someone if you just have to read it!
Rating: Summary: Another good one Review: This was another good Zane book. I understand a lot of people found this book to be sort of a "fariy tale story", but in the world we live in today, it is kind of nice to read a story thats not always "down to earth". I would advise first time readers of Zane or anybody is to read Shame On It All by Zane before you read Heat Seekers. There are some jokes or storylines that you might go "huh" if you dont read Shame On It All before you read this, for example with the whole midget people storyline. I won't give it away because, you should read it for yourself. This book just made me want to fall in love with that right man. This book was not better Addicted or Nervous(both written by Zane), but it still was a very good book.
Rating: Summary: Finding Mr. Right Review: In Heat Seekers, Zane travels away from her usually erotic tales of lust. Although there is a hint of some of her typical writing, Zane focuses more on relationships & love in this novel.Geren and Tempest are two "good" people in search of real love. Both of them have giving up on love until they meet one another: it's almost love at first sight. However, both Tempest and Geren have skeletons in their closets that could potentially ruin their chance at real love. Geren and Tempest's best friends are two peas in a pod. Dvonte is a self-proclaimed player that's not interested in hanging up his player status. Janessa is a sister that is afraid to allow men to touch her heart. Both Dvonte and Janessa have "issues" that may make it darn near impossible for them to find love. This was my first reading of a Zane book. I had heard many people comment on the eroticism that runs through her books, so I was a little disappointed that she decided to abandon the erotic in this book. Secondly, everything is just a little to "perfect" in the story. I pretty much was able to guess the plot through the book: no surprises. Although I know that Zane was trying to portray a positive black male character, Geren is just a little too "perfect". The characters in general are a little "flat". Nevertheless, I did finish the book and it was still a good way to pass the time. Leanna Bailey R.E.A.L. Reviewers
Rating: Summary: Turn Up The Heat... Review: Zane takes on a different direction from her usually erotic novels in this book. "The Heat Seekers" focuses on bestfriends Tempest and Janessa who are from DC. They are sick and tired of dealing with loser men, something that probably all women can relate to. Then we have Geren and Dvonte, two best friends. Geren is more mature, and ready for a serious relationship, whereas Dvonte is the complete opposite. The four meet at a club, and hit it off instantly. Geren and Tempest get together and build a serious relationship. Dvonte and Janessa pursue their own thing, but their relationship is strictly sexual. From there we embark on the foursome's journey. We experience their joys, pains, and of course passions. "Heat Seekers" was an enjoyable read from start to finish.
Rating: Summary: More Heat Review: Tempest and Janessa are best friends who have had their share of playboys and losers. Now they are looking for true love and ultimately marriage.
They meet Geren and Dvonte, who are also friends, and there is an instant attraction. Tempest and Geren fall deeply in love. Geren is smart, sexy and caring and has a good job. Tempest is hoping he is "the one". But since she lives her life with her past always looming in the front of her mind, and that horrible secret always threatening to stunt any chances of her getting married and starting a family, Tempset is wary.
Janessa has hooked up with Dvonte, who she likes and also believe's he may be the one to settle with. On the other hand Dvonte has other plans. He thinks he is gods gift to women and does not want only one woman...much less settle down! All he wants is to get layed and move on to the next piece of meat.
These two couples go through the usual love, secrets and pain situations of a relationship. They must learn how to trust and move on when the situation calls for it.
This book has some very funny moments. I had some good laughs with Tempest and Janessa, they are true friends till the end. I loved the way Zane wrote about the friendships between these men and the women. The characters could have been any of our friends, which made the story believeable. A good read.
Rating: Summary: where's the heat? Review: I have read a few of Zane's books, and they have all left me disappointed. However, at least in the newest one, Skyscrapers, the plot wasn't transparently predictable. As I read The Heat Seekers, I was waiting for something to happen that I couldn't see a mile away. Nothing ever did. I could have been able to overlook that if there had been a little HEAT in the book. For a "sexy" novel, it was lukewarm at best. Some reviewers say this is because it was a romance novel. The romance she was going for wasn't there. With romance, there should still be passion. Also, it was much too unrealistic. Geren and Tempest fell in love for no reason, and are we really supposed to believe the whole Janessa and Dvonte situation? The novel was much too bland to swallow. If you have a few hours that you really have nothing else to do with, go ahead and read this. But, if you're looking to be entertained, please pass this one by.
Rating: Summary: Drama All Around Review: Every time I read it I couldn't hardly put it down. Most of the time I couldn't wait if Tempest and Dvonte are getting together. It's a shame because they look like a very good couple. I can't believe Janessa made love to Dvonte and didn't use any protection. If she was safe then she wouldn't have "a bun in the oven" sort of speak. It's just too bad she lost the baby.
Dvonte seemed so nice at first. He was just turns out to be a wolf in sheep's clothing. Tempest and Janessa realized that he didn't really want a relationship. All he wants is to have fun with every women he meets. Janessa really needs to learn how to stand up for herself especially towards Dvonte.
This is the second time I read one of Zane's book. She never disappoints me. Once you read a Zane book you won't want to stop until you reach the end. I sugguest you read this book or her others like Nervous.
Rating: Summary: I'M STILL SEEKING!!! Review: OK.... The fisrt book I read by Zane was "SEX CHRONICLES" so when a friend suggested I read this one, I took one look at the title and SNATCHED it from her. Then I read it, and I wanted to SLAP her with it! Did Zane really write this one. DON"T GET ME WRONG this book is funny as hell. I was laughing out loud at some of it. But it just doesn't have that ZANE effect that i expected. Toward the end I just got even more discouraged, the book became predictable. I gave it 3 stars because IT WAS FUNNY. Had she written the same book with a little more sex appeal i'm sure I would have loved it!
Rating: Summary: Koodos 2 Zane Review: While others may say this wasn't her best, I think this was one of the greatest. This book is about 4 people, Tempest, Geren, Janessa and Dvonte. Tempest and Janessa are best friends and Dvonte and Geren are best friends also. These four meet @ a club and Geren and Tempest pair up and Janessa and Dvonte likewise. Tempest and Geren are the perfect match, cause they take their relatiopnship slow. However, Dvonte and Janessa are the worst match, she and Dvonte agreed to sleep with each other on their first date, so everything went downhill from there. Tempest and Geren both have secrets that may destroy their relationship and Janessa and Dvonte's relationship is held together by a piece of string and sex. This book is different from her erotic collection because it involves a lot of romance, but that doesnt mean it was bad, I loved it. First time readers of Zane shouldn't read this book. For first time readers I recommend Shame on it All and Addicted.
Rating: Summary: Ok with it Review: This book was ok it didnt have any drama in it and it seemed to have no action , this book was ok , If your in to roamance and that only then this is a good book for you.
