Summary: Easy to relate to.
Review: Emma Carter is your typical "single 30s gal" - she wants to look good, be successful and have that special guy. The problem she finds is that her happiness depends on what others think of her: her ex-boyfriend, new prospective boyfriends and her boss. It's easy to relate to that struggle to be content with your life when everything's not going 100% and to make choices because that's what YOU want, without worrying about what others will think.

For me, this was a slow starter that picked up as it went along. The last quarter of the book was my favorite. I think it would've been just as nice of a read without all the little "confession blurbs" but did find the quotes at the beginning of each chapter funny.

Summary: A+ All the Way!
Review: Everyone can relate to this book. We have all been an ex-girlfriend at one time or another. I couldn't put this book down and actually read it in one sitting. The author has a fantastic way of making the reader feel the emotion that every ex-girlfriend goes through. I found myself hysterical laughing out numerous parts of the book. The author writes with such emotions and feelings. I can totally relate to this book being my ex-boyfriend just moved to Chicago. The part in the book when Emma is in the city with her mom eating lunch and discussing husband #4 had me hysterical. While poor Emma is looking for husband #1. The book overall is a MUST READ. I can't wait for Lynda Curnyn's next book. It was so nice to read a well written book!

Summary: GREAT!
Review: I absolutely adored this book. I read it while in the midst of a breakup, and knowing i had this book to snuggle up to every night really lifted my mood. I found myself laughing out loud at various sections. I totally related to the solid friendship between Emma, Jade and Alyssa and loved the way they bounced ideas about love and dating off each other. Best of all, the writing is fantastic. I can't wait to read more from Lynda Curnyn!

Summary: Boring and Simpleminded
Review: I had to force myself to finish this book just so I could get my money's worth. This book lacked depth. I felt that the author rushed through crucial parts of the book and spent too much time writing about petty things. The end was blah and the characters were boring and unentertaining. When I read a fun book I want to be taken on at least a little bit of an adventure and frankly my life is more interesting than Emma Carter's is.

Summary: A relaxing and wonderful break!
Review: I just read this in a day and it was a great break from life! I absolutely loved this book as a light, quick read that completely absorbed me! Not only could I relate to the characters, but I KNOW them. As a single woman in her 30's, this book took me from sadness to comfort and anger to hope!

Summary: Very good
Review: I liked this book, it didn't follow all those other 30 and still single books that have come out lately. It's a very funny, real and blunt look at being dumped and having to start over again, yet finding yourself and what your place in society is before falling in love again. It's a pretty realistic look of life in NYC, the social scene and the work environment.
I found this book very enlightening and extremely gratifying.

Summary: Definitely Worth A Read
Review: I picked up this book in the airport, just before I found out that my flight was to be delayed. The delay gave me enough time to get thoroughly engrossed in this book, and I could not put it down! I thought this book was extremely funny, and it was a bit of a change of pace from the British wit that characterizes most single women's tales. I ended up reading it in one day, with the delay, the flight, and pre-bedtime reading! I thought it was a very easy, entertaining read!

Summary: help for the heartworn but hopeful
Review: I really enjoyed "Confessions of an Ex-Girlfriend." A friend suggested I read it -- I was going thru a recent breakup of my own -- and the book truly captures the ups and downs of getting over someone and getting on with life. I thought it was extremely well-written, insightful, smart, funny and inspiring. The writer creates well-rounded, fully developed characters who you truly feel for. I liked how she held nothing back, romantic foibles and all. Truly enjoyable and inspiring!!!! Five stars!
