Summary: Like you are living a farmers life!
Review: Anyone who has ever lived in rural america can relate to Ms. Deprees books. Small town life and life in rural america can be wonderful and is expressed in a fashion that is true to life in both of her books. If you have time read can of peas first then Dandelions.
Dandelions made me want to go back out to the farm if even just to smell the smells, slow down and realize what is important!

Summary: A lovely bouquet
Review: Dandelions in a Jelly Jar is a sweet tale of kindness, forgiveness, seeing from other's perspectives, learning to let go of what came before so you can make a new life, and seeing yourself as a beautiful bouquet even when you feel like a dandelion--a weed--inside. I'm not sure what the other reviewers are talking about when they say there's no deeper meaning here. Perhaps they weren't paying attention or the simplicity of style threw them off. What greater lessons in life are there than forgiveness and being kind to others? There's plenty going on here! And it's all delightful.

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: Dandelions in a Jelly Jar is a wonderful book. The title is what actually caught my attention and with a little reseach, I found that it is actually a continuation of the story told in A Can of Peas. So I purchased Can of Peas first and my husband and I both finished it in short order and couldn't place the order for this book fast enough. It is a gentle, uplifting book that I think we need a lot more of in this hectic, fast-paced life we lead. I will be first in line to purchase Ms. Depree's next book.

Summary: BRAVO!!!
Review: I love books about small towns and of course this one was NO exception! This town and all it's inhabitants were real and honest characters with honest fears, problems and daily life whether be good or bad. It sucked me in and kept me until I was done! Can't wait to read more by this very talented author.

Summary: heartwarming
Review: I loved both books by Traci DePree. I grew up in the midwest & could identify with the personalities & situations. I laughed & cried throughout. Can't wait for the next one.

Summary: Dandelions in a Jelly Jar
Review: I loved this book it reminds me of how it was growing up in a small town. People don't like it when new people come in and start changing things. This story reminds me alot of my own mother dealing with my grandmother and all her freind when she got married. I gave the books a Can of Peas as a gift and now i'm giving this one as a gift too. Read it and you will laugh at what happens to the two big city sister that move to the small town to be with there men.

Summary: A Reminder of Life's Good Things
Review: This is the second in a series and Dandelions in a Jelly Jar is wonderful. It introduces us to humans with all their warts and shows us there is goodness too. Trudy is, as she puts it, a "big mouth," and sometimes you think she wasn't spanked enough as a child, but she is still delightful. I want Jessie to live with me. No big lesson here and no digging for a deeper meaning, just a nice reminder to love each other and have faith.

Summary: Story-telling splashes against the shores of Lake Emily
Review: Traci DePree has a storyteller's gift of weaving patterns of relationships, personalities, and connections that pull her readers into her tales. A Can of Peas was a delight, and so is Dandelions in a Jelly Jar.
This time around, it's Trudy Ploog who comes to town and shakes things up like snow in a Santa paperweight. When the school board messes with her art program, Trudy doesn't act like a sweet, small-town girl: she brings some of her big city fighting skills with her and creates a little tempest in a teapot. This creates some stress between Trudy and her hometown boyfriend, Bert and the rest of the Morgan family.
There's nothing terribly deep here; just a sweet tale of rural life, faith, hope, and courage.
